Who Do You Think Should Make KOTOR III?
213374U replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Irrelevant. What really matters is that he had no heightened perception or reflexes whatsoever. He had to rely on his physical dexterity and experience to wield his weapon effectively, and that is something any non force-sensitive can do with enough training. -
Who Do You Think Should Make KOTOR III?
213374U replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Wrong. Ulic Qel-Droma held off an attack by another Jedi with his lightsaber when he had already lost his connection to the Force. You don't need to be Force-sensitive to wield a lightsaber, only careful. And as for who to develop K3, well I don't care as long as it's not LA, Troika, or Bethesda. " -
It does get worse slowly. After an hour of playing or so, walking around in a hub area is not hard, it's *impossible*. I didn't make the memory leak issue up, you can look up any number of other BL forums and you will see it as well. No. The minimum specs are supposed to run the game and make it playable. No extras, no eye candy, but you will be able to play the game. Which actually is the case with most games, HL2 comes to mind. Valve used their engine well, Troika didn't. 'Nuff said.

I have 768 Mb RAM and still the game runs and load like CRAP even in minimum graphic detail. This game has a serious memory leak problem which hasn't been addressed. Sure, it runs fine on a NASA computer, but that's not the way it was supposed to be. And if the publisher/developer lies about the minimum system specs, that's not my problem. Yet another reason not to pay for it.

Low tolerance is an understatement. I have zero tolerance for chronic technical issues in retail products when I'm running them in a PC which is over the minimum system requirements.

Dude. Where Fallout meets Vampire?

There's a lot of confusion about the details concerning the Antediluvians. I remember reading somewhere that the Nosferatu Antediluvian launched a nuclear strike circa 2000. Also, it's unclear if Brujah and Troile were male or female, if the Assamite Antediluvian is actually a member of the Second Generation... it's a mess since many books contradict each other in the details.
-
'A member of the dreaded Third Generation.' Antediluvian literally means 'predating the Deluge', go figure. These guys supposedly are the oldest vampires in existance beside Caine himself since the first and second generations were wiped out somehow (arguably by the very third generation). They control the Jyhad from torpor and stuff. They are the bringers of apocalypse in the V:tM mythos.

Barlast on Bloodlines (SPOILERS GALORE)
213374U replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
Casual V:tM PnP player at most, yes. Whenever I get together with my group I always try to convince them to have a Vampire session but they'd rather play SW or D&D most of the times. Since I don't have the books myself, I'd be pretty lousy as a storyteller anyway. :"> -
Barlast on Bloodlines (SPOILERS GALORE)
213374U replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
Yeah right. So for KotOR 3 we should have Revan becoming Darth Vader, Mr Bean as the Emperor, and they would have to stop the Exile from stealing Christmas. How 'bout that? Fanfics are bad enough, last thing we need is games based on fanfics. *cringe* Again, a setting is not only the world that makes it up, it's also its plots. If you don't like the setting, well, sorry. It's not going to be changed for you. An anticlimax is bad? How so? You might not like them, but that doesn't make them bad. And as for a GM not allowing you to die if you had it coming, well, sorry but that would suck as a GM since there would be no emotion in playing whatsoever. One of the things I like most of PnP is that if you screw up, you can't just press 'quickload' and everything's fine. You might want a dramatic ending for your character and the campaign, but if you haven't played your cards well, it's only fair that your character dies trying. I can understand your not liking BL's ending, and I respect that. But your personal preferences don't shape the world, and you aren't going to convince me that the ending is bad per se, inadequate, or that it's not an end fitting for a RPG campaign. -
ANNOUNCEMENT:Referring To Bug Fixs In K2!

You could have waited for the PC version... " -
I find it highly disturbing that five people voted yes.

Yeah, I enjoyed it. I have said so several times, maybe not in this particular thread but I sure did in the other one. Nothing to be ashamed of. I don't know about that. I just started another playthrough of FO and it's still great. Since the flamethrower doesn't require any skills to be used whatsoever, I think it was included with the sole purpose of allowing certain type of characters to beat Ming Xiao. Any character can use the flamethrower.
-
No, I don't make a habit of it. I only do it when I have too much time on my hands and nothing better to do. :">

Yet another comment loaded with ignorance, from the anti-logic master himself, Volourn. Not that I need to justify myself to you, but I think I will just prove a point. I didn't steal the game. I rented it, just like I do with every computer game that interests me before putting my money on it. Don't vent the frustration that spending $50 on a beta causes you at me, it's not my fault you buy sub-standard quality products. "

Nice shot, sir.

Barlast on Bloodlines (SPOILERS GALORE)
213374U replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
Guess you want them to ignore the canon storyline of the setting just to respect that rule of storytelling? Not gonna happen. And it's a pretty dumb rule if you ask me. I says that anticlimaxes work fine in books but not in RPGs just because players took their time in playing the story? That's BS. You spend a lot of time reading a book too and can be disappointed by an anticlimactic ending just as easily. Picture this, the most anticlimactic ending of them all: the player dying because of a stupid action or an error in judgement. It happens all the time in RPGs. Furthermore, note that those are not 'rules', but storytelling guidelines, most likely aimed to newcomers to the world of RPGs. It's a matter of the ending being good or not, consistent with the story or not, but in the end it all comes down to your personal tolerance of anticlimactic endings. What you want is a slideshow ending a la FO. Yes, that would be nice. Not that many games have these nowadays, but it still would be nice anyway. -
Damn straight. I spent my time playing it twice because I had nothing better to play. I spent my time suffering this poor assembled game because the story and roleplaying behind it are great. However, no matter how much you might like a Ferrari, by no means are you going to pay for one that dies every 10 km. Sorry, I don't buy unfinished products. Playing betas is fine, paying 50 bucks for them is not. Err... I beat Ming Xiao with a Ventrue which lacked any combat skills whatsoever. Just keep that flamethrower aimed at her and everything will be fine. With a melee-oriented character that fight's a pushover. All you need is a good blade weapon (I'd recommend the katana or bush hook but the fire axe will do fine) and Celerity and she will be down before you notice. However I agree with you that the quality of the game degrades after Hollywood. The Nosferatu warrens I just hated and Chinatown had a ridiculously low amount of sidequests. Guess they got tired of working on their own game. No, it's not. If it was, it would be warned in the minimum system requirements. And in case you haven't been reading, people with high-end systems have been experiencing the same problems. I can never get enough of people claiming it's not a problem in the game just because it runs fine for them. It's such a well thought argument.

Go troll elsewhere.

Suckage.

It's more accurate to say that the JK series are the only games which have ever been intended to be a lightsaber combat simulation. So there aren't other games to compare to. I know it wasn't an action game, but I liked the KotOR lightsaber combat animations much better than JO/JA lightsaber combat.
-
You don't know that. Random assumptions won't help you make a point. Well, the ending not being of your liking doesn't make it a bad. I for one liked it and it's one of the few endings these days that is not epic. I'm kinda tired of the same cliched Save/Destroy The Universe plots which every game seems to have these days. Maybe your problem is that you don't like a setting in which the 'hero' of the story usually ends up enjoying a nice sunrise?
-
Your not liking all the Gehenna business isn't neither Troika's fault nor WW's. Technically, the game being consistent with the setting is not a flaw in it. That's a matter of preference. Surely you were not expecting they would 'fix' the ending in a patch, were you?
