  1. After reading Volo's response, and following this poll on Divinity II, it seems to be pretty popular to label anyone who doesn't embrace hardcore violence and nudity as an SJW. What is the acronym for people that shout SJW at everyone they disagree with? I seem to see a lot more of those than actual Social Justice Warriors.
  2. That would really help with Melk and Keyrock, since they play some pretty weird stuff.
  3. Raithe, I'm terrible sorry for your loss. Your commitment and dedication to your family and your mother are simply amazing, and I hope you can look back on the last 15 years and know that you went above and beyond for her.
  4. That was really my whole argument, a game that seems to be entirely based around being as violent and 'controversial' as possible sounds like a pretty shallow one. From the get-go it seemed more concerned with shock value than quality.
  5. If you just want lore, pick up some of the Shadowrun novels. There are a few that really capture the whole noir vibe.
  6. Dude, you had me until you dissed the Shadowrun setting. Talk to the hand.
  7. I'm not sure I've ever heard someone compare Divinity to Diablo. That being said, Larian did say it was a financial success for them. I'm assuming they are going to Kickstarter because it has been a successful model, rather than some desperate funding grab. They are likely already well into production, and it is pretty clear that the success has allowed them to update the original and prepare it for consoles. I never pledged the original, but I was impressed enough to put some money in this time.
  8. Great, now I'm never going to get my 6-8 cents per card!
  9. What happened to Woldan's picture? And does he really only have 313 posts? Mysteries of WoT!
  10. That's really the crux, if we get a terrible President, the odds are he or she will simply be ineffective. To actually get stuff done, you need to be able to work with congress. The most dangerous President is one that can work with the opposing party.
  11. Ah, the nostalgia of looking back at the universe through refracted light tinted glasses.
  12. I like how you say it as if that was a good thing. It is what it is. Your personal opinion of the game is going to color the way you see it. If you did not like Fallout 3, you will more than likely not like Fallout 4. This works vice-versa. It is pretty simple.
  13. Actually the Fallout 3 collector's edition turned out very useful, both of my kids have used the lunchbox at one time or another and the pip-boy is still sitting on my desk at work. I also have a great GTA 4 cashbox and for awhile I was backing up my docs on a Saint's Row USB stick. I've always thought digital rewards were useless though. Why would I pay extra for a couple digital items in a game that has countless stuff already? This thread is so negative because Fallout 3 wasn't like Fallout 1 or 2. Bummer. But that ship has fully sailed. You are never going to be able to go back (unless you go play the old games or embrace stuff like Wasteland 2.) We all know what Bethesda brings to the table now, so whining about it over and over is not going to achieve much. I'm looking forward to Skyrim with guns. Personally I was a lot more hesitant about Oblivion with guns because they had no track record. Now I know exactly what type of post apoc exploration simulator I will be getting, and that is not a bad thing at all.
  14. You are way too worked up about this. The odds are Fallout 4 will be about as good as Fallout 3. Expecting it to be vastly better or worse would be folly. A lot of the stuff you seem to be complaining about is simpler minor on the grand scheme of things. Also, games are definitely not getting stupider. Before the whole indie and kickstarter movement of the last few years, I would have agreed with you, but we are in a huge golden age right now thanks to all the different financing options available to developers.
  15. Sometimes I pre-order stuff because then I don't need to worry about the release date, it just shows up in my queue when it is released. But that is more handy with books and music.
  16. There is a big difference between developing a title for the pc and console at the same time, and developing them one after another. You need two teams to do the former, and one to do the latter.
  17. Budweiser owns Shock Top, so they are pretty much full of it when they try to go after the craft beer stuff. They are just bummed that they are bad at it.
  18. I'd say shield management was a big part of the X-Wing and Tie Fighter gameplay, and I'm not sure why they don't just do that. Having to choose where to focus your power would seem like it would add a decent tactical element.
  19. I took the wife and kids to see Minions. I spent the first 30 minutes or so in shock about the fact that cost me $55. The movie had a few good chuckles, and was thankfully right at 90 minutes. Not a bad kids movie.
  20. I'm pretty sure the ability to play after the game ends is just Bethesda's response to the stupid ending in Fallout 3. Sure, you might have a super mutant buddy who could finish up the storyline without dying of radiation, but it's your destiny to die!
  21. I picked up Shadows of Mordor for my PS4 since my laptop is out for repairs. It's pretty fun. Super bleek though. Why were humans living in Mordor again? I get the real estate market can be rough, but that is just a bad neighborhood.
  22. You have to give Wesley credit for knowing he is a terrible actor, and sticking to playing only himself for the rest of his career.
  23. Yeah, my trooper is at 45 and the storyline really stalled out. I guess there isn't much reason to finish. I have a Jedi Knight near 60 and that storyline was fun.
