  1. An Ultimate edition a few years later is going to be cheaper than the current game, and much cheaper than the current game + all DLC. Not to mention most mods will have been released so installing something like Project Nevada, SkyRe, SPERG, Frostfall or whatever you think will result in a better game for you won't mean having to say goodbye to 30 hours or more of playing. Well then why ask the question?
  2. I totally get the bug argument, or even the 'wait for steam sale' argument. I just think a game with hundreds of hours of content in the base game is not "missing content".
  3. So, 'West' is responsible for colonisation decades ago (even if it was only 3-4 states of today 'West') but muslims dont have any relation to muslim terrorists today? Mind you I dont expect any muslim to apologise, just asking A sovereign nation that did bad things decades or even centuries ago still has a duty to reconcile themselves with those acts, whether that involves actual reparations or simply observing the past with proper chagrin. Members of a religion have a duty to distance themselves clearly from those that commit atrocities in their name. Apologies are not needed, but rather condemnation.
  4. I don't get the DLC argument for not buying the game. It is bloody huge already, there is more than enough content to justify the price.
  5. Check out this exchange I had with Calax five years ago! I've been talking politics with that guy for a LONG time now! http://forums.obsidian.net/index.php?showtopic=56180&p=1069009 Ah, but the next 5 years will be really interesting, as Calax transitions out of college and into the role of a 30-something working class stiff.
  6. Heh, I went back and read over that First Failed State thread, crazy! I think I've become dumber over the years, my posts were better back then. That is an awesome thread to read because California has recovered very well. It's also a bit sad to see posts from Kelverin and Killian. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/53366-first-failed-state/?hl=%2Bfirst+%2Bfailed+%2Bstate
  7. Ah the life of a government employee.
  8. I don't really count the "give me more caps" persuasion stuff because if I'm playing a good guy, I'm not going to try and milk every last cap out of people. Plus I don't really even need them. I've played for about a dozen hours and there have only been two memorable persuasion checks, one to convince the old lady to stop doing drugs, and the other actually avoided a combat situation. I'm underwhelmed.
  9. Pretty sure it was just an expression, relax.
  10. Bethesda does tend to invest in things that people complain about, so I do think you can expect a better dialogue system in the future. However the general trend of moving away from RPG mechanics is probably not going to change for them. SPECIAL is dead, man.
  11. Stalker I unfortunately will not have much time to play it until later in the week, but I wanted to grab it while it was on sale.
  12. Ah my bad, I was looking at this one from 2008, but I didn't think it was as clear: edit: What the heck is happening in New Mexico?
  13. Realistically, very few states could even handle breaking away from the US. Texas could do it, as could California. But a lot of those red states rely way too heavily on Federal funding.
  14. Yeah, I have a Brenden Shanahan Alpha Protocol one floating around somewhere. Good times!
  15. Oh yay, another thread where people complain about SJW's. Video games are seriuz bizness!
  16. I tend to blame the legal system that allows malpractice suits to go hog wild for a big part of our health care woes.
  17. I thought Fallout 3 was just one big grey mess of concrete. Fallout 4 still has a lot of repetitive stuff, but at least there is some color.
  18. No. You drive a truck and obey traffic laws. It's more like a flight simulator.
  19. The voters. Right now we get to decide what the scope is on local and state levels, but we have very little say in the Federal level.
  20. Finished up Jessica Jones. I liked it better than Daredevil, but they are both really well done. Here is my comparison: Story - JJ beats DD easily here. It was a compelling plot with a number of interesting characters. A lot of gray areas too, instead of just good and bad. After the first episode, I said it was like an alcoholic Veronica Mars with superpowers and less wit, and that held up. Cast - I liked the supporting cast more in JJ, as well as the lead herself. Hard to believe that is John Ritter's kid. The only advantage DD had was the villain, as Kingpin was masterfully portrayed. Kilgrave was still very good in his role though. Luke Cage was awesome. I never really followed either comic book lines growing up, so it is fun to watch the stories develop without any of that background knowledge. They are definitely gabbing my attention more than the CW's line of DC characters.
  21. Wait...that isn't a picture of you? I will see if I can dig up anything worth changing it to.
  22. First you let the government hold onto people indefinitely to keep people safe, then you close the borders to keep out potential trouble, then you give up your guns because the government knows best. Why do you hate freedom WoD?
  23. I grabbed a keg from a local brewery, Das Brew. It's a Hefeweizen, and it has a very strong banana kick to it. Only a few days old, so definitely fresh! Unfortunately the tap handle was not compatible, I'll have to jury rig it.
  24. Beats them going back to kill some more Americans, doesn't it? So you just trust the government to lock up people indefinitely because they have identified them as a danger? Ok comrade.
