  1. As much as I completly understand the decision why they removed basic arrows I agree that it does not feel good.
  2. Dunno for me baldur's gate is crazy new school. Excluding options because of personal preference or nostalgica isnt the best way to approach things. Now that we get that out of the way, I agree that a radial menu would become way to bloated in PoE with classes like the wizard. It worked in ToEE because you had time to select things. I assume that playing in real time at normal speed with some pauses is the way the dev's intended the game to be played. Clicking skills takes way to much time right now, especially if you have some characters like the BB rogue in your group that does one action every 4 seconds.
  3. Is it the same pile on which we throw space eating, blocky, UI's or do we have a seperate pyre for it?
  4. Why post in it? Because it slowly turned into captain ahab chasing the white whale of kill-xp. You wont get it, like some other things it wont change no matter how long you discuss it. I agree that it is disheartening to see thing not in the game that you personaly really like but at this point it doesnt matter anymore. Aim your effort at something that is not set in stone, deal with it and move along.
  5. Lowering the walk speed will not generate more content. I bet that most people will select double speed out of combat. It takes roughly half a minute to go from the upper right corner of dryford village to the center at standard speed. Increasing that might get quite tedious.
  6. I only comment on the ones I know Pride and Predjudice: Is a comment on growing up, morality, power and class divison in the english society. Anna Karenina: Is a comment on russian society, family and death. (...and like almost all russian books anti zarist) Gone with the wind: Portrait of the downfall of the southern american lifestyle. (Thats why Red Buttler did not give a damn because he symbolized the new area) Jane Eyre: Its a bout gender inequality and social class divison. Romeo and Juliet: Its about how dreams cannot survive reality. (Their are speculations that its also a comment on the queen which shakespeer disliked) All great stories use love as a vehicle to transport a deeper message. Thats why stuff like titanic is considered B-Grade. Love itself is not very interesting in stories because you dont need to explain it, you can always just say "those two are in love". It needs something else to make it important.
  7. Do we really need another thread deticated to this topic?
  8. it's not a rifle; it's a muzzle-loading primitive firearm. You have to lower them to reload them between shots. That's one animation that's IMO quite crucial. OK than make it so that he actually reloads it instead of just lowering it
  9. Their was one thing that really bothered me in combat and it was the placement of the skillbar. The combat in PoE is click heavy, you constantly need to use skills and it gets tedious very quickly because you have to move to your character, skill, enemy every time and on big screens the distance is quite long. My suggestion would be to either give us a hotkey that pops up a box with all skills of the selected character at the position of the mouse cursor or right clicking your character pops up a box with all skills of the character in it. It would make ordering stuff around way easier and thier is always the current implementation for people that prefer it.
  10. Please alter the combat animation when using a rifle, lowering the gun between shots really looks akward. It would look a lot better without any animation between shots.
  11. 1) Their seems to be a bug with summoned minions, mind controlled units etc. They sometimes do not show up as extra party members. 2) The problem is that it would take alot more mouse movement to make orders. Which would make combat quite anoying. The skills should be placed at the bottom for that exact reason. The current implementation would make it hard to use without hotkeys. My personal favourite would be to have a hotkey that opens the skill menu of the selected hero at the position of your mouse cursor. This is something Blizzard's WoW really did right and its a shame that almost no other game picked it up. Opening the UI API for everyone would improve alot of games.
  12. I like the main theme too for the same reason
  13. Their should be a company that is like Max Ernst OR Francis Bacon
  14. So this was our daily forum cage fight, rather harmless and neither helm nor stun took part in it. Well stun tried but wasnt really in top form today.
  15. I didn't mean your suggestion, it was a comment on the general uselessness of helmets compared to other rpg's.
  16. Floating numbers or feedback would help alot. It worked great in ToEE. The numbers right now appear at a weird place under the character and have a very hard to read font or color.
  17. Its more about hidding the spread sheet behind something more readable, also is their anyone on this forum that does not design Ui's?
  18. The helmet concept is one of those things that smell like a direct AD&D copy. (ok ok not really but you get what I mean)
  19. Well even if you accept or fully embrace the combat log idea you still need visual and audio clues for as much things as possible You cant read everything in the combat log, to much information (if you dont pause). Their are also mechanics that are more or less completly hidden right now like the engagement system.
  20. Nice cop-out. "Combat log is bad because 1999 and the info should be availabel otherwise." "How?" "Damned if I know, it's their job to figure out." Saying that its a band aid solution, what it is and knowing how to solve it are two different things. You can only improve things if you are willing to accept that they are not optimal.
  21. @ Sensuki and Karkarov That thing between you two, it has something to do with the eye scar right?
  22. Its crazy hard to add visual and audio feedback for every single thing in this game because it has the complexity of a turn based game. How to solve it? I dont know thats the dev's job because its actually really hard and cost a lot of time and money. Every spell would need a specific cast animation for example. Thats like how many spells?
  23. They cant really do anything, every post the devs would do would only generate rage from one side or another. InXile has no real forum for tides of numenera right now afaik. Which is a good thing cause else it would be a immense "why did you go turn based" s*it storm.
