I find it highly disturbing that five people voted yes.

Yeah, I enjoyed it. I have said so several times, maybe not in this particular thread but I sure did in the other one. Nothing to be ashamed of. I don't know about that. I just started another playthrough of FO and it's still great. Since the flamethrower doesn't require any skills to be used whatsoever, I think it was included with the sole purpose of allowing certain type of characters to beat Ming Xiao. Any character can use the flamethrower.

No, I don't make a habit of it. I only do it when I have too much time on my hands and nothing better to do. :">

Yet another comment loaded with ignorance, from the anti-logic master himself, Volourn. Not that I need to justify myself to you, but I think I will just prove a point. I didn't steal the game. I rented it, just like I do with every computer game that interests me before putting my money on it. Don't vent the frustration that spending $50 on a beta causes you at me, it's not my fault you buy sub-standard quality products. "

Nice shot, sir.

Barlast on Bloodlines (SPOILERS GALORE)
213374U replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
Guess you want them to ignore the canon storyline of the setting just to respect that rule of storytelling? Not gonna happen. And it's a pretty dumb rule if you ask me. I says that anticlimaxes work fine in books but not in RPGs just because players took their time in playing the story? That's BS. You spend a lot of time reading a book too and can be disappointed by an anticlimactic ending just as easily. Picture this, the most anticlimactic ending of them all: the player dying because of a stupid action or an error in judgement. It happens all the time in RPGs. Furthermore, note that those are not 'rules', but storytelling guidelines, most likely aimed to newcomers to the world of RPGs. It's a matter of the ending being good or not, consistent with the story or not, but in the end it all comes down to your personal tolerance of anticlimactic endings. What you want is a slideshow ending a la FO. Yes, that would be nice. Not that many games have these nowadays, but it still would be nice anyway. -
Damn straight. I spent my time playing it twice because I had nothing better to play. I spent my time suffering this poor assembled game because the story and roleplaying behind it are great. However, no matter how much you might like a Ferrari, by no means are you going to pay for one that dies every 10 km. Sorry, I don't buy unfinished products. Playing betas is fine, paying 50 bucks for them is not. Err... I beat Ming Xiao with a Ventrue which lacked any combat skills whatsoever. Just keep that flamethrower aimed at her and everything will be fine. With a melee-oriented character that fight's a pushover. All you need is a good blade weapon (I'd recommend the katana or bush hook but the fire axe will do fine) and Celerity and she will be down before you notice. However I agree with you that the quality of the game degrades after Hollywood. The Nosferatu warrens I just hated and Chinatown had a ridiculously low amount of sidequests. Guess they got tired of working on their own game. No, it's not. If it was, it would be warned in the minimum system requirements. And in case you haven't been reading, people with high-end systems have been experiencing the same problems. I can never get enough of people claiming it's not a problem in the game just because it runs fine for them. It's such a well thought argument.

Go troll elsewhere.

Suckage.

It's more accurate to say that the JK series are the only games which have ever been intended to be a lightsaber combat simulation. So there aren't other games to compare to. I know it wasn't an action game, but I liked the KotOR lightsaber combat animations much better than JO/JA lightsaber combat.

You don't know that. Random assumptions won't help you make a point. Well, the ending not being of your liking doesn't make it a bad. I for one liked it and it's one of the few endings these days that is not epic. I'm kinda tired of the same cliched Save/Destroy The Universe plots which every game seems to have these days. Maybe your problem is that you don't like a setting in which the 'hero' of the story usually ends up enjoying a nice sunrise?
-
Your not liking all the Gehenna business isn't neither Troika's fault nor WW's. Technically, the game being consistent with the setting is not a flaw in it. That's a matter of preference. Surely you were not expecting they would 'fix' the ending in a patch, were you?

No, this is a consequence of the gaming industry mass-producing sub-standard quality products. Welcome to the 21st century.

Excellent. In no time we will not be getting manuals at all. I mean, what's the point of having a manual which explains what you learn in the first two minutes of playing? Those guys at Valve really know their stuff. They understand that manuals are really pointless so they just included a single sheet listing the key configuration, so you can just toss the disk in and start the madness. LA had better learn from them. Unfinished games with useless manuals. I love this stuff.

Hard work isn't always a synonim of *good* work.
-
No, in fact it's pretty bold of them to claim that *most* of the performance issues are to blame on insufficient hardware when people whose PC specs are way over the minimal requirements are complaining about the same piss poor performance in crowded areas. It doesn't look like they have fixed the memory leaks or random desktop crashes which affect most players, either. This patch only upgrades the game from the Alpha stages, to a nice Beta. Cool!

Yeah, those two are teh suck. I downloaded it from Gamershell, no queues, no BS.

The SoL bug was solved long ago by an unofficial patch by some dude. Troika's claiming that the craptacular performance of the game is to blame on the users' computers is plain stupid, even more so considering that HL2 runs fine, and it's way more complex map and model-wise. I'm fearing that fixing those problems would require a major revision on their usage of the engine and probably couldn't be fixed through a patch. Nah, it's much better to deny any responsibility than admit that their job at adapting the Source engine just sucks. I'm glad I didn't buy this game and if I had any intention of doing so they have helped me decide against it. At least this patch means I will have

Those are good news. I'm going to try it now. However, Activision once again proves what a crappy company they are by not sponsoring the patch in any of their pages. Way to go!

Yeah, but on later playthroughs you might need to play with your eyes closed if you want something of a challenge. "

No, I don't think it's got anything to do with common sense. It's just the internet has the unfortunate effect of turning some people into total jerks.

So...Who pre-ordered the PC version?

Yes, but only in a very silly and sad way.

Don't ask me, I'm not that old. All I know is we no longer get ships loaded with gold and silver, and it's not because of british pirates. It sucks if you ask me.
