Barlast on Bloodlines (SPOILERS GALORE)
Berserk replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
Ending slideshows a'la Fallout is alway great for RPG:s. I like to see what impact my actions had on the gameworld I've spent 15+ hours on. -
Did Minsc have a purple tatoo on his head or was it simply warpaint? Gotta admit I still get a chuckle when I play BG2 and Viconia comments on Minscs "Fingerpaint accident" :D

Boo is furry enough for both of them.

Shouldn't "Changing troublesome regimes since 1950" be more appropriate for the yank forces

Fulltime student that occasionly has kill, steal, burn and rob to make ends meet. Oh, and if the monthly quota isn't reached I work extra as a security guard. Actually had a Mkreku case where a guy hit me in the back once because "You ain't a cop so you can't do anything about it". Too bad that he was wrong "

I don't quite get the hostility over mana based magic systems, if it regenerates too quickly simply make it regenerate outside of combat or only during rest. I've always disliked the DnD system since it felt so restricting in terms of spell choice. I want to be able to choose any of my learned spells without needing to go through the tedious moments of the memorization that DnD uses. What is important when using a Mana based is making sure that you balance it properly. Start spamming fireballs left and right and you should be punished for it by not being able to regenarate your mana in combat, the point is still to make you choose smart. Mana recharging items such as mana potions should be severly restricted so you won't be able to make the magic system into a chug'aton that Diablo 2 is. Keep mana potions priceless items that you only want to use in the most dire of circumstances because of their limited availability or extravagant price. Just my own thoughts on how the mana system could be kept from Diablo 2 territory.

I've been looking for an RPG with similar gameplay elements as Gothic or Morrowind. Hopefully they can pull off a living world such as the Gothics and the freedom to create your own character as in Morrowind. I will definetly look for the demo.

You know what, if someone starts to fling a couple of nukes around the globe we might try this theory out for ourselves... Seriously though, isn't the Star Wars galaxy supposed to be a really big place so to speak? At these kind of distances shouldn't it be quite easy for large portions of the galaxy be isolated in case of a larger conflict or disaster wich would allow for the general tech level to degrade with time as starsystems slowly gets isolated from the rest of the galaxy? Some pockets of systems might exist that retains some level of hyperspace travel but not at the same level as before. Just my own musings, do what you want with them....

This question has been debated to death at the KOTOR boards on Biowares forum. The general explanation is that during this timeframe technology may have been lost and rediscovered as much of the timeline during these years are largely unexplored, maybe some great cataclysm or disaster/great war kicked the galaxy back a couple of millenia technologywise and when you reach the empire/rebellion era it has recovered sufficently.
-
How? I couldn't find a way. You can't kill him outside the deathmatch, see it as BIO was too lazy to implement more choices for that quest... God knows that has happened before with that company <_<

I've always felt that the Sentinel should have been more rogue inspired since it is basically a sneaky Jedi. Perhaps it should be given sneak attack just as the rogue and some other bonuses such as a superior sneak skill to compensate for its rather pissy feat progression and BAB. Whatever is done to the Sentinel I just hope that it gets a major overhaul since it's too much of a jack of all trades, master of none deal right now.

You "forgot" to use the force? oh, come on....
Berserk replied to Meshugger's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Except for Motta the Hutt of course! The mind trick is only supposed to work on the weak willed. I wouldn't expect a crime lord like Jabba to be weak willed. Watto's species might be immume to the mind trick because thier brains are very alien. Hutts may be alien enough to give them some resistance, but not enough for full immunity. I'd rather go with the "weakminded" theory( Wow, look mum, I'm a nerd ) Watto might have been a screwup in the technical department but he might have had some good bargainin skills and strong will to the point that simple "force persuasion" didn't work for him. If a whole race is force resistant wouldn't the jedi council know about it since it is an important deal for them to know? -

He/She survived against the Mandalorians. That has to mean something. Who is to say that the protagonist was involved in any of the fighting? Could be that you were part of a vanguard force that didn't see any action. Another explanation is that you were an apprentice during the wars and became a fullfledged level 1 Jedi during the fighting.... -
PLanets the same size? what?
Berserk replied to Mr. Teatime's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I loved Morrowind and disliked NWN aswell. What I feel that Morrowind needed(aside from better interface/inventory) was good quests and a better dialouge system. Although the majority of crappy quests where all you gain is 20 coins when you're already stinking rich was too common I blame the writers who came up with a great background and a living world but simply lost inspiration after that. If the KOTOR series had contained more Morrowind elements then I would be thrilled over this game, as it is now I'll probably buy it but not until the price drops a bit. Damn, gotta stop ranting.... -
I agree, bigger worlds are needed as some of the worlds in KOTOR was absurdly small..
-
Damn shame that we won't get to play as an force adept in KOTOR2 as that doesn't pigeonhole you as bad as a Jedi does. It's still munchkinny as hell but more interesting. Do any of you D20 players know what the advantages/disadvantages is as a force adept in gameplay terms? Revan: No prob..
-
Force Adept with a scoundrel streak. No philosophical Lightside/Darkside BS for me, the force is my ally and a damn profitable one also Revan: Scoundrel is a generalist name for thieves, thugs, smugglers, assassins and stuff like that.

If we get a Wookie this time as well he/she will probably be the owner of that ability since they are supposed to be able to enter a "rage" state..

Could be that she's only a bounty hunter by name and not by "class" so to speak.

No, being 'force' sensitive only means you can use the force. Then why is your character in KOTOR the only one with the "force sensitive" power? Just look at either your force power or feat tab in KOTOR, don't remember right now wich one it is... None of the other Jedi in your party has it. As far as I remember "force sensitivity" is supposed to represent a higher/superior connection to the force compared to other force users. Not in SW D20. ALL it means there is your character can use the force. Why is this different in KOTOR? Because it is inspired by D20 it is not a direct translation. As for why they called it "force sensitivity" instead of something else. Not really sure. maybe because it sounds kewl and casual gamers have no clue what D20 is? Fair enough, I guess that the developers needed something to show you that your character was really special.. Too bad that your special power only was to be able to hold 40 FP:s more than normal. Kinda like being able to hold your bladder longer than most people, it won't really benefit you in the long run but in some cases it can make a tiny difference...
