NHL is back
Overtime has become more exciting because of the shootout. Teams go all out because they know someone is going to get the extra point. It's not like in previous seasons where you split a point each...someone is coming out with that second point.

halo: the movie
I agree with the Xbox being the better system currently. It has better technology and lately it's been the favorite of many developers. But the PS2 is still a strong system and it was the first out of the gate. It dominated early and still dominates sales because of its initial strength.

Gaming Consoles
I was weened on an Atari ST. It was a great machine. I remember The Black Cauldron particularly well, but I remember what an easy interface it had.

NWN2 Screenies
Definitely, maybe we can get a specific game night going and try to get through the original campaign. I did that with SoU and it really improved the experience.

PSP
GTA Liberty Stories is getting good reviews, but I find GTA on my big screen is hard enough to see. I don't think a small screen version is all that wonderful. Now if the released the original, top-down GTA, that might be cool.

Gaming Consoles
Kinda silly to include the PC, as it can grow over time, unlike the other systems. Is this our favorite of all time? Because there is no NES, Genesis, Atari etc.

PSP
Wierd, that's definitely the game. Must be a different name for the Euro release. The Arcade game is Midway Arcade Treasure, here's a link Release date seems murky...

halo: the movie
The PS2 is still the top selling platform. It still gets plenty of exclusive games released on it. Depending on what games you like, it might be the best choice. It's also showing its age. The Xbox is more powerful, and in the last year or two it's really come into its own. It has less exclusive titles, but I'm guessing the ones it does have sold better in the States than most of the PS2 ones. I don't know what the pissing contest is about. They are both very different in what they offer.

Serenity trailer (aka the Firefly movie)
Canon? This isn't bloody D&D I'd say the movie is the new primary source. They seemed to really just be trying to toughen Simon up with the whole rescue.

NHL is back
I think both Ovechkin and Crosby will be stars, but Ovechkin seems to be more of a goal-scorer and Crosby is the playmaker. I think this is because Ovechkin hasn't been surrounded by people who can play with him, so he tends to hog the puck. At least that's what I saw in the Juniors, I haven't seen him play in the NHL yet. I've only seen Crosby in one game. The kid dishes out sick passes.

Can we ban Volourn from just one topic? This great discussion about hockey keeps getting spoiled.

PSP
Hot Shots Golf was pretty charming, even if your not a big golf fan. I haven't found much else compelling. The game I'm waiting for is (I think) Midway's Arcade Classics #2. It has Paperboy, Mortal Kombat, and a few other nice gems. I think it's out mid-November.

NWN2 Screenies
Maybe I didn't do enough researh, but most of the mods for Morrowind seemed to be improvements upon the same game or additions. This doesn't excite me that much. Counter-Strike is basically a completely different game than Half-Life. Same engine, but that's it. Most of the mods for NWN are the same, they completely change the game. It's also super easy to use, as even an eternal n00b like myself was able to put together a decent dungeon. I agree that the original campaign should always be the focus of a game, but I don't think it's the only thing that should be judged.

NWN2 Screenies
For NWN, mods are a huge part of the game. It's a shame you never gave a few a try, because there are plenty that are at the same quality as the expansions. The Dreamweaver series comes to mind. With most mods, the gameplay experience is just changed a bit, but in NWN you had mods that were separate games in themselves.

Volourn is so cute when he gets all excited. The letters can't even keep up with him!

NHL is back
753 in that many games is insane. I didn't realize he had that many. I also think it's kind of heartless to hold a guy out just because he got injured so many times. He might also make the International side of the HoF. I'm still in awe of that point total, particularly with the way the NHL has been in the last decade.

Post your first post!
My second post, as the first was an obligatory greeting. This post was actually in October of 2004. That just amazes me. I left for a long while though. I really wonder who I was responding to though.

NHL is back
Let's talk about Forsberg... He seems to have more talent than anyone in the league, but he's injured all the time. He's also at the end of his career. Is he a future Hall of Famer? Is he over-rated? I'm still confused how our thread was a problem

icewind dale like game
I keep trying to get into Temple of Elemental Evil. It's just not drawing me in, but maybe I just haven't made the right group yet. I had the same trouble with Wizardry 5.

NHL is back
Forsberg is playing? I thought his pancreas broke or something... I love Forberg, but that poor guy can't go a season without getting some nasty injury.

NHL is back
That's the most bizarre comparison I've ever heard. First off, Conklin is still part of the organization. His contract is not terminated. It would be more like Microsoft moving him into a less prestigious position, or sending him to an office out in the boondocks. Second, the minors means he still gets paid the same, and he will probably get a ton of more playing time. Is it better for them to have him sit on the bench every game? He just needs to work hard and earn his way back to the major league team. No NHL team stays healthy all season long, so if he gets to work he'll get another chance to play.

Doom
Doom really isn't Doomed. It had a big weekend. It's got the Rock, and he's a box office draw. It will probably pull in over 50 million box office.
-
Doom
It amazes me that, despite horrid reviews, this was the #1 movie this weekend. Alternatively Serenity got stellar reviews, and didn't manage to capture the top spot. Why do we have reviewers? No one listens to them. They have no actual influence on what becomes popular, so what's the point?

NHL is back
I'm in a deep depression over the Sharks...but it's still early. At least Marleau looks good, but Nabakov looked terrible before he got injured. Since when did the Sharks have the worst defense in the league? Hey, we are losing to the lame music thread guys, pick it up on the posting. Only 41 pages

Yay, another tool for bad parents to ignore.
