Best Police in the World
That female cop is trying to protect her partner, who is getting pummeled. All she has is a night stick (I'm not familiar enough with Finnish police, but are they security guards?) and she is not doing any damage against that guy with it. I would consider her justified in shooting him. Protocol would dictate that she should warn him she will fire if he does not move away from her partner and get down on the ground. None of these scenarios are a simply fist fight between an officer and a citizen, I don't know where you are getting that. These are aggressive guys resisting arrest. Also, people die in fistfights. This isn't a video game, unarmed attackers can do plenty of damage to a cop. If you want to show me a scenario where the cop starts the fight, I'll call them a bad cop.

The third amendment, the one that we thought wasn't really relevant anymore. Just got discarded
The police in the US need to have just cause or a warrant to enter any private property in the US. These two officers clearly had neither, hence the lawsuit.

Volourn, when did I defend bad cops? Why are you lying about what I said? We were talking about this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQvMJMj1GVg&feature=player_embedded In all 3 clips, the cops are responding to a violent attacker. Did you even watch the video? These are the unarmed people you are so vigorously defending. The first guy is the worst, he is on top of the officer pounding him into the ground. Please enlighten me as to what the officers are doing that is over the line in these videos.

That's a big issue with every type of lesson guide or curriculum plan. Students are always trying to game the system to get results. Getting students to think critically about anything is extremely difficult. I have students who will memorize entire sections of a textbook rather than engaging in actual learning. It's the biggest hurdle in education. Games can be effective because they disguise critical thinking. But you are still going to have chunks of students that work around it.

Well the Officer shooting of Oscar Grant is a good example of how complicated these cases can be. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BART_Police_shooting_of_Oscar_Grant The criminal trial sounds light when you look at the case, basically a two year prison sentence. But then you have the civil case which is still going on, and you have a civil rights case filed by the US Justice department. So no, cops don't get away with murder.

The third amendment, the one that we thought wasn't really relevant anymore. Just got discarded
The plaintiff has a a great lawsuit here if there is a shred of truth to the case, but a couple cops in a small city in Nevada hardly merit enough consideration to call this an attack on the constitution.

So you are defending people who get into fistfights with the cops? There are plenty of avenues for a citizen to file complaints against the police. Going after them physically is not one of them. I know it's edgy for you folks to whine about cops, but the majority of them are just normal folks trying to do a civil service job, one that becomes very difficult in more urban environments.

And all three of them would deserve it! Actually they'd probably taze them nowadays. Seriously, you are a moron if you get into a physical altercation with a cop. Darwin Award material.

What are you playing now?
Ugh, that's frustrating. I had a fatal crash that killed my SR2 game on the last mission. I was pretty upset about it, I put a lot of hours into that thing. I ended up just watching a video of someone's playthrough to get the gist of the conclusion.

Saint's Row 3, starting a brand new campaign. I've got all the crazy DLC this time around, pretty entertaining.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
The SR4 trailer convinced me to purchase the SR3 deluxe pack with all the DLC. I already owned it on the PS3, but I traded it in awhile ago and I think it will be good to have it on the PC.

I'm a bit surprised that such an established studio is having so much difficulty balancing their budget. It does make me worry for Obsidian.

The Numbers Station - John Cusack looking tired as a CIA Black Ops guy protecting a girl who sends codes to agents. It was a decent action flick, not very long. There were some fairly nonsensical parts, but I enjoyed how they retraced the story of the team before them.

And it's a wonder some people dislike the police. But I'm sure a video of a 'good' cop giving a homeless guy a shoe or some kid candy will show up. Actually shooting the pit bull was justified. Pit bulls don't mess around, that cop was a second away from getting bit and he got off a perfect shot. The humane thing to do would have been to administer a kill shot at that point. Also they were there to help the homeless guy having a seizure. It's something city cops deal with on a regular basis. The second clip is terrible.

I don't know why I have so much trouble getting the numbers game in TOR. I have it down pat in LOTRO.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
Well if they marketed it as an online game, like Blizzard did with Diablo 3, then I'm not all that shocked by it. We all know when we buy an MMO that eventually it may not be playable. But I don't remember much about Darkspore, so it's hard for me to judge. You would think EA could spare a programmer to fix the gamebreaking bug though, it isn't that old of a game. Apparently you can get some sort of refund from EA customer support.

SW: The Old Republic Part 5
I feel bad for switching, because I did play with Raithe a few times back when it was released, but the game runs much smoother for me on the west coast servers.
