I used to play a bard regularly, but then I took up the guitar in real life. I was so bad at it that I couldn't even pretend to roleplay a character amymore.

I am pretty sure these vaccine centers and agencies are keeping records on who they give shots to. It would be pretty easy for them to check and see if it was a simple typo or if there was no record of the person getting the shot.

You seem to misunderstand me. I did not support UBI. I want Amazon to pay their workers a wage that reflects the money they are generating. It isn't someone else's money. Amazon is hugely profitable. Jeff Bezos has ridden that wave to tremendous heights. But the employees have seen very little growth in their wages. It is pretty simple. edit: UBI is like putting a bandaid on a cancerous tumor. GD is right, it will just lead to higher rents. Although those rents are already skyrocketing without UBI.

Right now it is very clearly the people with all the wealth that decide who gets the scraps. Or rather, they give some bigger scraps to the politicians to control it.

Honestly Beyonce isn't a great example. The money she makes from music and touring is definitely hard earned, and the entire team that helps her is probably well compensated. Her endorsement deals are going to be a bit shadier, since you probably have a huge discrepancy in pay between the people creating the products and what she gets for them using her picture and name. There is a reason people go after Jeff Bezos. The guy built Amazon from the ground up. He deserves to be rich. But at what point is that wealth obscene in the face of what his workers make?

Why do you immediately go to "Everyone lives in a 40 sq ft apartment"? The reality is Beyonce is growing her square footage at a tremendous rate while base salary workers are losing square footage. Equity versus equality.

There is this strange indignation around programs that help the lower classes. This idea that people who get welfare or UBI will just take advantage of the situation to loaf around on the couch. And yet, nobody seems to mind when billionaires find every loophole in the book to avoid paying taxes. We elected a President who bragged about not paying taxes in a debate.

Also, DP listed land, housing, food, and energy as the tangible rewards for hard work. But the costs of those rewards has outpaced the money you get for working hard.

I've never really understood this mentality. I mean, if this is true, why do people do charity work? Why do rich people get off their couches? Why did I get into education? Money does not need to be the only motivator to be productive. The idea that you need to exhaust yourself just to satisfy your basic needs doesn't sound very good. It sounds like a great deal for the people at the top but not so much for the working class. I'm not saying UBI is the solution, of course. But I certainly would like to see a more equitable distribution of wealth. We are way out of whack.

It sounds like the complaint are more about bugs and performance than it not being a AAA title. I mean, there are loads of indie games that are popular around here. Heck, I just dropped another chunk of hours into Underrail. Hopefully it will get worked out during EA.

Honestly most of the pumpkin spice hate I hear is about the pumpkin spice beers, so yeah, I don't get the tweet.

It's looking pretty good! I wonder if they are going to implement NPC's anytime soon. The cinematic trailer was cool, but coming home to some people is not actually in the game unless you play multiplayer, I think. I need some company. They don't need to dance around in bikinis like in Conan, but it would be nice if they can manage the stove.

That's always been my thinking. But people like to point fingers instead of solving problems, I suppose.

I'm not sure you need ADHD to have unreasonable expectations in your life. Also, the opposite of this is being told you are an unfocused spaz. Or just being put on meds that dull your mind. So yeah, sorry you need to see a therapist because people believed in you. *roll eyes*

Firaxis is a decent sized company, so I expect they are also developing Xcom 3. If this Marvel game is near Chimera Squad quality, I'll probably be pretty happy. Ghost Rider did seem like an off fit with that bunch, too. But maybe that's just because my last memory of him was a Nick Cage movie.

I do love passing the long lines of cars trying to get out of town on Friday afternoon. The drive typically takes 45-60 minutes, so not really a time saver, but it is a lot more rewarding. I sweated my ass off today though. My water bottle went hot 5 minutes in, so it felt like I was gulping down lava to stay hydrated. Still beats driving.

I rode my triathlon bike to work today. It was 60 degrees out and I was flying. It took me an hour and 20 minutes to cover the 28 mile commute. But now it is 94 degrees, the air quality has dropped because of fires, and I need to figure out how to get home. I'll just take it easy. I also need to stop for a bite to eat, since I didn't get lunch. So I will probably be slow pedaling it home.

It's going to vary pretty widely by region. But the quote about working hard for the properties always cracks me up. Like, do you mean that other people aren't working hard to pay rent and just get by? Circumstances play a huge role in how you go from zero dollars to multiple properties, and it always amazes me that people can't be reflective of that. But, as the BLM lady in the article said, that is the issue with privilege. It makes people uncomfortable to recognize their privileges.
