To be fair, Paul Blart 2 was pretty much the same as the original, so I wouldn't vote for worst sequel. It was a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, this was an entertaining moment: I think I like them more because I worked as a security guard in college, and the career people were pretty much all like this. It's a fairly accurate portrayal.

I don't get it. Why are Walt White from Breaking Bad and blue haired Roger Ebert behind the fence?
-
Why is Bill Gates deceased? But yeah, corporations are out of control right now. They run the government.

I think I read the Raiders backed out, so that the Chargers can join the Rams. I hope they can figure out a way to build a new stadium for the A's and Raiders in Oakland.

You mean that nice hostage negotiator?

That is pretty hard to prove either way. We do know that a lot of developers have gone out of business. Sure, a lot of it can be blamed on bad business practices. Troika is a good example of that. They made decent games that were fairly popular, so you would think they would have been able to stay afloat. It's interesting to think of what Troika would have done in our current market, given the ability to crowdfund. But it is reasonable to say that if they received money for everyone that played their games, they would have had more profits. That may have been the difference between closing the doors or keeping them open. Yes yes, we all know that pirated copy does not equal lost sale, but it certainly doesn't help them at that specific time.

Actually I'd say the hints are pretty big that he will be an isolationist, which puts him in a very similar camp as Trump.

So now you're saying I'm practically an undead? Whats your problem man! I'm clearly jealous of your hairless nostrils!

You haven't lived until you've been to a booger bordello.
-
Thats actually a reflection. As in a deep thinking booger? Don't worry, they are good luck.
-
I can see a booger. I would joke about nose hairs, but lately mine have really been growing in quickly, so it's a sensitive topic. The worst part is when my wife shaves my head, she has now taken to going at my nose with the trimmer to clean it up.

I remember playing Monkey Island without a sound card, and then it being the first game I tried with my Sound Blaster. It was a magical experience.

Well I do think it is an interesting viewpoint that you bring up, that basically you never would have become a big fan of games if it weren't for piracy. I think most of us were young and dumb at some point and probably pirated a game or two growing up. It is hard to resist that temptation as a 13-year old, particularly back in the days when the internet was pretty wide open. But I look back on that time as me doing something dumb. Most of my favorite gaming companies from those days are dead and buried, and while we can debate how much damage was done to them by piracy, it certainly did not help them transition to the new era.

Uh yeah, Netflix is pretty amazing right now. I don't even watch movies on it anymore, it's all original programming or documentaries.

Uh, you are the one that brought up Doom. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/59648-piracy/ http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/66262-piracy-or-not/?hl=starforce http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/56968-crysis-2-pirated/page-3?hl=starforce&do=findComment&comment=1096753 http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/54266-ubisoft-drm-confirmed-to-boot-you-from-your-singleplayer-game-when-the-net-drops-out/?hl=starforce http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/54212-an-interesting-article-about-piracy/?hl=starforce http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/54115-the-age-of-new-drm/?hl=starforce Basically I put in Starforce and it brought up a ton of conversations on piracy. Could it be that we spent the entirety of 2015 without a long discussion on piracy?
-
Doom had a shareware version, so I'm not sure your example is all that great. Considering you can get many titles for pennies on the dollar nowadays, what with Steam sales, humble bundles, etc., I'd say the arguments for piracy are pretty weak. But it has been awhile since we've gone rounds on this, so maybe it's time.

I will be watching Labrynth with my kids tonight, for sure.

This was a huge shock. I'm not even sure how to go about my day, now.

I almost played a bit of Battlefront today. This afternoon I decided to try a quick match, but when I started it up, it needed to update Origin. Then it needed to update the game. So I left and found something else to do, and when I came back I was no longer in the mood. So tonight I had a bit of time before bed, and decided to give it another shot. I'd already updated, so it should be easy. Not so fast! I need to update my gfx driver. Apparently the one from a couple weeks ago was out of date. So I'm going to bed early.

I'd have to make an alt. The reputation of Hurlshotâ„¢ is much to established to start posting such hyperbolic hogwash.

Penny slots is really a misnomer. If you select all the lines, they are typically running you about a quarter per spin. $100 will go fast at that rate. My wife won about $80 on a Lord of the Rings machine a couple years ago, the fun part was they played video clips and gave you some choices to make while you played. But yeah, slots have the worst odds in the casino according to the math. Still it is hard to resist the idea of a big win on one spin.

We really need some libtards putting up Huffington Post articles to help balance this place out.

Hah, we did the timeshare thing one time, I think we got a free lunch and $100 gift card out of it. I had zero interest, but my wife was ready to sign. I have an RV, why would I possibly want a timeshare? The guy looked like he was going to hang himself at the end. I also like that the 'free shuttle' was no longer available to take us back to our hotel at the end!

Considering Raithe pretty much keeps this thread alive, and has posted quite a bit of good stuff, I'll forgive him a stinker or two.
