  1. Not as badly as some of the latest spam that's popping up lately... "
  2. Yeah, that's one of the things I didn't like about BL. Even though it's true that the Sabbat usually Embrace en-masse to get shock troops and loads of cannon fodder, the higher echelons of the sect and those carefully chosen for the Embrace have a longer unlife expectancy. Only the 'shovelheads' appear in the game, unless you count Andrei, and yes, those tend to die rather quickly and gruesomely.
  3. This discussion is beginning to feel familiar... Unfortunately, we are in a minority with respect to the gamers that want easy games. I don't hold my hopes very high in regards to games becoming as hard as they used to be, or at the very least, harder than they are now.
  4. I have yet to see a single idea that might be good for a MMORPG. Maybe it's just the whole MMORPG idea is flawed? "
  5. Obsidian Entertainment - A division of Bioware Corporation.
  6. It's more of a problem with how Jedi classes are balanced in the D20 than anything else. Usually, a character's power is divided between their equipment and their abilities, but that is not the case with Jedi. These guys are deadly with no equipment at all. Not really. The battles should be designed in such a way that the player's weaknesses were exploited. Be it attacks needing a successful Will save, cornering the player and using carbonite projectors, or whatever. I don't like the idea of having buffed out enemies which don't make sense storywise just so they are a challenge for the player.
  7. Yes, I've noticed that anything that's not in harmony with your preconceptions is irrelevant to you. Very sad if you ask me.
  8. That's assuming a whole lot. Even though the game mechanics allow for uber munchkin PCs, that doesn't mean there can't be challenging situations. A couple of thermal detonators could mean trouble for the player, for example. What I saw in K1 is not as much a problem with game mechanics as it a lack of creativity when designing battles. Usually no enemies will make use of anything else that whatever it's on their hands. Not even combat feats FFS! I don't like the level cap being raised past 20, but if they were going to do it, they should have balanced it with something. Be it more complex battles, or a completely different level scaling system. Anyway, I will not judge a game before I play it, unlike you do. Prejudices are always a bad thing.
  9. Yeah, I didn't try to take the blame away from Obsidian. If Obsidian decided that there wasn't enough time for the Live features to be in, and LA allowed it, then both are to blame, obviously. However the final decision rested in the hands of whoever is in charge at LA.
  10. You should email Valve telling them of your problem. It would be nice if you let them know the incredible amount of ass Steam sucks, too. Maybe next time they will think twice before trying to authenticate personally evey f*cking copy of HL2.
  11. ROFL. And what exactly have you seen? A bunch of biased reviews? It's been a long time since I have actually seen a review which actually said a game is bad. At most they will say something like 'wasn't as good as expected' or something like that. I find it really sad when people allow others to define what's good and what's not for them. It seems to me like you are pretty biased yourself and the hype as gotten to you already. Too bad for you. Err... Hades man, you know I usually agree with you in these matters but this is somewhat irrational. You haven't even seen the PC version yet and you already consider it crap. Chill man, it's still not out there. There might be hope for K2 yet.
  12. I'm not sure as to whom was responsible for leaving the Live feature out. I think I remember some dev post saying that since they didn't have enough time to do everything, Live was going to be left out, but LA probably had something to say about it.
  13. Yeah dude. They ain't releasing 'Democrat Commando', what gives? I'm sure this is some sort of conspiracy involving Halliburton or something.
  14. That's some pretty serious **** to say in a dev's boards. I may not be the most indicated person to say anything about it since I can rent PC games and try them beforehand, but in your case, I would recommend patience, and see if Obsidian really intends to fix the bugs. Patience means you may not waste $50 on an unworthy game.
  15. Ain't a pirated version supposed to be *free*? If that's not a contradiction, then nothing is.
  16. Yep, that's probably the path any sireless fledgeling would have taken. Despite all its flaws I must say that the game excelled at allowing you to play sneaky. Even though you were used and abused everytime by older and smarter vampires... I must say I would have been rather surprised if everything had happened as the PC expected. After all, deception is a major element of the WoD, and the elder a vampire is, the more steps ahead of you they are. A young vampire with too much lust for power is just begging for Final Death (unless you belong to the Sabbat, that is "). I can understand your disliking the 'anticlimax' endings, but what's wrong with the Camarilla and true anarch endings?
  17. What has he stolen? As of yet, nothing. I didn't say he's stolen anything, yet. He seems to approve of downloading the PC version of the game just because he payed for the Xbox version. That's stealing by my book. )
  18. There was this mod which allowed you to have everyone's favorite evil bondage wizard, Jon Irenicus himself, in your party for ToB. It featured a subplot around Jon and long and deep dialogues with him. The mod added at least one new sidequest that I can remember, plus Irenicus-party and Irenicus-NPC banter & squabbling. It also tweaked the last part of ToB (final battle and dialogues) and added Irenicus to the character 'slideshow' depending on your actions. Pretty good mod if you ask me. I don't remember the mod's name but I can look it up for you if you'd like to take a look.
  19. In a perfect world that might happen. PC code is a load of unoptimized crap. Get used to it. Yeah, and in a perfect world I might pay for something that sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, but never works as intended. In a perfect world for Craptivision, that is. Some games are way more unoptimized than others anyway. You have admitted that HL2 is great at hardware scaling. Which proves that it is actually possible. Why should I expect anything less? Am I supposed to stand for anything less? I still refuse to get a state-of-the-art PC just so a bunch of lazy/incompetent developers don't have to do their job. No way I'm going to support that kind of lousy work. Because in doing so, I would actually be encouraging them to keep doing it the same way. It might not be much, but it's my silent protest against the last trend of the gaming industry of delivering games without sufficient QA. Maybe you are used to it, but I won't. If that means I won't ever buy another game again, so be it.
  20. Wow, that's pretty harsh. However, the truth is harsh sometimes, too. "
  21. That's pretty rich. It's a rather poor argument to say that the game's hardware requirements should be higher than what the devs expected them to be just because the game is suffering from memory leaks and other code flaws. First, optimize the code, then, optimize the hardware. Doing it the other way around is plain stupid. And I do have a 128 Mb card which runs every other game just fine. No, there is no excuse for this game being screwed so badly.
  22. Again, those two are subjective points. There's no point in discussing if your preferences are better or worse than anyone else's.
