  1. It's just Fallout 3 again, except they're obviously listening and observing their playerbase by adding features from mods - which is great (I know a lot of companies would just write it off then and rely even more on modders)... It would be even greater if they also knew how to actually write an awesome story of course. But this looks like a solid foundation for a future expansion made by a company who knows how to tell a story.
  2. I worked a sting in psychiatry (rehab) and I noticed that people with clinical depression seemed to take a lot of pictures of themselves too. Although that seemed to be more of a 'affirmation of self'. But yeah, its certainly seems very closely tied to the perception of self worth, both the extremely exaggerated and the not so much.
  3. At a rally, which was cool, but I was amazed how much crowds have changed in the last 5 years. Some people were spending the entire time taking pictures of themselves constantly and I mean constantly.. And this was not 16 year olds, it was 30 and 40 year olds, all of them women. I literally started laughing out loud when two of them got up on their chairs in the middle of a speech to take photos of themselves and immediately after, one of them asked the guy next to her (she came alone so this was a stranger) if he'd walk up close to the podium and take a picture of her.. How self absorbed can you get? I was however relieved to see him just stare at her in disbelief and promptly ignore her for the rest of the evening.
  4. But seriously, the fallout series have made me fall in love with so much weird music (for my non gamer friends). I even bonded with an old lady I visited as I recognized the Ink Spots, made her so happy that my generation knew those songs haha.
  5. Monaco - have an extra copy in case someone wants it.
  6. Nidhogg - hilarious little title, get it for 2 €/$ during the sale. Very much worth the price if you enjoy stickmen fighting.
  7. Because rigid moral dichotomy is detrimental to believable characters. Just like "I know you're gonna say/do this, so when you do it I'm totally gonna be rightfully outraged" is detrimental to any real debate.
  8. I wonder if its in response to the paid mod crap storm? They seem to have suddenly implemented a few very wanted features.
  9. Not in my experience, the game is even more buggy now after the various DLCs and "fixes" - it's the only game I'v ever played where I had to learn how to remove "dirty edits" for it to work properly. And that's the most recent release... edit: ah you said "crashes" .. hmm, well I guess they did.
  10. I know it ruins a joke to discuss its merits - but they would get slaughtered in less than a month.. so I fully support this idea!
  11. Higher wages all around could also means more purchases as consumers are better off and can afford to spend more, or means restaurants could raise prices without hurting profits / scaring away customers... Raising prices doesn't automatically = fall in demand, especially not if the demand is still as high and the purchasing power follows suit.
  12. This is why you, at minimum, need a flexible system that's also secure for the worker and employeer.. a flexicurity! Administered and legislated by the local governments. So laying off people when it's time to downsize doesn't destroy the local community.
  13. I'm seeing more and more people questioning the status quo though - even my very very liberal (that's right wing here) family has started to question a debt based economical system, the growth paradigm and whether or not 'economic experts' have their best interest in mind .. Now they are pretty well off and well educated of course, so its not much of a leap for them, but that actually fills me with some hope. Just 5 years ago - animal welfare beyond a merciful death, social and economical renewability and these issues were basically a laughing stock in my hometown, definitely not so any more. The very liberal newspapers here are also questioning whether or not we should call The Alternatives plans "utopia" or if there might actually be some merits to them. Baby steps, but still...
  14. Soooo apperantly this girl worked on Fallout 4 and spilled the beans 11 months ago.. link Seems pretty reliable after seeing the trailer. Loved that she was completly laughed off for this - read the comments, it's great fun heh
  15. I just thought.. that..
  16. I'd say GalCiv2 with all expansions come pretty close.
  17. But that's on a slow thursday.. What is that 5-10.000 world wide sales maybe? That said, Skyrim and Fallout 3 are among some of the most popular games in RPG history. 'The Mob'™ seems to love it and Fallout 4 is not gonna be any better or worse, Bethesda has this approach completely ironed out by now.
  18. It's totally Azathoth, everybody knows that... Time to get the flute out.
  19. This has really been an issue since Oblivion for them. They seem utterly incapable of writing intelligent characters.... or well, humanoid characters at least. Parthunaax was slightly better than usual and so was Fawkes to a degree.
  20. wook at thwose wittle feet!
  21. Can't wait for the New Vegas mod port into the new engine though.
  22. Just released a mod for Distant World Universe, so I'm playing that and testing it out.. It's a little unbalanced, but it's a very easy and fun platform to mod (mostly txt based).
  23. Racism, egotism etc is a result of a scarcity mindset. A fear of limited resources and "not getting what I'm entitled to" and people taking more than they are worth - and so leaving you without, while those "less deserving" have more. In a post materiel society that kind of mindset would have a much harder time manifesting, as everyone would in all practicality have access to virtually unlimited resources. Selfesteem issues however would be rampant, as Facebook has demonstrated.. Everyone would focus on how much better everyone else is at utilizing said unlimited resources. New technology, new issues..
