Fallout 3
It's not getting my money.

I only told you to balance the equation!

The truism that in war the truth is the first casualty applies. Of course the US tries to avoid civilian death, but if they happen to screw the pooch it's not like they are going to come out and admit it. They are just going to say 'we don't know, they could have been insurgents'. Point of fact, it's happened that way in Iraq a couple of times already. The level of indiscriminacy is lower than say for instance in Gaza, when Israel carries out its policy of assassinations, or 'targeted killings' as they like to call them. Simply because A, the US has easy access, and B the question of hearts and minds can't be ignored.- Dead Space
Aren't we forgetting that the constant 'look behind you' scares in Doom 3 were bloody annoying. I much prefer them coming out of vents, or the ceiling, or the corridor ahead, it preserves some believability.- Fallout 3
Or like Morrowind, where you trek around for a few days having fun exploring and eventually lose all interest because everything is essentially the same only different.- Fallout 3 First Impressions
Some of the perks appear to grant dialogue options and there appears to be a lot of them. So if you don't buy dialogue perks, a lot of the options won't be available. I don't see why you would need special training to talk to people. I mean, one or two of those would be acceptable, but it really looks like there's too many.- X3: Terran Conflict
Go there fetch that, give to NPC here. Can't have computer games without it.- We did WHAT!?
I could take offence to that, given I have friends in the US Army. They do give a damn. But that's not really what you mean. You mean the organisation. However, as I've just explained, there's a massive organisation which tries to minimise civilian casualties. moreover you can bet that if you could come up with a way to entirely remove civilian casualties they'd buy it immediately. You'd be a millionairre. Whereas a terrorist would have no use for such a device. They NEED to kill civilians to scare the bojangles out of people. I should also point out that according to the Syrians, the attack wasn't an air strike. It was a special forces team. Makes it rather less likely that those killed where civilians (although clearly far from impossible). Ref n00bo's question, I don't know what constitutes an unlawful combatant, but I think it is something to do with wearing a uniform, and not including persons wearing the red cross or red crescent. Sounds like a nice device, but really isn't that a rather childish hypothetical. War, military operations, they costs lives, innocents lives too. You do what you can, but accept it as the price of achieving an objective. If you were merely trying to show that they weren't as bad as the terrorists, well, it's not that hard being better than a terrorist, no browny points for that achievement alone. Of course it's in Syrias interest to prove that the US slaughtered a kindergarten to achieve its aim, but one would be just as foolish to accept an official US military version of what happened.- Dead Space
I guess it' having some effect, because I found myself sitting through the most trifling romance movie, I guess in the way of antidote. lol.- Fallout 3
So how is it already- Dead Space
I dunno, the baddies just don't seem that scary design wise, it's just too much, had they looked more human on the other hand... Although there was this one time where I had no ammo left and had to get to an elevator with only a few shots in the 'time warp gun'. they were blocking my path so I had to beat them to death, one swing that misses and one of them would have latched on to me. That was pretty intense. By the way, is there any way you can break free once one of them has clasped onto you and is chewing your arms off. I kept pressing the mele button, but it didn't seem to do anything.- Dead Space
The problem is the non aiming navigational mouse, what you use to look around, versus the aiming mouse. If you want half decent aiming you have to crank the sensitivity up so high the slightest twist of the mouse will send you on a 180 degree spin.- We did WHAT!?
Yes, that is a bit strange. What would you need flies for.- We did WHAT!?
In any case An Associated Press journalist at the funerals in the village cemetery saw the bodies of seven men - none of them children. The discrepancy could not immediately be explained. The Syrian press is not exactly a beacon on neutrality.- We did WHAT!?
I think he's mistaking terrorism with the usual eggs that get broken when governments make omelets. Human rights go out the window as soon as we are talking about the national interests of a major power. I'm sure the US would have preferred no 'collateral damage', but it's not like that was ever a deal breaker.- We did WHAT!?
Well there are obvious dangers to spreading the conflict further. Whats next, a raid into Iran, we all know they wholeheartedly support the insurgents.- 1956 - Your connection to it
For Shame- We did WHAT!?
The Syrian govt is a bit of a joke, considering the amount of leverage wielded by Hezbollah. However, going in and assassinating people on foreign soil, that's the kinda thing you would expect of Israel, not the US.- Dead Space
There is no level system, instead you find upgrade canisters a la Deus Ex and upgrade your suits or your weapons, the weapons all have special abilities, overall it's much the same effect as a leveling system, albeit more primitive. There's no jumping except in zero grav where you get to walk on the walls, which is pretty cool. Otherwise you get the same feeling of wishing you could do more with the environment as in the witcher. There is no quicksave, but save stations, and a ATMs where you buy upgrades a la System Shock. The baddies are like something out of a Warhammer Chaos army. If you have seen the movie Event Horizon, it captures the mood pretty well, so far not that much character interaction.- Dead Space
So after downloading a logitech applet for my mouse, I was able to boost the mouse speed even further, so now I can actually aim without slowdowns, it's a mite choppy though probably because it wasn't intended for actual 'real time aiming'. Now I have another problem, just the smallest touch of the mouse will turn me 180 degrees, which can be a problem when a nasty pops up and you turn your back to him.- Dead Space
This falls into the category of bad PC port. You can't aim properly either. I had to turn mouse sensitivity all the way up in both the mouse applet in windows and in the game, just to get it so I could look around at the turn of the wrist instead of requiring several feet of free space. The superior aiming operation of a mouse seems to have been deliberately sabotaged as well. Whenever you enter aim mode, pointing slows down so much you can either flail the mouse spastically to try to bring your gun to bear faster, or simply contend with a constant speed handicap. I realise this gap between intention and finding your aim on a console is larger, but it's not supposed to be a factor on a pc. I can't recommend this at all unless you use a controller, and it's not really the kind of game that benefits from a controller either. Well, possible maneuvering in space, I haven't gotten that far yet. What keeps me at it is the sound mixing and the atmosphere. The baddies themselves look, I dunno, a little too over the top to be scary.- Dead Space
First thing I've noticed is that I can't reassign movement keys to the arrow keys. FFS, I mean, I'm not an expert but how ****ing hard can it be to implement proper remapping. I can't stand WASD, it's just a thing I've always suffered from. Enter, Arrow keys, Numerical keyboard, can only be mapped to certain seemingly arbitrary functions, The rest it seems must me either letters, numbers or F-keys. You can move with F1 through 10, but not the arrow keys. Just brilliant.- Dead Space
Ok so I bought it, at a games store chain I hate no less so I had to pay more. I'm collecting heads if it sucks donkey balls, just so you know. Installing now.- The last game you will ever play
**** I dunno.- Dead Space
The suit looks a bit silly, everything else looks well thought out. 'Necromorphs' lols. gimme a break. Also, it's EA, that means the game is not a keeper, right, you can only use it for 3 installs or hardware changes. - We did WHAT!?
