  1. Showing off, are we? <_<
  2. Do I sense the flourishing of a new PC vs Xbox thread? Yay! )
  3. Yeah. These days the only spoiler-free threads are either pure spam or dark vs light polls... I guess I'll be leaving soon too.
  4. Don't bother, I took an oath.
  5. I am tempted to vote for Revan just to throw it back into chaos...
  6. There's no better smiley than that when you absolutely, positively need a randomly placed smiley.
  7. May I suggest you try some of the Forgotten Realms games? They would surely accomodate you better... "
  8. FFS not again.
  9. So you actually pay people for doing nothing? You might as well send ME the money. At least I'll thank you.
  10. Yeah, I love him too. :D No can do... "
  11. The overall quality of these books is raised artificially because they are set in a well known and loved universe. If they were just sci-fi/fantasy books set in unknown universes made up by the authors, I don't think they would be 'bearable'. The New Republic trilogy is Zahn's Thrawn trilogy.
  12. Psychologically conditioned to not care that your family and everyone you grew up with is dead? Sorry, the US military puts you on leave if something 1/10 as bad happens whether you want the leave or not. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Read before posting. Not caring is impossible. I meant not being distracted from the task at hand by it. And I doubt very much the US military would put you on leave if the homeland was being invaded. A soldier needs to be prepared for real war, not surgical strikes.
  13. Examples, you mean? I can give you none. I proud myself in not having read any of them. I suffered enough with the New Republic trilogy, thank you very much, and it's regarded pretty highly among SW books from what I see. Again, what literary awards have the SW books received? Hmm?
  14. No, but you are a lousy soldier if you allow that to distract you from your duties. Soldiers are psychologically conditioned to prevent this kind of stuff from happening. This guy seemed like he didn't go to the academy that day. If instead of a soldier, he'd been a farmer, then I would understand.
  15. By crap I mean literature whose quality is next to zero. If these books weren't set in the SW universe, no one would ever read them. A book which is not good enough by itself, is a thrash book, by definition. And no, I wasn't abused by EU in my childhood. I was lucky enough not to run into the Exar Kun fiasco until I was already an adult, so I suffered no permanent damage from exposure to it. I was just saddened to see a saga I liked such as SW be perverted in such a distasteful way. Since from what I read from these posts the books follow the same trend, the further I stay from them, the better. )
  16. Yeah really reading Shatterpoint or Republic series is a real torment - but only if someone is as dumb as you to understand content of any book. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, buddy. If you read carefully I said BOOK, not comic. The Republic series is pretty good, if only because they have to stay consistent with the prequels. You really shouldn't call somebody dumb just because they don't intend to waste their time with crap literature like that. Sorry I hurt your feelings, but that's what it is, like it or not. Oh and one other thing. You are picking on the wrong guy for a flame war.
  17. Well, thank you guys. If anything, this thread has convinced me not to ever read a SW book again. I am grateful for the unending hours of agony you have saved me.
  18. I would, but... it buuuurns! :'(
  19. The site doesn't like you. Sorry, it's very picky.
  20. Yeah, so... am I the only one who realizes this guy's only goal is to shamelessly troll? "
  21. Yes. **** is a most offensive expression, just like **** and ****. I am grateful I can't read **** every time someone types it. ^_^
  22. Um, so, if you like it, it's canon. If you don't, then it's a weak argument? Now that's what I call overwhelming logic. Lucas may have written Exar's profile, but I don't think he would give him his uber munchkin
  23. Ok, time for some good ol' EU bashing. :D Yes, it was like... 'yeah, yeah, do whatever you want. Now where's my money?' Supposedly Lucas also had a hand in the creation of those horrid EU books in which Chewie is absurdly murdered. I don't think he would have either of these things in a movie. Lame? No, no. Choking a poor admiral and frying some Jedi wannabe with lightning is not lame. It's reasonable. Draining thousands of beings from their life essence, having a Force cannon for an arm, and brainwashing Jedi in the blink of an eye, now that is lame. Not quite. He did know that Ulic's attack would fail. He didn't seem to care at all, for he didn't prepare any contingency plans in the event of a more than likely republic counterstrike. Palpatine may have underestimated Vader's humanity, but Exar Kun was blind to say the least, or just dumb. Enough bashing for now.
  24. That pretty much sums it up. Good line.
