  1. Eh, I doubt anyone is going to be losing their job as a result of Avellone's comments on the Codex of all places. I meant his comments might be reason for lost sales. We had already one person in this thread to cancel his pledge. I am wondering how many more people could do the same... Even 1000 people cancelling, means about 50000 USD to be paid back. And that is basically money for 1 person contracted for 1 year... Or maybe that 1 person is just one person. Or maybe that one person represents 10 percent, which is still just a handful of people. Honestly the idea that 1000 people are going to cancel over this is fairly absurd. Single digits seems a better bet.
  2. What bothers me most is someone other than Tale is using a Sam & Max avatar.
  3. Always a ray of sunshine, Val.
  4. As someone who recently had to swap health plans due to a job change, I speak from experience when I tell you it is a gigantic mess. No tenuous relationship required to feel like you are getting the run around.
  5. All that healthcare stuff is really more between him and HR rather than management. Given how overly complicated everything has been in the last few years, I'd guess it has less to do with anyone trying to rake him over the coals and more to do with the fact the entire health insurance industry is a huge pain in the rear.
  6. Got it Heh, I like that you cancelled because they are apparently a terrible company and yet they refunded you with no problems in a super polite manner. Nice.
  7. We've had a few of these already and they never get locked. It isn't Bioware. As long as we don't start getting personal, I doubt Obsidian or the mods are worried about it.
  8. I've said it before, but MCA seems like the kind of guy that is just miserable in management positions. He's better off as a freelancer.
  9. That actually seems like a pretty good idea. I mean, he's a good writer, so it seems like the right way to go about this. Not sure what the interest level is but it'd probably sell a few copies.
  10. Kind of confused, did he have an ownership stake? I expect fair recompense for my posts when I decide to retire as well. This is serious.
  11. Hey, that had a good soundtrack at least. https://www.google.com/search?safe=strict&q=jamiroquai+deeper+underground&stick=H4sIAAAAAAAAAONgFuLSz9U3MEw3S07KVeLVT9c3NEyqMLCMT8ky0BLNTrbSzy0tzkzWT8xJKs21Ks7PSy8GAJr8SXM0AAAA&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiW4ZuOk-XaAhViyFQKHVOkCugQri4I4QEwGA&biw=1190&bih=718 Holy crud, Silverchair. P-Diddy and Jimmy Page working together too. That whole album is crazy.
  12. Huh, I somewhat agree with Sharpie. I mean, there is a reason we used to execute deserters. I'm not saying he deserves to be shot, but a criminal charge would be interesting. It's probably way to hard to prove in court, I saw one argument where the cop didn't know where the shots were coming from, but I think it makes more sense than civil prosecution.
  13. It's really his first attempt at returning to the Xcom style of game since Dreamland Chronicles got shuttered mid-development. I think he's pretty aware of the legacy and expectations that come with that type of project, and so he stuck to smaller tactics based projects for the last decade. They haven't really been my cup of tea, but word is they were all pretty polished endeavors. I'm very excited to see how this turns out.
  14. It's also being developed by Julian Gallop, who was the guy behind the original Xcom, so he's got way more street cred than anyone else when it comes to making the next Xcom.
  15. I know all police departments in my area train and train and train for these types of events. They actually spend about half of their careers in training, so the idea he was unprepared for the shooting is pretty weak. They specifically have a plan for schools where they go in immediately without backup if necessary. That has been in place since Columbine. That being said, I don't like the idea that this should be a civil case. You boot him off the force and use it as a way to better train everyone else.
  16. I'm also happy to wait for them to polish it up quite a bit. that demo they showed looked cool but very rough.
  17. I hear it's a two-parter, so I'll probably just wait until it comes out on video so that I can watch it closer to them wrapping up the story.
  18. Been playing a bit of Elder Scrolls Online. The crafting in this game is still the best I've seen in an MMO, and Morrowind is really well designed. Hopefully I'll keep my interest up long enough for the Summerset expansion to hit.
  19. Pour some alcohol in you ear. Once it dries it takes the water with it. I think they have ear drops that do something similar too, I'll have to look into it.
  20. I keep getting water in my ear during my morning swim sessions. I hate wearing earplugs, so I need to find another solution other than just manically shaking my head up and down trying to get it to move.
  21. Strung up my hop vines today after our move. They seems to be in pretty good shape, hopefully I will get a decent harvest. Although I've lost track of which one is which variety. Hopefully my nose will be able to tell.
  22. The US is not going to attack Noth Korea if they give up nukes. I am pretty sure China would have something to say about that. Plus MASH has held up pretty well so we don't need a reboot. Ugh, I just realized we are rebooting everything. Boo is right, Netflix will attack North Korea and reboot MASH.
  23. Pablo Sandoval also pitched a perfect inning.
