  1. I love SWOTOR. I've been a sub and played it for close to 4 years, having several alts of each and completing the class stories multiple times. But sheesh, the Jedi Knight story is bad. That and the Sith Warrior could use a replacement if such a thing had been possible. Especially chapter 3 in each class is particularly dire
  2. I have to ask... what game is that??? Edit: Yes, unashamed chainmail bikini and impractical armour fan since Maria Whitaker posed for Barbarian on the C64
  3. General Sir Nils Olav receives the King of Norway and perform troop inspections together: http://youtu.be/v6CcWRhr9sw
  4. Hey, it's simple math, a two-party system must be twice as good as a one-party system! I think you have to be raised with such a system to fully grasp it. Growing up in a system with 4-6 left and 4-6 right wing parties in parliament (depending on which decade), it always seemed strange when people spoke about political news from across the Atlantic and wondering how those two parties could represent so many people. Edit: As a young man, relatively ignorant of politics, I probably attributed it to Americans living in a very homogenous society.
  5. Why not? She's a power obsessed megalomaniac
  6. I'm not GD, but it's a situation where you have to keep the bigger picture in mind, like how likely is the candidate to actually damage the country. Trump may be the off the cuff talking buffoon with all the social grace of a British soccer hooligan from the 80's, but as mentioned previously in this thread, odds are he'll be mired down in opposition from both factions. Clinton on the other hand is devious, lying and manipulative enough to actually get active damage done over a 4 year period compared to "just" 4 years of the US being in a state of limbo.
  7. Body "language" >> Written Language
  8. Worst case scenario, I hear Russia welcomes political refugees from the US
  9. Suckers!.... (yeah I know, bad pun). Looks like they are off to a stormy relationship

I thought they had special mushrooms for everything in the Netherlands

Other than getting an aspirin after banging my head against a concrete pillar, I believe my only experience with painkillers was a shot of opium administered by nurse after waking up from surgery. Helped me sleep through the first night (scar was still sore as heck the following days, but nothing like the hours just after waking up). It was 30+ years ago, so they might use something else post-surgery these days. Sleeping through the "effects", I wouldn't know what I missed out on (if anything). Gromnir probably answered his own question in part, if taken together with a hefty dose of pain, it probably conditions the brain to not look forward to continue the experience. That's all speculation and guesswork of course. Edit: Duh, just reading TN's post, the shot administered after surgery was indeed also morphine, not opium. Did I mention it was a long time ago?
  12. Witcher 3 at 50% off... tempting, but I did promise myself not to buy more of those until I finally can bring myself to slog it through Witcher 2. It just fails completely to interest me the same way the first game did (which I replayed quite a few times). Might be the crappy interface, the even worse combat, not sure what it is that makes me want to forget about the game, like some unpleasant memory you want to repress.
  13. Dachshunds doesn't really have a body shape for much other that flat terrain.
  14. Reminds me of one of those candid camera shows from a time when it was a novelty. It was shortly after that Indiana Jones movie had been released and the rolling boulder scene was known from trailers everywhere (there was no youtube). Somebody had picked a narrow, winding and steep alley to put a very large polystyrene "rock" at the top end and the roll it down the alley. Peoples panic and trying to get out of the way of the tumbling "rock" was something to behold. Not really sure where to put this as the context isn't funny, but the incident self I did find so: God has a sense of humour? "US pastor Tony Perkins, who believes natural disasters are sent by God to punish gay people, has fled his flooded home in Louisiana."
  15. ...and here I thought Americans were generally opposed to the idea of big, controlling governments managing all aspects of society. What Trump suggests sounds like something out of an Orwellian novel
  16. Since Obsidian is based in California, we might see the Tyranny game in a new light....
  17. Not exactly my field, social sciences, but it looks like, as a rule of thumb, the more densely populated an area is, the more regulations are in place (regardless whether such regulations are justified or not).
  18. Tsk tsk tsk... we all know too much water is not good for you. It's for your own good they ban water. Joking aside, why don't they build some water pipelines from Alaska to California? I'm sure they have some ice they can melt up north and sell the water to their southern neighbours. Do they have excess water in Texas? There may be an opportunity there for making an extra buck for the poor, impoverished state
  19. I see Matt MacLeans beard is back... (was it ever gone?)
  20. Waiting patiently (or not so patiently) for reference checks to be made and hope they check out Ok. Maybe I should have added a lot more names to the list.
  21. I'll grab some popcorn and wait for the entertainment industry to get up to speed... there is bound to be made movies about this election. From comedy over drama to horror.
  22. Eh? It's been so long since I've been a citizen that I've forgotten that it's like.
  23. Split off the quest for immortality in it's own thread because it deserves to live forever.
  24. You know, once the sun starts getting hotter, real estate prices on Mars are going to boom. Might be worth considering a portfolio there.
  25. It was a nice idea for a story. Reminiscent of the Imperial Agent story (thematically) which is all about free will vs. manipulation and control. Unfortunately the "episodic" format completely wrecked the experience. My Imperial dvl event alt was the first (and so far only) toon to complete chapter 16. Now that the first season is all released, I *might* consider finishing it on the other alts that I started it on. Class stories are fun. Levelling up new alts is the only saving grace the game has at the moment as doing the 76th DF/DP combo or the 162th HM EV/KP run has gone stale a long time ago, sadly, as ops is the only group content I find fun in the game by now.
