You have to burn the rope is still my favorite. It really lifts me up when I'm feeling down.

That sounds like the general consensus. A lot of folks seems to be going back and seeing it two or three times, basically voicing their displeasure with their wallets. Hopefully Cameron gets the message and rights the ship, before we get another Titanic on our hands!

That was a pretty exciting game between the Cards and the Packers. Definitely two fantastic QB performances. But yeah, that was some horrific defense. I guess Arizona redeemed themselves by winning it on D, but GB will need to assess that for next year.

Looks like I'm going to lose my first game, Baltimore is cleaning up the Pats.

I started "The Summoner" by Gail Z. Martin. I was looking for a light fantasy series to enjoy and so far it has fit the bill very well.

I just don't think Troika spent too much time developing the combat engine, whereas you can see AoD has taken on that as a major part of the game and a real labor of love. I just played through my first round of the combat demo. First thing that struck me was the graphics were fairly good, very functional and the camera was easy enough to use. I was happy that I could adjust my resolution, that really elevated the look of the game. I played a two handed axe guy. I probably could have been smarter on how I spent my money. I got past the three raiders, but the next guy took me apart a couple times and I stopped there. I'm really looking forward to seeing the non-combat skills in use. It looks like there are a of lot of options there.

To be fair, the combat in any game ever created is better than the combat in Arcanum. It's still amazing, though. And to be even more fair, Age of Decadence has probably been in development longer than Arcanum.

I am getting a little excited about this project. I hope the story turns out to be as engaging as the combat. Is there any idea on a release date window, like are they aiming for this year?

I was actually getting a bit concerned after my leg surgery. I went about a week without even thinking about 'the business.' I even tried and felt fairly unresponsive. But once I cut back on the meds, I was able to return to 'the business.' Still, I typically can't stand going more than a couple of days without attending to 'the business'.

Heh, the US has plenty of sky-high real estate markets as well. I paid $355,000 for my 850 square foot condo.

I don't think the PA crowd is really the pwning at Halo sort. They are likely smelly though.

I'm ready for Chuck to start up again next week.

It's been a decade, but I remember reading The Dubliners by James Joyce and enjoying it. But short stories can often be easier to handle than a full novel.

That is amazingly accurate! To be fair, Kung Fu Panda was awesome. But that was more Jack Black and his delivery than the concept.

Is being critical about a game, whatever that game might be, for whatever failures I perceive in the game, bashing that game? I always get confused about this. I think you can go overboard with criticism. I typically will post my criticisms of a game and then move on, only bringing it up again if it is a natural part of the discussion. Some of the Fallout 3 bashers are a bit one dimensional, it's the only song they sing. For awhile it seemed like NMA was stuck reporting on a game they didn't really like. It was an odd time. They've moved away from it, but I never understood why they were posting Fallout 3 news just to add cynical little comments. Seemed like a waste of time.

Ah, the time of the year I actually watch games! NY Jets over Cincinnati - Well, they got walloped last week. I think it will be a better game, but still think the Jets are peaking and the Bengals are sliding. Dallas over Philadelphia - Philly has been an odd bird this season, losing a couple real bad games. Still, they always can get hot in the playoffs, but I think the Cowboys are ready this year to make some noise. New England over Baltimore - I think this will be the easiest call, to be honest. Although losing the top WR is going to hurt NE's offense. Green Bay over Arizona - I'm less confident in the Cards this year. If Rodgers doesn't get cold feet, this could be a blowout.

I don't really get that, his work on the Dragon Age mythos has been very solid. I even read his book and was surprised at how decent it was for a video game novel.

I enjoyed ToEE somewhat, but it's hard to defend the completely un-engaging story and characters. The Spelljammer game was a lot of fun for me back in the day. I would call that and the Dark Sun gold box games my favorite of the old timers.

I sprained my shoulder at some point over the last two day, probably from using the crutches. It's a shame because my broken leg is healing very well and feels pretty good, so it's been a crappy setback. I'll probably have to take a couple more days off work to make sure I don't make it worse, but I'm going to wait until next week because I'm giving an exam this week. Apparently the rod in my leg can come out in a year or so. Did I post a picture yet? This has the staples, which they actually took out a couple days ago. The swelling has gone down but the bruising is still lovely.

That's pretty standard in restaurants for parties over 8. Pushing out food for a party of 45 is much more difficult than pushing out food for a party of four. It requires more attention from the cooking and the wait staff. Also, I'm not sure about Canada, but in the US waiters are actually taxed on the tips, so there is some expectation there. Have you ever worked in a restaurant Volo?

Personally I've played through Fallout 1 twice and enjoyed both tremendously. I played through Fallout 3 once and thought it had charm. I've tried to get into Fallout 2 three times and never made it further than about halfway. There is just something about it, I suppose, hard to define.

Very interesting analogy Blank, thanks.

Good luck, I know most of us here are rooting for you.

Not really... Who the one really bad guy is or what nationality he has is not really important in the big picture though. Did we play the same game? Because the game I played wasn't patriotic at all... You need to listen to the pre-level speaches again then. It's all stuff like "We are the most powerful war nation in the history of man" said with a ridiculously masculine voice and with complete seriousness. Or "Every fight is our fight blah blah". No. No, it's not. Anyhow, the entire game screams of US patriotic war propaganda. It's actually a bit worrying that none of you even reacted to this. It probably means it sounds natural to you, which is what all propaganda is about: making the extremist sound natural. I haven't played it, so I'm speaking strictly on what I've read, but I imagine that is the typical hoorah talk you would get in a military unit before going into a fight. I mean, Rome: TW had the exact same spiel before a fight, and I didn't consider it propaganda.

No, because faith has never provided any observable, measurable results. Science has. Yeah, you're really not reading carefully and just quoting out of context, so this discussion is over. You did illustrate my point on close-mindedness, so thanks for that.
