  1. Destroying livelihoods is a bit hyperbolic.
  2. I saw Solo. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to movies, so I had a good time. The action scenes were on point and there was some cool looking moments. Mother of Dragons and Woody Harrelson were entertaining, and Chewbacca was given a lot of screen time (which was great.) Donald Glover was kind of campy, but so was Billy Dee, so I thought that worked out well enough. Han seemed more like an impression of Karl Urban than Harrison Ford, and ultimately I think he was the worst of the cast, which is rough since he is the lead character. I wasn't happy with the romance or the Kessel Run. Which is a shame because they took a lot of screen time. But yeah, not the worst Star Wars movie. I'd actually put it around the quality of the animated series Rebels. Which might have been a better way to tell the Solo story, but I guess one-off movies are the new thing. I don't need a sequel.
  3. I remember thinking how bad that Human Head thing looked back in the day, but now that Prey 2 has been released and was the best game of the previous year, it's pretty clear that Bethesda knows what it is doing from a business perspective.
  4. You do know that the game is called Fallout 76 and not Fallout 5, right? The 76 is clearly a reference to the city of brotherly love.
  5. Nathan Fillion has a new show coming out where he is a 40-year old rookie cop. I'll probably give it a watch.
  6. Yesterday I got home and jumped on the bike to hit a big hill. The wind was pretty crazy. I made fantastic time getting to the hill, hovering around 22 mph, and then it was a solid 1000 foot climb to the top. The ride home was a grind though, had to push past the headwind. Still it was a beautiful ride. I managed to get up and swim early this morning, so I feel like I'm on track for my next race.
  7. That's unfortunate. Hopefully you have other good entertainment options in your life.
  8. Lebron was hitting a lot of 3's. I don't remember him taking so many in the past.
  9. That's a better headline than the Trump Meets Rump one I saw on another paper.
  10. That is scary!
  11. Halloween is clearly part of the pagan agenda. Ban it!
  12. Cherry 2000 is amazing. Plus it has a four wheel drive Mustang.
  13. Not particularly, considering both Evil Within games, both Wolfenstein games, Doom 2016, Prey, Dishonored II ... Don't forget they're also publishers. Not to mention we actually don't know anything about the new Fallout yet. It could just be Fallout 5 set in Philadelphia.
  14. We don't know that for sure.
  15. Actually Val was the one here that not only believed Trump would win, but was willing to wager on it. So he gets more credit than you.
  16. ESO looks to me pretty successful, even though the craze is long over. Sure, I actually really enjoy ESO and have subbed regularly. But it came out close to 5 years ago. There hasn't been a major western release since.
  17. Does everyone understand that the whole MMO craze passed about 5 years ago?
  18. I would hope so. Actually I'd say Condoleeza Rice has a better reputation than George Soros, so an attack on her would probably not sit well in general. She could probably get away with some Sarah Palin stuff. I mean, there are limits for everything. It has been open season on Trump, but Kathy Griffin still got raked over the coals when she did her headless horsemen bit.
  19. I think the guesses about the new Fallout being more like Overwatch or Fortnite are pretty spot on. The heyday of MMO's is long past, and considering they were already pushing hard into the construction and shooter aspects of Fallout 4, it wouldn't be surprising that they want to cash in on the hot new genre. I have no interest in it, but that actually makes it easier to walk away from the franchise, I suppose.
  20. I'm thinking you're right... Well they already decided to overload the Wasteland with a ton of people in Fallout 4, so I guess a flood of chosen vault dwellers makes sense.
  21. Do you have the rise of the perpetually offended without the rise of celebrities posting self-important garbage on social media?
  22. Did people think Obsidian would get the next Fallout? I thought it was pretty clear that wasn't going to happen.
  23. Huh, I think the expectation that the man pays is because we are all ugly and lucky that the woman is even giving us the time of day. I don't even think about the salary situation. My wife and I make the same and I still pick up the tab most of the time because I am the one in pursuit. But hey, maybe we are weird.
  24. Went on a crazy 50 mile ride with 2400 feet of climbing on my road bike. I was hanging pretty well with the group until the last 5 miles or so, so I am getting better. Time to relax.
  25. I'm not sure I understand the last part here. Clearly the meaning of Chivalry has changed quite a bit since the days of Charlemagne. But words have been changed and co-opted throughout history to fit the times. This isn't just a modern practice. Etymology is a fascinating subject. Avocado literally means testicles in the Aztec native tongue, so remember that next time you eat guacamole. Also your salary is probably not literally a payment for salt, even though you may be the salt of the earth. Salud.
