  1. That's like saying that Hitler should have let himself be killed in WW1 because that would have prevented WW2. In retrospect, it's true. In retrospect too, if Obi-Wan had let Maul cut him down, Anakin would have never been trained, and therefore, the Jedi would have not been wiped out. There was no way for Exar to know what awaited him. At that point, and as far as he could think, his death was meaningless. It's no wonder Exar was afraid, the only thing that stood between him and certain death was the dark side. Jedi don't succumb to fear because they have the Force to reassure themselves. How do you think Obi-Wan would react if facing Vader he suddenly found he was cut off from the light side? He let himself be killed because he knew he would become 'more powerful than you can imagine'. Exar didn't choose to embrace the evil or give in to his passions. He just chose to live, because there would be no gain from his death. That's what anyone would have done in those circumstances.
  2. I agree, he could have chosen to die. Sacrifices are not unheard of in the SW universe. But there's a difference between sacrifice and meaningless death. Exar's death would have served no purpose at all, so there was no reason for him to die.
  3. Uh, there's still a Republic out there, you know. It's just they're on the losing side of the war. And you are the last known Jedi. But since you can recruit Kreia, the handmaiden, the disciple perhaps, and we know of Atris, it's obvious you're not the last Jedi. It was much worse in ESB if you ask me, with Luke and his clueless sis being the last hope of the galaxy, and the Alliance taking a serious beating.
  4. Ok. But Ulic had an excuse to fall to the dark side even without that lame venom. He was consumed by rage of the death of his master, and he had been led to believe the light was not powerful enough to deal with the Krath. On the other hand, Exar was cut off from the light side of the Force, not once, but twice, compelling him to turn to the dark to save his life. Where's the dark in that? I was led to believe that darksiders embraced the dark willingly, and precisely that's what made them evil. Exar had no choice, thus being not evil, but a sorry ass victim. I don't think he was that powerful, anyway. He managed to beat his old master, which was using a wooden staff, and he needed a lightstaff to do that. Impressive, no doubt. The only Jedi Knight he ever faced in lightsaber combat was Ulic, which he couldn't best. That and the fact that his dark side powers were in great measure granted by his Sith amulets don't speak very highly of Exar's abilities. So much for the greatest Sith lord ever...
  5. Yeah, never thought I'd see a Borg Sith Lord. Oh well, at least he's not a jawless moron in a red jumpsuit... Bounty hunting usually involves killing. It's not very efficient to stun all of your target's bodyguards while you try to capture their boss. You see, they may wake up and do what the're payed for. Not to mention it's safer to transport a corpse than a live prisoner. The only thing that prevents a bounty hunter from killing their targets everytime is that usually, the bounty is higher if the prisoner is alive. A bounty hunter that only killed as a last resort would not be very good at her job. The whole idea holds no water.
  6. To each his own. I think he's little more than a thug with delusions of grandeur, and the way he was forced to accept the dark side was lame. Ulic Qel-Droma was a much deeper and far more credible character, even despite all that Krath venom crap.
  7. I had the same problem the first time I loaded the page. I think I just let it load completely before messing with it, and everything was fine. If you need to install the macromedia stuff, it really depends on what browser you are using, and I think if you don't have it, the browser automatically gives you the option to install it.
  8. How come it's not possible IRL to get a 'silver' colored beam of light? If it's a colour you can see (silver is the color of the light reflected by the metal of the same name), it's because there's a radiation with an associated frequency which the human eye perceives as that color. That said, it shouldn't be more difficult to get a silver beam than a beam of any other color. [/nerd]
  9. Pleasure droids all the way, baby!
  10. Well, the Sith weren't really human in the beginning... they were Sith. So it doesn't make much sense that for some reason they become racist one day. That was just a lame way to make the Sith look more evil. Duh.
  11. Well, I think there are two possible explanations for that. First, the Jedi lied to the PC, plain and simple. Telling the PC all that BS would probably be easier than telling the truth and facing the questions that would arise. After all the Jedi did use you, DS or LS. The other explanation is the Obi-Wan quote about things depending on how you look at them. After all, hate and rage are what drove Malak to betray Revan in the first place. It's a long shot, but I don't think that is a mistake on Bioware's part. What I didn't really like is that you had to go through all the errand-boy stuff in Korriban, if you played it after you discovered your identity. It just doesn't make sense. The Dark Lord of the Sith wouldn't waste his time with such petty matters. He would just instead choke to death anyone who dared to oppose him.
  12. What, did you actually expect him to kill Obi-Wan? This is SW we're talking about man. "
  13. Not bad, it kinda suits him better that way. However, if you recompress it as a JPEG, maybe more people will be willing to download.
  14. So? There's no need to start new topics every 5 seconds, just for the sake of it, you know. If there's nothing useful/interesting/meaningful to post, then by all means, don't.
  15. i think craigboy is a immature lil publess boy who doesnt get the fact if you dont like my posts then why waste your time and post here. I havent been on the forums in like 2 months, and im making up for it lil one. So go read a book, or wait till you balls drop, but till then dont talk <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Let me guess. You have been spending those 2 months in the Lucasarts forums, right?
  16. That is actually a good idea. A good ol' Sith sword and definitely some more clothing could make Sion a credible Sith Lord.
  17. Is there a point to all this nonsense?
  18. I guess before deciding if I want an evil wookie, first you should define 'evil'. You mean evil in the 'I'm gonna help Czerka enslave all the wookies just so I have an excuse to slaughter 'em' way, or evil in the 'give me all your money or else...!' way? "
  19. Well, there's really nothing to see or do in Rhen Var since it's a deserted world. So I'm guessing either Yavin IV or Coruscant. But I don't think there's much to do in Coruscant either, so...
  20. You mistake being passionate for being a bad-mannered thug.
  21. The problem I see with that is, since the terentateks and the Jedi brats' remains are scattered throughout 3 out of 4 planets, it's easy that Dantooine gets blasted before you could complete that quest. That and the fact that you are given no clues about the location of the terentateks, make all that business more of a curiosity than a feasible quest. But now that I think of it, I believe you could tell that guy in the enclave about the terentatek, and he was impressed or something.
  22. That sort of things provided only a small amount of DS points. And I don't think romancing Bastila resulted in any DS points at all. No, the majority of DS points in the game came from 'give me your money or else...!'.
  23. Was that supposed to be a quest? If you take a second to read those datapads you found everywhere, you end up learning what happened to them.
