Keeping it classy, as always. I was surprised I had not heard of him either, but it sounds like he had a very full life.

You get used to it. I'm not sure how anyone can complain about this game, at least any more than with the previous 2. It is more of the same and that is great for me. I'm loving the conversations you walk up on, and the fact you can intercede in a few of them. It doesn't consume a lot of time, but it's a nice touch.

Took the day off and started ME3, and I also started a new center fielder in MLB 12 The Show. So far I like the improvements in The Show. It loads way faster too, which is nice because it has always been way to slow to load games.

Welcome back GD!

Well "Goon" just manages to realistically capture the way a Hockey locker room operates. There is a point where the captain gets up to give a little motivation, and ends up ranting about his divorce. I've seen that happen twice in real life, so I think it spoke to me.

Huh, I like Sean William Scott. He was annoying in the American Pie movies, but I enjoyed his role in that movie with The Rock and Role Models. I think he was also the only decent part of that terrible Cop Out movie. This isn't much of a stretch for him, his character is pretty simpleminded.

Did you guys see Goon yet? Do it now.

That's awesome Rosbjerg. But what's going on with your camera?

I suppose the Chinese simply have to add a couple thousand more years to their civilization to get some respect, huh 4000 is simply not enough to catch up with US & UK's epic level morality That seems deliberately obtuse. We are clearly talking about governments and the military here, not the cultures and common people. The PRC has only been around for 60 years and really doesn't have anything in common with the classical dynasties (not that those would meet our modern expectations of humanity and morality.)

You can also fail out of school based on academics, but you really need to work at that.

Except it is one your parents choose to send you too, rather than court ordered. Plus you don't seem to need any type of criminal record, although I think you may have needed to be thrown out of a regular school to qualify.

Hey, I've been know to defend Islam and Mohammed on occasion too.

Goon - Just awesome. It is loosely based on a true story about a guy who learns how to skate at the age of 19 and ends up playing hockey at the highest minor league level because of his fighting skills. Best movie I've seen in a long time, I would put it right next to Slapshot on the hockey movie shelf.

As I said, oversight is extremely important here, and it is being implemented on many levels already. The Ivy Ridge place, where we heard more specific details about, was facing major fines, loss of accreditation, and ended up shutting down. Now they have moved to the Dominican Republic, but hopefully that will be quashed as well. It's terrible stuff, really, which is why it bothers me that Krezack uses this topic to take more cheap shots at my country. Should we change the thread title to The Glorious Dominican Republic now?

I did a little more digging, you can't even get into that school unless you've been thrown out of a public school. Still, I'd gladly support a bill that allowed more oversight in facilities like this, there is always going to be a risk of abuse, just like juvenile facilities. It's a good topic, too bad Krezack had to use it for another anti-US soapbox moment.

We have an entire branch of the government called Child Protective Services, so if there is some real abuse happening then that is the solution. In most states it's actually illegal to simply pull your child out of school. Here's a link to the school, by the way : http://www.horizonacademy.us/index.html It doesn't actually look like hell on earth, it's an accredited school. Boohoo, the kid had to sit through some bible study and prayer time. It didn't work, so it's hardly a proper brainwashing camp. You sure have a hard on about the US, Krezack. This is bad parenting, plain and simple, and that happens in every country. I've seen parents do a lot worse to their kids, I've had to call CPS a few times myself.

I certainly prefer the ME series to the Dragon Age games. I always love a good space opera, too, and there aren't a huge amount of them out there. In fact quite a few of the cinematic moments in this game bring me back to my days of playing the Wing Commander series, despite the fact the gameplay shares nothing in common.

Is he about to kill George Washington in one of those pics?

Probably your standard "Weekend at Bernies" scenario.

Played a couple rounds of Battlefield 3 and was suitable humbled. I really need to practice to get good at that game, a couple months away have done me no good.
-
Well I'd love to talk about MLB 12 The Show coming out on the same day as ME3, but nobody usually responds to me when I bring it up. Obsidian games get plenty of due when they come out, we are just in between releases right now.

You know, the great Vanilla Ice knew that he would face trouble when he sampled David Bowie for his hit song Ice Ice Baby, but he did it anyways because you can't stop greatness.

That quote doesn't really sound like any sort of confirmation.

I can lend my vocal chops. I sound like a sultry Gilbert Gottfried.

Did I tell you folks I went to a Brazilian Steakhouse last week? We had just got our tax return, so I decided to treat my wife to a nice dinner. I had never been to a Brazilian Steakhouse, so I had no idea what to expect. First off, you go fill up a plate with sides and salads on your own, buffet style. I was surprised by this at a fancy restaurant, but the sides were good. Then you sit down and turn a little block of wood over indicating you are ready for meat. A server comes over with a cut and gives you a piece. You can take as much as you want. The crazy thing here is that there were 14 different pieces of meat going around the restaurant. I didn't realize how important pacing was, I took seconds on a couple things before I tried everything. These are really good pieces of meat too, my favorite was the filet mignon and the mutton. I only managed to get through 7 of the types of meat, so I definitely didn't try them all. Next time I go to a place like this, I need to remember, light on the side dishes, and just one cut per type of meat. It was a very fun experience. I also didn't bother to look at the prices ahead of time (there is no menu) so when I received my $100 bill for the dinner, I was a bit surprised. It came out to $40 a plate for the two of us, which isn't cheap, but for a special occasion it was reasonable enough. I think it might be the first time my wife and I have cracked the $100 mark on a dinner.
