  1. This is one occasion where I *wish* was seeing advertisements on youtube lmao
  2. I've never been able to do much of *anything* on psychedelics...
  3. I smoked weed a *lot* while playing Pillars 1. Like...a *lot*. But unfortunately I had to move out of Washington State and into my parents house in the Midwest earlier this year, so my weed smoking has been extremely curtailed.
  4. I for one will be holding Sawyer to that commitment of not reducing party size any further in any future game.I'm hoping that, in the next game, party size will be reduced to 5 dwarves. So two-and-a-half character, depending on how you count them. Weight-wise it’s a 10 man party. How dare you. Dwarves wear heavy armour, that's all. Yeah, being five feet wide at the shoulder has *nothing* to do with it, right?
  5. This is not an indie game.*confused* Obsidian is a mid-size independent developer who is making a game using a combination of self-funding and crowdfunding. Unless you’re operationally defining “indie” some other way Yes, I can understand that you are confused. You seem to think all independent game companies are indies. They're not. Indie companies have small budgets and few employees (less than 25 atleast). So no, Obsidian is not an indie. You’re gonna be so shocked when I tell you what word “indie” is a bastardization of. "There is no exact, widely accepted definition of what constitutes an "indie game", however, indie games generally share certain characteristics. Indie games are developed by individuals, small teams, or small independent companies; companies that are often specifically formed for the development of one specific game. Typically, indie games are smaller than mainstream titles. Indie game developers are generally not financially backed by video game publishers (who are risk-averse and prefer big-budget games) and usually have little to no budget available. Being independent, indie developers do not have controlling interests or creative limitations and do not require publisher approva as mainstream game developers usually do. Design decisions are thus also not limited by the allocated budget." They are not an "indie studio". They do not make "indie games". Just because "indie" is a shortened form of "independent" does not make them equivalent, any more than "bro" and "brother" are interchangeable terms (they are not).
  6. That stretch goal was reached with ease, so it will be in the final game. Oh man, I TOTALLY forgot about this. It's going to be so great. What a brilliant idea. I like how the achievements play a role as well. My Steam has had achievements locked for quite some time. No idea why, though. Wonder if I'll even be able to use Berath's Blessing.
  7. Exactly. They made first Pillars without having in mind it'll ahve a sequel. And, tbh, Deadfire might be a continuation of the main character but not of the first game's story. It has nothing to do with Thaos and the LEaden Key or anything. It's about Eothas coming back and you chasing after him. Exactly. Each story is connected to the same set of underlying thematic ideas and narrative keys--the Saint's War, the nature of the Gods, the Engwithans, etc.--but is a complete and separate story in it's own right.
  8. You literally *watch* all that happen for the first 60 seconds of the Fig campaigns launch trailer...
  9. I didn't know anything about Critical Role before this announcement, so to me this is just a sudden influx of talented voice actors.
  10. Badass! So that's what they've been working on so feverishly for the last month!
  11. I'm running an i7-2600K CPU at 3.4Ghz with 16 gigs of ram, a Radeon RX 560 video card, and 4 terabytes of hard drive storage. I've had no issues of any sort with the beta, except for some jerky movement on the overland map that is rather annoying.
  12. GOG doesn’t support this kind of content linking. The issue is GOG, not Obsidian.Honestly the issue is also Obsidian. This kind of promotion should've been researched before preorders were opened to public (and backer keys given out to backers), and in light of GoG not supporting it they should have had an alternative solution prepared beforehand or the promo should have been unveiled at the time preorders were so that people who care about this can make an informed decision about their platform. As it is, as someone who preordered on GoG I feel kind of cheated, because I chose the platform (which happened ~2 months ago) purely on basis of where I bought previous part of the game, not realizing that I'd lock myself out of a cool, if small, bonus content. I'm hopeful mind you - based on what Eric said - hopeful Obsidian will come through and equalize things in the end, but at the moment it does leave a bit of bad taste in my mouth. Or GOG could just be not so hard to do business with.
  13. Someone in another thread ( https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/96804-deadfire-scavenger-hunt/ ) said that gog was being worked on. Where did you read that gog users won't get them? The exact quote from Obsidian is "However, we're looking into what we can do for GOG users and hope to have something soon!"
  14. It actually wasn't that clearly done the last time I checked it, but I see it is now, so kudos.
  15. The information in that thread is scattered through 21 pages; it's time-consuming and difficult to find, mostly because they were trying to decipher the codes as they came out. Now that we know it's not a cipher or anything and rather just codes to be entered, all that information (specifically the codes themselves) should be consolidated.
  16. Just looted this dagger and noted that exact problem, came here to report it and found you already had.
  17. Yeah but she's kind of a giant **** to everybody while she does it. She treats Geralt terribly throughout the game and it's played as some sort of epic troubled romance, but she's just really mean to him all the time. When she accused him of cheating on her when he was amnesiac and being lied to, I decided she was pretty terrible and I hated her.So is Geralt. She can be brutal, but also tends to be right. Isn’t it excusable for her to be furious that Geralt ****ed her best friend? “Yen, I lost my memory. Is that your excuse?” It’s not cool. I would be disappointed if she just accepted that. She calms down quite a bit, if you continue her romance. Geralt didn't "**** her best friend". Geralt was amnesiac and manipulated in to a sexual relationship when he had no way of knowing it was not true. Triss *raped him*. That's what that is; she took advantage of his vulnerable state to manipulate him into a sexual relationship that he would not otherwise have engaged in. That's the problem I see there. Geralt was taken advantage of; Yen only see's how it affects her, and utterly ignores the fact that *Geralt was raped*. Triss is a **** person for having done that; Yen is a **** person for not caring that it was done to him and only seeing how it affects her. This isn't a one time thing, either; throughout their "romance" Geralt is continually ignoring, defending, or denying that Yen consistently treats him like **** and only cares about how things are affecting *her*. It's even commented on by other people; Yen treats him like a dog and Geralt goes along with it because he "loves her".
  18. KOTOR 2 contains what I feel to be one of the best Star Wars stories ever told, period. The game is flawed in a myriad of ways, but that is an epic and spectacular Star Wars tale.
  19. Yen is not terrible. She can be a bit unempathetic but she acts on pretty solid logic. She has good reasons for doing things she does. Yeah but she's kind of a giant **** to everybody while she does it. She treats Geralt terribly throughout the game and it's played as some sort of epic troubled romance, but she's just really mean to him all the time. When she accused him of cheating on her when he was amnesiac and being lied to, I decided she was pretty terrible and I hated her.
