  1. Because I'm impatient and plan on getting it as soon as it reaches the store..plus why waste $10 renting the two games?
  2. I've been trying to decide whether to buy EA's hockey game or Sega's. I'm getting it for the Xbox, and Sega's is $20 while EA's is $30. EA always has a much better Franchise mode, and that is important to me, but the last EA version had horrible gameplay and I switched to Sega. This year I tried the EA demo and it looks to be much improved. Which should I buy? The cost is really a non-issue.
  3. It's a shame that Damphousse didn't get one more year in, but he's retiring with 1,200 points and a heck of a final playoff run. If the Sharks had manged to beat Calgary, Damphousse would have had a good chance at the playoff MVP trophy. He was leading the Sharks in points. He was still very effective at his age as well, one of the best playmakers in the game.
  4. I really enjoyed the Transporter 2. It was a bit more outlandish than the original, but a highly enjoyable action romp. Jason Statham is a pretty likeable character too. Personally he's the top action star for my money right now. It also did very well at the box office.
  5. So Pavel Datsyuk turned down a 5 million dollar offer from Detroit to stay in Russia. I can respect staying at home, but his reasons seemed silly. He said he deserved as much as Dany Heatly and Joe Thornton... That's crazy, he's playing for Detroit. Heatley and Thornton have to work a lot harder to make thier teams good, because they are the majority of the talent. Even with Heatley changing teams, he's still going to be on the ice a lot. Datsyuk shouldn't expect Thornton money from Detroit, because he's surrounded by superstars. If he wants more money, he should find a team that NEEDS him to get to the playoffs.
  6. Microsoft is really screwing themselve by offering the hard drive as an additional component. Developers will not build games for it, because they can't be assured that everyone with an Xbox can play it. It's dumb, they should just offer one base system. It's not like they offer a game system with a wireless controller and a system with no controller at all. They offer a controller with a wire, because you NEED a controller to play the game. They should either make it so the Xbox needs a HDD, or doesn't. Make up your frickin mind Microsoft.
  7. Is this thread complaining about Russel Crowe as an actor, or just his accent? I could care less if his accent is correct, he's a good actor and he's done some great movies in the last few years. LA Confidential, Mystery Alaska, Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, and Master and Commander...I'm probably leaving some out. I also don't care if he's an a-hole in real life. I go to the theatre to be entertained, not to leave saying "what a nice guy that actor is."
  8. The problem with NWN's MP is it took time to develop, so a chunk of the initial people who purchased the game only played the main campaign. This is a problem, because the main campaign was slow and pretty boring, but the user created mods and multiplayer servers blossomed into a beautiful thing. So you have a pretty big chunk of people who thought NWN was weak. There are still a ton of people playing NWN though, and for good cause.
  9. We still have a month to go. Everybody is just gearing up for training camps. I don't think we'll see much activity until the end of the month.
  10. You went and bought games in the Philippines, but not a USB keyboard? I heard Metalheart was pretty bad, which is a shame because I want a Fallout style game. Let us know if it works out. Enjoy KotOR, it's a blast.
  11. I'm smart enough to not try and outsmart my wife. Women don't need brains, they fight dirty...and I love that.
  12. It was $16 used at EB games...definitely worth that. I just spent more than twice that on gas *sigh*
  13. You are on vacation in the Philipines...and you are posting here? Good lord man, go get drunk and sit in the sun!
  14. Yeah, the campaign was weak, people have improved the engine a ton, and it really is super easy to set up a basic campaign.
  15. I don't think he got it... Seriously, NWN is by far the best editor. It's easy, there are a ton of people still using it to get help from, there are piles and piles of mods available to build your own game with, and it still looks pretty nice.
  16. Seriously Roshan, get a new keyboard. I have one sitting here not being used, I will mail it to you. Otherwie, fork out the $15 it costs to get another one. Your posts are unreadable.
  17. Violence doesn't have to be physical though. Just ask my wife, she's a master of verbal abuse *looks over shoulder nervously*
  18. I just picked this up for a few bucks because I was craving an RPG, and I'm surprised at how good it is. I was worried it would be vapid like BG: Dark Alliance, but it's a very fun romp through a comic book world. The graphics are nice on the Xbox, and there is a very cool comic book look to it. I just started it, so I'll see how the story turns out, but if you're looking for a bargain, check it out.
  19. Crass compared to entertainment today. We've taken a step towards conservatism. Rent a PG movie from the 80's (Uncle Buck) and you will be amazed at what they say. Nobody gets away with that stuff anymore except HBO and Howard Stern...oh wait, he got fined millions.
  20. This thread is wierd...why don't we all write letters to Bioware asking if they feel JE succeeded or not. It's an RPG in the Top Ten this year, so I don't know how that's not a success. And someone said most games take a loss of profit. That's insane. This is a growth industry. The problem is it only takes one or two clunkers to sink a developer. Eventually small time developers will all be forced to work with huge companies like EA...just like the movie studios.
  21. You also have to think about the popularity of a sport in a given area, and the availability of other entertainment. Southern California may have a great football team, but football isn't huge there. In smaller towns and cities, the college football game is the place to be. Have you ever seen a High School Football game in Texas?
  22. I loved Johnny Zero too... I don't get some of the stuff they keep on. Firefly and Johnny Zero might not have been rating kings, but they had good cult followings going. At least you hear about Firefly, Johnny Zero was yanked like it never existed in the first place. FOX blows
  23. Anyone else catch this? It looks like a pretty decent series. They actually did a fair share of research on the Prison system, so it's not way innaccurate. Pretty good conspiracy plot stuff too. I think it's going to be a decent series, kinda reminds me of season 1 of 24 (before it got pretentious)
  24. Someone asked about how you could watch Sopranos and Rome at the same time...many TV packages offer multiple HBO channels. There is usually an Atlantic and Pacific channel, and basically the Pacific runs 3 hours behind. I wasn't a big fan of The Sopranos or 6 Feet Under, but I have to admit that HBO does quality drama. Deadwood and Rome are big favorites of mine, and frankly Band of Brothers was better than any movie I can remember recently. Rome and Deadwood are very crass though (as is the Sopranos) and maybe it's just the shock of seeing that on TV that makes it great. Let's face it, movies have really tamed down for the PG-13 rating, and you rarely get a good muff shot anymore.
  25. I thought Rome was pretty decent. I'll keep it on my Tivo. I really enjoyed how the Roman Centurions were fighting, and watching the two guys just take out a bunch of Gauls (or were they Spaniards?)
