Does anyone else think that Hoonding is really just JESawyer's burner account?

So I decided to buy New World. There hasn't been a new MMO in awhile, and I figured I would give it a try. I didn't play the beta, so I have no idea what it will be like.

I like to remind my co-workers that kids only retain about 5% of the content we teach. I don't get invited to a lot of staff parties.

I show my students something called CNN10 at the start of class most days. It is a good snapshot of current events and usually doesn't get too serious. But today's episode showed this general responding to the mistaken bombing of an aid worker and a family in retaliation for the airport bombing. Needless to say, the students were not impressed by the General's explanation.

Is it just me, or were there wildly different graphic qualities in that trailer? Like sometimes it looks good and others looked really bad. Not that it needs perfect graphics, mind you. I'll keep an eye on it, for sure. I would love a decent Krondor type game.

I'm not sure what you mean. What is it missing that makes it not a Jagged Alliance game? Don't get me wrong. JA2 is my favorite game ever, and I doubt this will capture the magic of that game, but it does seem to check the boxes that would make it JA. Turn-based combat, cast of colorful mercs, AIM on a laptop, etc. It may be done badly, it is hard to tell from a trailer, but it does seem like they are attempting to make it a real sequel. It doesn't piss me off at this point because the franchise is already dead. This game will likely be another failed attempt. But maybe, just maybe, it will revive my favorite franchise. *shrug*

Interesting. Hard to imagine they can really nail the tone without Ian Currie involved, but I have hopes. Edit: Vicki seems too young.

Hah, I almost felt bad about that too. Some crazy guy in a ventilation shaft was my first act of violence. I could have just avoided him or reported him to security, but I decided it was time to test out all these fancy weapons I carry around. Plus I recruited an orange as muscle to escort me around, and I needed to see if he had the cajones. I'm playing Silver, of course. 😉

$3200 a month. I'm not a payroll specialist, but after taxes, health care, state retirement, union dues, and a bunch of other stuff, our paychecks don't come out to $14k a month. It is more like $9k. That is combined household, not just me.

So my household income is just a smidge below what a US representative makes a year, and I can't afford a house and my rent is 35% of that salary. But I do wonder if I am in that top 10%.

Man, loading up the original Jagged Alliance was a total trip down memory lane. I recruited Grunty, Fidel, Ice and Speck and loved their one liners. That game hasn't aged well though. It was fun to play a map or two, but it is pretty rough compared to JA2. It was still fun to load it up though!

Yep, I realized I haven't actually had any combat in Encased either, and I am about 10 hours in. It is an option, but it offers a lot of ways to not fight.

That isn't irony, Alanis Morrissette. Irony would be if she bought the dress in Oregon to avoid sales tax, or she wrote off the cost of the ticket on her taxes. Wearing a tax the rich dress to a rich event is either an insult to the other guests or it is properly delivered message, depending on your perspective.

She definitely deserves recognition, but the dig at Gore for his slideshow hasn't aged well, given the environmental crisis we are in. There probably needed to be more attention given to that.

Encased is a very good RPG and a fascinating world to explore. It is probably the best rpg I have played this year.

Wonderful, so basically the front runner in the recall election is going to challenge the election if he loses in court, and then expects people to go to the ammo box if that fails. Classy.
