  1. Yeah dude. They ain't releasing 'Democrat Commando', what gives? I'm sure this is some sort of conspiracy involving Halliburton or something.
  2. That's some pretty serious **** to say in a dev's boards. I may not be the most indicated person to say anything about it since I can rent PC games and try them beforehand, but in your case, I would recommend patience, and see if Obsidian really intends to fix the bugs. Patience means you may not waste $50 on an unworthy game.
  3. Ain't a pirated version supposed to be *free*? If that's not a contradiction, then nothing is.
  4. Yep, that's probably the path any sireless fledgeling would have taken. Despite all its flaws I must say that the game excelled at allowing you to play sneaky. Even though you were used and abused everytime by older and smarter vampires... I must say I would have been rather surprised if everything had happened as the PC expected. After all, deception is a major element of the WoD, and the elder a vampire is, the more steps ahead of you they are. A young vampire with too much lust for power is just begging for Final Death (unless you belong to the Sabbat, that is "). I can understand your disliking the 'anticlimax' endings, but what's wrong with the Camarilla and true anarch endings?
  5. What has he stolen? As of yet, nothing. I didn't say he's stolen anything, yet. He seems to approve of downloading the PC version of the game just because he payed for the Xbox version. That's stealing by my book. )
  6. There was this mod which allowed you to have everyone's favorite evil bondage wizard, Jon Irenicus himself, in your party for ToB. It featured a subplot around Jon and long and deep dialogues with him. The mod added at least one new sidequest that I can remember, plus Irenicus-party and Irenicus-NPC banter & squabbling. It also tweaked the last part of ToB (final battle and dialogues) and added Irenicus to the character 'slideshow' depending on your actions. Pretty good mod if you ask me. I don't remember the mod's name but I can look it up for you if you'd like to take a look.
  7. In a perfect world that might happen. PC code is a load of unoptimized crap. Get used to it. Yeah, and in a perfect world I might pay for something that sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, but never works as intended. In a perfect world for Craptivision, that is. Some games are way more unoptimized than others anyway. You have admitted that HL2 is great at hardware scaling. Which proves that it is actually possible. Why should I expect anything less? Am I supposed to stand for anything less? I still refuse to get a state-of-the-art PC just so a bunch of lazy/incompetent developers don't have to do their job. No way I'm going to support that kind of lousy work. Because in doing so, I would actually be encouraging them to keep doing it the same way. It might not be much, but it's my silent protest against the last trend of the gaming industry of delivering games without sufficient QA. Maybe you are used to it, but I won't. If that means I won't ever buy another game again, so be it.
  8. Wow, that's pretty harsh. However, the truth is harsh sometimes, too. "
  9. That's pretty rich. It's a rather poor argument to say that the game's hardware requirements should be higher than what the devs expected them to be just because the game is suffering from memory leaks and other code flaws. First, optimize the code, then, optimize the hardware. Doing it the other way around is plain stupid. And I do have a 128 Mb card which runs every other game just fine. No, there is no excuse for this game being screwed so badly.
  10. Funny how people try to justify their stealing.
  11. Again, those two are subjective points. There's no point in discussing if your preferences are better or worse than anyone else's.
  12. Irrelevant. What really matters is that he had no heightened perception or reflexes whatsoever. He had to rely on his physical dexterity and experience to wield his weapon effectively, and that is something any non force-sensitive can do with enough training.
  13. Wrong. Ulic Qel-Droma held off an attack by another Jedi with his lightsaber when he had already lost his connection to the Force. You don't need to be Force-sensitive to wield a lightsaber, only careful. And as for who to develop K3, well I don't care as long as it's not LA, Troika, or Bethesda. "
  14. It does get worse slowly. After an hour of playing or so, walking around in a hub area is not hard, it's *impossible*. I didn't make the memory leak issue up, you can look up any number of other BL forums and you will see it as well. No. The minimum specs are supposed to run the game and make it playable. No extras, no eye candy, but you will be able to play the game. Which actually is the case with most games, HL2 comes to mind. Valve used their engine well, Troika didn't. 'Nuff said.
  15. I have 768 Mb RAM and still the game runs and load like CRAP even in minimum graphic detail. This game has a serious memory leak problem which hasn't been addressed. Sure, it runs fine on a NASA computer, but that's not the way it was supposed to be. And if the publisher/developer lies about the minimum system specs, that's not my problem. Yet another reason not to pay for it.
  16. Low tolerance is an understatement. I have zero tolerance for chronic technical issues in retail products when I'm running them in a PC which is over the minimum system requirements.
  17. Dude. Where Fallout meets Vampire?
  18. There's a lot of confusion about the details concerning the Antediluvians. I remember reading somewhere that the Nosferatu Antediluvian launched a nuclear strike circa 2000. Also, it's unclear if Brujah and Troile were male or female, if the Assamite Antediluvian is actually a member of the Second Generation... it's a mess since many books contradict each other in the details.
  19. 'A member of the dreaded Third Generation.' Antediluvian literally means 'predating the Deluge', go figure. These guys supposedly are the oldest vampires in existance beside Caine himself since the first and second generations were wiped out somehow (arguably by the very third generation). They control the Jyhad from torpor and stuff. They are the bringers of apocalypse in the V:tM mythos.
  20. At last, someone that understands me.
  21. Casual V:tM PnP player at most, yes. Whenever I get together with my group I always try to convince them to have a Vampire session but they'd rather play SW or D&D most of the times. Since I don't have the books myself, I'd be pretty lousy as a storyteller anyway. :">
  22. Yeah right. So for KotOR 3 we should have Revan becoming Darth Vader, Mr Bean as the Emperor, and they would have to stop the Exile from stealing Christmas. How 'bout that? Fanfics are bad enough, last thing we need is games based on fanfics. *cringe* Again, a setting is not only the world that makes it up, it's also its plots. If you don't like the setting, well, sorry. It's not going to be changed for you. An anticlimax is bad? How so? You might not like them, but that doesn't make them bad. And as for a GM not allowing you to die if you had it coming, well, sorry but that would suck as a GM since there would be no emotion in playing whatsoever. One of the things I like most of PnP is that if you screw up, you can't just press 'quickload' and everything's fine. You might want a dramatic ending for your character and the campaign, but if you haven't played your cards well, it's only fair that your character dies trying. I can understand your not liking BL's ending, and I respect that. But your personal preferences don't shape the world, and you aren't going to convince me that the ending is bad per se, inadequate, or that it's not an end fitting for a RPG campaign.
  23. You could have waited for the PC version... "
