  1. Right no one would buy the game without the three days of streamers getting exclusive access It's hilarious. They made a big stink about not wanting to ship boxes with the game and have leaks but here they are handing the game over to streamers days before the release. Tomorrow backers who have waited over two years get to sit and watch people who may not have backed the game play it before them. Really funny
  2. Oh not this again Go read the Kickstarter FAQ. We are actually entitled to what was promised or a full refund. What's happening here is people who did not necessarily back are going to get access before us.
  3. Basically, in a nutshell, Obsidian is prioritizing marketing over delivering a game a few days early to backers. I personally don't like it but that's the choice they made.
  4. I'll say it again. The art team and graphics programmers did an amazing job with this game.
  5. Bloodborne releases on Tuesday. I think I'm going to play that until PoE gets some more patching.
  6. Because some press are backers. They only release to backers on the 26th, and special press copies go out to press who agree to the embargo. They want a lot of hype around the game at launch. I don't agree with it but that seems to be the explanation Badler gave on the other thread about the embargo.
  7. I can't say I'm thrilled about this or the pre-order bonuses on the steam store page. It just all feels like a big publisher release rather than a small indie that was backed by fans.
  8. I agree. DA:I length is mostly because of filler content that does not advance the story by much. I also found myself strangely detached from all the major events. With Dragon Age: Origins I actually found myself caring. Logaine felt like a real villain I was looking forward to dealing with until I realized how much of a tragic figure he is etc. None of that in DA:I. Literally, DA:I was all: YOU'RE THE CHOSEN ONE YOU'RE THE CHOSEN ONE... chosen to collect ten bear asses, and decide just how much of a chosen one you are.
  9. No one is arguing; however the speculation could reveal more problems with disengagement.
  10. The stacking messed up the way disengagement was being calculated so as soon as they got into melee range they got hit with a bunch of disengagement attacks. I think it just kept looping the attacks over and over. Having not seen the code I couldn't say -exactly- why.
  11. *Sigh*. I guess this will go the way of Wasteland 2. Lots of post release patches but not going anywhere fast.
  12. So how much dev time is needed to realize disengagement is utterly broken and either needs to go or needs someone to sit down and actually fix it? EDIT: I mean really I can't stop laughing at how you can make a woodchipper in this game by bunching up characters like that.
  13. FTL released with pretty much zero bugs. I was in the beta and they quickly patched things up during that time. It's possible to release a polished product. Look at Blizzard.
  14. Very surprised to see RPS do a "tough" interview. They typically do a lot of kissing up for access and even remove comments that aren't all flowery and nice. Frankly, RPS can do the same for a lot of KS projects. People are still complaining on the Steam forums about crashes with Wasteland 2 but no one is really calling Inxile on it.
  15. There's a straight forward fix for this. When the game gets printed on DVDs, go ahead and release the entire thing on the beta SKU. They will continue to get feedback from people who want to test or play the "incomplete" version. No harm no foul. Staggering the disc release sounds far more complicated to me.
  16. This is what they said in their update: "If it’s leaked early, it hurts everyone, both in the short and long term. It hurts you, the backers, who have waited with immense patience for the game, and you should be the first folks to get to play it. It hurts those who play an incomplete version of the game; that hurts us as a developer, which in turn hurts us as a business, and what may become of future projects." They're concerned a leak copy is "incomplete." Honestly, it sounds like they do care about the impact of piracy.
  17. I am disappointed by two things in your update. Firstly, why are you allowing pirating to influence your decisions in any way? They never gave you a dime and yet their experience with the game seems important to you. Secondly, this really does not bode well for the release date. You are saying you won't be done with a majority of issues prior to the release date. A better decision is to delay again until you get it right.
  18. Yes. The trick these days is to stop playing games for about 6 months, then come back and play the ones that have been released for a while and slowly build up to the ones that are going to release. That way you're always playing games that have been patched up If you think about it these single player RPGs are the exact opposite of multiplayer FPS games when it comes to playing at launch. You want to play the latest multiplayer bonanza at launch because everyone else is and you get a bigger community. These RPGs are like wine. You're better off waiting
  19. I'll wait for polish. I've yet to go play WL2 since I think they have a patch or two coming but I'll need to check. This isn't Blizzard. I'm not expecting a polish experience at first and find with my limited game time I'd rather play a game once its done right.
  20. I LOL'd. I mean isn't this something you'd spot in the first week of testing? Sometimes I think these betas we are playing are really alpha quality. There's very little testing at all done before firing them off.
  21. Wasteland 2 release is Wasteland 2 beta Do you see a pattern?
