  1. Well, there were people defending the idea of Earth being flat until their webpage got hacked, not long ago. And as for your example, yes. If the confrontation with that person escalated into a situation in which my life was in danger, I wouldn't hesitate to use lethal force. But that's just me. How so? Obviously a nuclear blast will have more power to spread the nuclear waste, but as far as I know, radiation from the blast itself is pretty short-lived, albeit quite lethal.
  2. No. Memory leaks as in the game taking up more and more memory until there is not enough left for itself to run, at which point the game crashes. This seems related to area transitions, as performance degraded significantly with each subsequent transition. @alanschu: Yeah, well. I guess the game runs fine on NASA computers too, but they don't ask for one in the game requirements.
  3. I don't care. They started it. IIRC, there was a fire in one of the reactors. That fire triggered an explosion (or series thereof) which led to the collapse of the structure surrounding the reactor, and the emission to the atmosphere of large amounts of radiactive material. For all intents and purposes, it was a dirty bomb, albeit a very large one.
  4. I know that wearing a uniform makes you a more likely target. It doesn't make it any more acceptable, though. That was my only point.
  5. And I can contact Starfleet with it, too!
  6. Err... not to be raining on your party or anything, but the biggest issue people seemed to have with the game was its poor performance. And since that was caused by the game's use of an unpolished and poorly optimized early build of the Source engine, the patch doesn't fix it. Lots of people (myself included) reported the game suffering memory leaks, too.
  7. I thought dirty bombs could spread nuclear waste for tens of kilometres. And I also thought than a few hours in exposure was enough to ensure that your grandchildren will glow in the dark, as was the case with Chernobyl workers. But then again, I've been known to be wrong before.
  8. Yes, I know the "logic" behind that reasoning. But it's still based on the wrong premise that terrorism is an acceptable tool under certain circumstances. Sorry, but it's not. "When you attack ordinary citizens, it's just cruel" - Gold. Right, because when you attack soldiers, it's just business.
  9. I find that disturbing. Even though you probably didn't mean to imply so, that sounded like terrorist attacks on military targets are somewhat more acceptable. They aren't. Soldiers and police are people too, and they don't join those organizations to get blown to pieces in cowardly attacks by raving madmen. It's not in their contract.
  10. Err... do a quick search of MCA's threads and promptly delete that post. "
  11. Huh? Have you forgotten about the "Designer Ramblings" threads? MCA himself made a few of those.
  12. No need for that kind of stuff. Things are ugly enough as they are right now. The problem with this is the same as with 11-M and 11-S. Once again, they prove they can strike anywhere, anytime. I wonder how is Mr. Blair going to react.
  13. Are you per chance a relative of that Jodo guy?
  14. Hilarious. It usually goes like this: NATO/US get involved in some conflict: "WTF you think you're doing? Who died and made you the world's police? F'n yankees!" NATO/US decide not to get involved: "FFS help us we're geting pwned by such and such where the hell are you when we need you?" A rather hypocritical way of justifying one's bigotry and hate of the US.
  15. This may come in handy.
  16. Undeniable proof to back Nur's statements
  17. Tradition, I guess.
  18. Here we go again.
  19. Yeah, well. I still think it's a bit early to start pointing fingers.
  20. Heh. I was fearing this was one of those Eru-style prank threads.
  21. Well, some people suffer anorexia, and some people make 30 posts per day. "
  22. Oh? When the Madrid train bombings happened, it was proven that planning for the attacks had begun long before the war. Everyone blamed the current government for supporting the US and their war, even though originally the attacks had nothing to do with that. Don't be so quick to "point the obvious".
  23. Dancing ninja MASTER to you, youngster.
