  1. It's weird, but a lot of people don't really get how good the Giants are offensively now. They won it in 2010 based almost completely on pitching. They basically needed 3 runs to win any game that year, even 2 would do it sometimes. Then in 2012 they were a bit better with the bats, but still had multiple aces. Now they are a hitting team, the lineup when healthy is going to give pitchers trouble. That's good, because their pitching is more suspect.
  2. Well it isn't over yet. But yeah, the Giants have been winning because they pressure teams into making mistakes. Not only are the Royals playing with enough confidence that they aren't making them, they are starting to force the Giants into mistakes. But I'm not going to count them out, I did that twice in 2012.
  3. Doesn't matter that it was on-line. What if the man was walking on the street complaining to his buddies and the boss was sitting in a caffe? Doesn't matter how the boss found out, now does it? Either way, no harm done to the boss. No harm done to ANYONE. Except for the other poor people working on the game that now suffer. I consider such thing petty. If your boss overhears you complaining about him, then yes, your job may be forfeit. That is how the real world works. There are consequences to throwing temper tantrums. Out of curiosity, how old are you Trashman? My guess would be about 18. Many of us here are about twice your age, and have worked in numerous industries. We are all saying the same thing, so maybe take it to heart and stop trying to make excuses for this developer's ridiculous behavior.
  4. Is it really hard to go through life without saying your going to kill people online? Regardless of the intention, it seems like a pretty easy thing to avoid.
  5. Not putting death threats up about your boss is hardly an impossible standard to meet. That is a pretty low bar to clear.
  6. I suppose I wan't clear enough, because I agree with you. Our society is more tolerant in general, which is wondrous, and we have all these amazing ways to communicate and express ourselves to a wider audience. So yes, as Volo says, the world is much better than the old days. But we are sharing this amazing platform with a lot of stupid people, and they are really thriving on Twitter, and they are getting a lot of their own reality shows.
  7. I hope Mattingly keeps his job, he is not a great manager and I like watching Bochy outsmart him.
  8. This is the problem with raising kids with little understanding of real world consequences. There is a huge lack of common sense here. You should assume everything you put on the internet can come back to bite you in the butt. I spent my entire career being very aware of the fact that my job is at risk if I do something rash and emotional. Every adult should be aware of that.
  9. Ha, our society is way more tolerant of stupidity than it used to be. Accountability is a rare thing, it is refreshing to see someone deal with actual consequences to moronic actions.
  10. I'm super impressed that Anita Sarkeesian makes money doing what she does. It's bloody genius.
  11. The worlds are pretty neat. The science tree is also off the hook. I don't regret my purchase, but yes, I can see the Civ V expansion talk.
  12. That drives my wife nuts, and I love to do it. It's amazing we've made it this long! The folks complaining about baby cries crack me up. If you don't live with one, you really have no clue.
  13. I'm bummed that the Giants can no longer win it at home, but I'm still not too stressed. I'd like to see Petit get a longer stretch of playtime.
  14. Here is President Obama trolling WoD again.
  15. Broke down and bought Beyond Earth. My willpower is weak. The game is fantastic.
  16. I've never really understood how the media focuses on the nationality of people when a tragedy happens. If a plane goes down and kills 200 people, I don't really need to know there were 3 Americans on board to make it tragic. Also when that plane went down a number of years ago with a bunch of NHL players, I didn't get more upset than I would for any other crash. Sure, I recognized some names and remember seeing them play hockey, but I didn't know them.
  17. Hah, I wouldn't eat that junk no matter what you called it.
  18. I know we all like to pretend we are all apathetic and cool, but this forum is seriously way more sensitive and supportive of their members than most of the people I know in real life.
  19. I saw this .gif and felt the need to use it here.
  20. It doesn't have anything to do with politics. Spouting about 1000 years of darkness is not really a political platform.
  21. I still probably wouldn't mess with Chuck Norris. The guy was a genuine master of martial arts. But yeah, it's a shame he's a bit of a loon.
