  1. Honestly I think they should have gone full middle finger mode like tides of numenera and switched to turn based combat.
  2. I'm happy to report that I am a goal-oriented person through and through. I have a hard time working with too process-oriented folks as well. Well yes thats basicaly the difference, when I was younger I liked to grind in RPG'S way more than now. It was nice to feal the increase of power it gave you and it brought you a little bit closer to the perfect build. Nowadays I honestly do not care because I realized that it does not change anything. Grinding through millions of monsters to get a level wont change the story, wont really change my experience and only delays the interesting parts of the game. Theirs nothing more frustraiting than beeing locked behind a grind gate bevor you can experience now content. Its the reason why people rush through all content bevor end level in all mmorpgs ever created.
  3. It rewards your accomplishments because all those activites, killing monsters, lockpicking locks, and so forth are done so you can solve a quest. The only way to win this or any similar game is by solving quests.
  4. Figher: No one left behind: The fighter graps a unconscious party member and "heals" it to 5% of its stamina. X uses per rest. Barbarian: One with the beast: For X seconds every party member deals damage with the might stat of the barbarian if its higher than the personal stat. Rogue: Trip wire: The rogue shots a arrow/bolt with a rope attached. Knocks down the enemy it hits. Only works with bows and crossbows.
  5. I don't know if they're any real guide but the ogre and spider queen seemed like mini-boss fights and iirc they didn't have any immunities to any cc abilities. Could it be that the spider queen is kinda bugged for me? She appears to be weaker than the average spider.
  6. About knockdown and other crowd control abilites, im curious about how they handle CC and boss fights. The usual approach in most RPG's is to make the boss immune to most forms of CC which makes those spells kinda pointless.
  7. Could it be that this is somehow related to drivers etc. because I never had that bug. I played 3 times through the beta and tested various stuff with random parties in the village.
  8. Call it arrow to the knee and wait how much rage you could generate from the elder scrolls hate crowd
  9. Uhm what? You dont get xp for kills = the number of killed enemies do not influence your reward
  10. I really like the idea because it would turn the druid into another caster-healer but with a different mechanic. He would be way more flexible because every spell = heal but the effect could be weaker. So the priest has big important heals and the druid can machine gun through his heals if needed. The one heal the Druid gets is a HoT (iirc I am not on my pc atm). I think making the Druid mostly HoT spells that didn't allow for burst healing would work. That particular idea would need limitations in frequency and/or potency. Well you could tie the power of the heal to the level of the original spell that you use

  12. Cipher: Soulfire: All fire damage in X radius around the cipher burns the soul of its victim, all fire damage deals extra damage to spirits, ghosts etc. Priest: Wrath of god: Interrupting the priest while casting a spell has a chance to trigger a god specific effect on the interrupter. Fighter: Shieldwall: The fighter adds a percentage shield based bonus the the deflection of nearby party members Rogue: Arcane thievery: Debuff a enemy unit, the thief can cast the next spell that the unit casts in a small time frame. Thief level needs to be X levels higher than the spell that is stolen. Fighter: Sharpshooter: You get a new stacking buff called targeting, it raises the ranged damage by x% per stack. If you move, get interrupted, take damage, switch targets or basicaly do anything beside autoattacking you lose the buff completly
  13. Druid: Call of the wild: You can call nearby wildlife to aid you in fight. X uses per rest Rogue: Living shield: You position yourself so that enemy attacks hiting you have a chance to instead hit the closest enemy (cant be the same enemy) X uses per rest Priest: Sacrifice: Cast on a friendly unit. The next attack hitting that target deal damage to the priest. X uses per rest Rogue: Against all odds: Creates a buff on the thief that says: "The next attack that would turn you unconscious will not deal damage and you get teleported randomly X feets away" Rogue: New ability type: Select a poison on level up, your melee attacks now have a chance to apply the poison specific debuff on your target. If you have more than one poison you can select wich one you like to use. Chanter: Chorus: The chanter sings so inspiring that every party member joins in and all chanter buffs get x% better per party member singing with him Fighter: No code of honor: The figter can select thief only skills. Ranger: Fight as one: Lvl 1 skill, the ranger has NO companion but gets bonuses depending on which companion he uses
  14. Wizard: Arcane focus: Every buff on you gives you X points of melee accuracy Monk: Empathy: Every time a near hero gets damaged you have a small chance to get a wound Wizard/Priest/Druid Shaped discharge: You can cast circle area spells with the cone shape Cipher: Soulstrike: You can focus your melee/ranged attack and strike at the enemy soul confusing the victim for X seconds. One use per encounter
  15. I dont know what the problem with the walking speed is. For me one of the most anyoing things about the IE games was the super slow exploration and waiting for ages when I wanted to exit a map.
  16. What do you mean with many? I count around 10 people posting in the beta forum which have real issues with the system for one reason or another. Considering that the forum has several hundreds of unique users I would call it a very vocal minority that tries to change things in their favor by screaming loud enough. The majority seems to be ok with it or just does not care.
  17. I think it would be a nice addition to replace the middle menu with a quick bar where you can put skills and spells of all your characters. So you have super quick access to the most used abilites. Clicking the icon on the quickbar > enemy or hero is alot faster than click hero > select menu > select spell > select enemy
  18. I suspect that the truth of the matter lies somewhere in between "combat is way, way too hectically fast" - and - "you just need to learn it!" Playing the demo for 1 week straight will probably result in: 1) you getting used to carrying out your party's second by second actions 2) you being able to glean more info-per-second from the blindly fast-scrolling combat log. But it will not change stuff like: 1)The speed of enemies 2)the opinions of people who want slower combat anyway A good way to enable you to do things faster would be giving the player quick slots which he can fill with skills/spells etc. Afaik almost nobody uses the middle part of the UI anyway so why not replace it with 10-20 empty slots. You could put your most used skills/spells of your party their so you only have to select an enemy and click a quicksloted ability to command it. Its 4 times faster than clicking your hero, selecting the spell level, selecting the spell and selecting the enemy. It would remove alot of pause button action. Let the player bind hot keys to those slots would be even better.
  19. You could have also selected your party and left clicked the weakest enemy instead of pausing constantly and thinking about the fight
  20. Theirs a bug with chanters. Sometimes the chanting doesnt stop when you are out of combat. Skeleton army :D
  21. Aeira is a teenager that wants a father figure and trys to bait you into a relationship out of guilt. Jaheira needs only some days of grief bevor she decides to jump into your pants. Vicona is a stupid teenage bitch that confuses deep character with being an ****. Yeah quality adult writing right their. Actually aeira was the best one of those three because it baits you into doing nasty things. She was quite anoying but at the same time made you feel guilty for beeing anoyed. Also she looks really alien do you really want to jump into her trousers. Edit: Sorry but thats what commes to my mind when I think about aeira. (not my idea found the pic on the web)
  22. Their are at least 3 ways to get to the temple, 2-3 ways to get through the temple and 5 or more ways to solve the problem, one of them is class specific.
  23. Hey look helm and stun raging in the same thread.
  24. Ahhh good old daggerfall in which you became the most powerfull magican by spamming spells at a wall that contained parts of each magic class.
  25. Give the wizard are talent thats called something like "arcane focus" and reads: Every buff on you gives you +X accuracy.
