I'm sure you've met more than a few, but most of the ones I know are very private and not at all flamboyant like you see in the movies. Also, the older generations tend to avoid all forms of public affection, as they grew up in times where that behavior could get you a lot of negative attention. It's actually a bit odd, I have had three principals that were gay and only one of them actually ever discussed their partner in a social setting. Now I live in a very tolerant area, but all three of them came from different areas of the country. I talk about my wife all the time, so I really can't imagine that. I think they just tend to avoid creating situations where someone might get offended. I see this changing within a couple generations, and I consider that a wonderful thing.

Being gay is not a lifestyle choice. I do not choose to be attracted to women, it is effortless (and occasionally problematic).

I've done the Moaning Caverns, but that's about it in the area. The kids are a bit skittish about mines and caves at this age though.

We are all a part of Fio's giant dragon beard. I burst out laughing when I heard one politician proclaim "children deserve to have a mommy and daddy!"

Calax we are in Placerville right now. Actually a bit south, at the KOA. I'm a big fan of old mines, so I'll have to check that out sometime.

Nevada reminds me of Tremors. We are back in California, but still in the mountains. It was a long drive, about 8 hours, so I'm pooped.

I'm very happy to see this, I have quite a few friends who will sleep much better knowing they have the same federal protections as heterosexual couples. I have a buddy who is a marine that got married after they dropped don't ask don't tell, and he will gain a ton of rights for his partner when the State department enacts their measures.

Day 13 - We drove through Utah and into Nevada. It was pretty empty, at one point we drove for about an hour without seeing another vehicle. Now we are in the town of Ely. Tomorrow we have a long drive to Placerville, which is back in California. I'm going to try and wake up early and just start driving while everyone is asleep. These mountains were laying down on the job. This is pretty much what we drove through for about 4 hours.

Day 12 - Today is our last day in Bryce, so we took a wagon ride out to the northern rim. It was very nice, we were the only people on the ride. We got to see a lot of cows. When we got to the rim it was an amazing view. We went to a little museum in the park afterwards, and now we are relaxing back at the RV. Tomorrow we start driving home, but we won't get there until Friday so there may be a few more updates.

I live off lentils since we went low fat in my household. You can do some crazy delicious things with them.

What is it with you hockey people and NBA bashing, I wonder. Been seeing a lot of that lately. This is the only post I've seen on this forum that did so. But they tend to be at odds for a lot of reasons. 1. NHL and NBA run at the same time. Other sports overlap, but you don't have the playoffs happening at the same time. That means they compete heavily for audiences. 2. The NBA is the only sport the NHL can compete with in the US. In the US, NBA is #3 and NHL is #4, so NHL fans are always trying to push for more exposure to help their sport move up. This is fueled by my first point, as when you get a market with both types of teams, they have to compete for TV time. 3. As a hockey player, the fouls in basketball are hard to understand. Playing basketball as a kid was always confusing, what I considered good defense everyone else called fouling. Hockey is simply a different type of physicality. I am not saying basketball isn't physical, I'm just saying it is very different. I imagine a basketball player probably has the same difficulty adjusting to hockey penalties. In theory they should have a lot in common, but the rules are incredibly different.

Day 11 - We took it easy today. We are all dried out from the desert sand and sun, my daughter's legs are a red mess. So we are just putting on some aloe and relaxing at our campsite. I ended up playing a few hours of Skyrim, which was actually pretty fun. I guess I just need to be in another state to enjoy that game. We headed back to the rock shop after dinner and Skylar picked out a geode for them to cut in half. It looks pretty neat inside.

Championships are important to LBJ's legacy because he went to the Heat. If he stayed with his home town and was surrounded by average talent, then he'd get more of a pass on those. That being said, winning the last two games against the Spurs was huge. I think he needs one more to silence all the critics, but he's well on his way.

You just had to voice that idea. Now it won't leave my head, and I keep thinking about different ways to **** with time travel to benefit porn. Hate you SO much. There already is some softcore series called Emmanuel in Space that does something similar. I never pay very close attention to the story lines.

Day 10 - We went to Bryce Canyon and took a hike around the rim, it was about 2 miles when all was said and done. Logan was super difficult the whole time, arguing with a 3 year old is never easy. He wanted to be carried, but he wouldn't ride on my shoulders. Here he is looking grumpy surrounded by beauty. My wife and daughter went ahead, and I could see them pretty well from various parts of the rim. We are back resting at the RV. I don't think we will hike much tomorrow, maybe just check on the visitor's center.

Steph Curry is the best perimeter shooter ever if he can keep that ankle healthy. He torched the Spurs in the first two games, then he rolled it and became a regular player.

I'm sure most players would like to play into their 40's, but most can't and Manny hasn't shown that he can. The A's gave him a shot last year, he was hitting for a decent average, but he didn't have the power and he can't field. There is nothing personal about it, there simply isn't enough DH spots for a guy at his age.

Day 9 - We made a short drive to Bryce Canyon, settled in and did some laundry. Later we went shopping at a gem store, and they had piles of Obsidian! Then we went to a dinner show, where they sang and danced while we ate piles of meat. The kids chowed down and now we are back in the RV and they've passed out.

Identity Thief - Pretty funny comedy. Nothing groundbreaking, but entertaining enough. We've been watching a lot of movies in the RV. I'm enjoying the Nick version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with my son, it's very well done. Also we watched an animated movie called Escape from Earth that was more entertaining than expected. Oh, and Frankenweenie, which was sad and scary and very much a Tim Burton flick.

I'm not a fan of the Heat, they are basically the Evil Empire Yankees of the NBA right now. That said, LeBron James is an amazing athlete and apparently a super nice guy. It's a good thing he won this one too, 1 ring in 4 appearances would have looked bad. I think he still needs one more to compete with Jordan. Michael Jordan is also apparently a terrible person, so I'm rooting for James somewhat. Go Warriors!

They don't got very far back, but there are a bunch of cubbyholes. I hiked up to one higher up and it had two branching rooms. We also went by one with a firepit. I got a good picture of my wife and daughter from above.

Day 8 - Posting this a day late, as we were in an area with no internet. We spent the night at an animal sanctuary, then took a tour in the morning. It was a very interesting place. They could really use a decent business manager, as most of the people working there are better at communicating with animals than humans. It was difficult to have the RV there as most places were not accessible for us, and they had no transportation available. Still, the animals are well taken care of and it was fun seeing the cats and dogs. Afterwards we went to the Moqui Cave down the road, and it was very cool. It was built as a bar and dance hall, and the tours are run by the son of the people who built it. It even had a real man cave! It was a busy day and we hiked back up to the cave again. We slept in, I'll post an update on Day 9 later tonight.
