  1. Nah, it works as it is. The idea is you're supposed to be be able to keep your characters alive and the maimed state is your get of jail card and if you bugger it up again, you're done. So, don't suck so much that your characters die.
  2. That's a point. If you go, can you take the Welsh with you?
  3. Holy catballs that looks amazing. Loving the different gaits of characters and the close feel of it. Can't wait.
  4. From a purely aesthetic standpoint 16 slots looks a lot better. Wouldn't mind it being a bit bigger myself as standard tbh.
  5. Yeah, sadly so. How much content is there after you do the spear enchanty thing?
  6. Hi! So, I crafted the enchanted spear, with all it's lorem ipsum text. Reloaded to sort out an animation bug...and all the mobs had respawned!
  7. Chanter, Cipher or Paladin for me. Hilarious overpowered fun and the chanter just muttering to himself while people look on is almost like looking in a mirror... Chanter needs to activate selected chant automatically though XD
  8. There is a Priest's spell that cancel negative effects. It is an overtime AOE called Suppress Affliction (level 2). There is no reason to not use it against the beetles. It will cancel the poison effect in place and make it impossible to get poisoned has long has it's up... Cheers man! I read somewhere the beetles' poison was unremovable after a few seconds...whether or not that was a bug. But good to know!
  9. Great idea, Sen! I do end up choosing the culture as much for the starting weapon/armour as for the + to attribute. Just make sure the sets make sense. Mace/stiletto for instance? Should be mace/shield.
  10. 2d isometric. All those pretty landscapes? Completely flat with a mesh over them to define walls/cliffs etc.
  11. Re: OP - I wouldn't mind temporary health regens, but I don't think that they should removed the maimed status. By the time I'm out of spells and getting fatigued, my guys are usually pretty much dead on their feet anyway and I'm quite enjoying the non-spam resting of PoE over IE games. What would be broken is if the camping supplies had the inn bonuses.
  12. I am all for discussion. But as you say (and I do agree I'm guilty of this) there seems to be an extremely partisan divide on the various issues around the game. Admittedly I'm not a number crunch so as long as something isn't completely ruined and I can enjoy the game I don't really care. To me, PoE feels like a successor to the IE games. Yes the whole Might thing is a little odd but I really don't get who'd have a wizard swinging a GS at the front. Maybe I'm just reading too many threads with posters who have different opinions to me! XD I tried the WL2 forums for a bit, without knowing a thing about WL1. I think I made about 10 posts and ran.
  13. Nah, I can completely understand. As a relative newcomer to the board, it's getting a little frustrating at the overwhelming amount of what essentially boils down to "do it like it was on the IE engine". Apologies if it came off as a personal dig.
  14. However much your response irks the piss out of me, I'm actually finding v278 a LOT less stable than v275. Chanter adds are completely broken atm and it crashes all over the shop.
  15. WL2 is certainly a lot more stable and is generally more enjoyable to play due to this. However, the beta was a great idea because it gives us a chance to help out with bug-stomping, and (more importantly) we can give feedback on what we think. But I do think it's laughable at this point how half the board thinks that the attribute system is going to be completely overhauled if they complain loud enough. To me, having the beta was a great idea because, like my OH, it shows a complete lack of willingness for people to let go of the old IE games and embrace a new system. Although, I am not saying it's without it's flaws.
  16. Nice idea, but I've always felt that the red spreading across the portrait was a quick reference for stamina so you can pause it and highlight the character in order to heal/cleanse. I just think I wouldn't take much notice of an HP counter.
  17. i would like an auto-save when area transitioning please.
  18. The beetles are challenging on normal, but once that poison is on you you're pretty much screwed. Thankfully wood beetles aren't half as hardy as stone beetles, a few well placed range shots and magic missile were enough for me to take them down. After patch, combat is maybe a little harder - I assume to due to skill rebalancing. Challenging but doable. Have to say, after the beetles I waltzed my way through the spider cave until my cipher got caught in a wall and bought it.
  19. Started a playthrough. Somehow, pathfinding is actually worse. And as a chanter, I need to be able to dismiss my summons (issues regarding selection and movement of them too). I got stuck on the ledge with the dead Skaen cultist, my skeletons on the ground miles away somehow and three wyrms blocking my entry back into the cave. Had to reload to get rid of them. Also, can you make a decision whether or not chants automatically start in combat? It seems half and half at the moment.
  20. Nah you're probably right Barbarian is 1:8 if you take the right talent during level up.
  21. I'll echo the sentiments about poison - ouch. On normal, no one died but my chanter took an absolute beasting and has a smidgen of health left.

  23. I agree with everything except the last one. That beard is ****ing majestic.
  24. popcorn.jpg Can we at least all agree that IWD and IWD2 portraits were awesome? Also, can we have that option where you repeatedly click a character and they start getting all sassy with you after a while?
  25. Druids are a little squishy I've found, considering that they've got +20 to melee. Some really cool spells, but I don't think you should be able to cast while in animal form. Chanters are brilliant. Stamina drain + constant burn is a great way to support in a fighter. Really great survivability when coupled with some priest abilities. Cipher abilities are pretty powerful. However, there is a need to get your hands dirty with Cipher for the Soul Whip ability. In melee I can very easily get my focus up to 55 without breaking a sweat (high dexterity). Drop the lightning sword thing and Soul Ignition, charm a dude and you're set. Offsetting ranged attacks for a slower regen of focus needs to be managed, having a rifle as a secondary weapon for the cipher is pretty cool notion that makes you change the way you play cipher in encounters.
