  1. Polish doesn't sound cool enough, sorry. I wouldn't want Danish voice packs even if they existed.
  2. I dunno, these 'systems' can be pretty damn invasive once they are in place. I dislike the notion of being surveiled by well meaning social services a lot more than having handguns banned and hunting rifles hard to get. You definitely need someone to turn to if you are a police or a teacher and have a genuine worry about what some kid is going to do though.
  3. I'm really getting into this game, even though the combat is a little finicky it's a proper CRPG, been a long time since I played one of those. Don't have the early release to compare with but the skins and animations look just fine to me. Runs smooth too. Our hero's dialogue is a bit fan-fictionish but the voice actor got it right, at least he sounds 'ard. I only play on 'Over the shoulder' camera mode, the rest are useless. Once again though you find myself thwarted by a one foot obstacle, this is a serious setback for immersion. Would have been nice to have proper jumping, but I guess this way you can apply more polish to whats there. Imagine Assassin's creed movement and combat mechanics applied to this game for a minuite, drool.
  4. Well I haven't played it that much, I suppose it's possible that it can grow on you.
  5. I'm spending all my skill points on combat moves to get it a level above boring, probably not a good build but otherwise it's just not interesting enough. Other than that it's not that bad, the voice acting isn't terrible, you semi care about some of the NPCs. The music and atmosphere are good, which counts for a lot. Also, just got my first dirty postcard. All the women are various degrees of extremely well endowed in the chest region, it's a nice distraction when you don't care what they're talking about. lols. The combat system is point and click, interspaced with force powers (signs) but at least you haven't got a whole party to manage like in KOTOR. For some reason that is really hard to comprehend attacking an opponent that is one foot taller than the guy standing next to him requires a whole new combat discipline. The 'styles' are just a poor attempt at disguising that there isn't that much going on or skill involved in the hack and slash. The overall atmosphere makes up for it though.
  6. Looks promising, although the combat is retarded, I was kinda hoping for something better after having just played Gothic 3. Camera can't pan properly. Why does every game I try these days have to re invent the wheel.
  7. Problem solved, looks like I didn't have admin privileges before.
  8. No luck, trying to update the game just hangs the computer.
  9. The patch has an icon and looks like a program after a reboot, so it might be ok after all. It says the patch might take 2 HOURS to complete. Maybe the process wasn't actually dead despite saying so in the task manager.
  10. So i downloaded the 1 gig patch and registered the game, the patch doesn't even have an icon, looks like a DOS batch process, I scanned it for Viruses I ran it and it froze. Jeez.
  11. It's just baiting, it's like what old married couples do instead of fighting because they have done it a 1000 times already.
  12. By the way, it didn't ask me for the serial during install, but there's one on the back of the manual, is this normal
  13. I bought the witcher on my way home and after rooting around in some east European language site and pressing the 'Squingij' button I think I'm downloading an Enhanced edition patch, plus a Language patch. 3 easy steps my arse, what am I supposed to to with these. In what order, where do I run them from.
  14. Yes, I had the same type of problem recently. Get rid of Rosbjerg's **** by clearing the cache.
  15. It's tradition. In the 60s, 70s, and 80s it was 'what are you, a Communist'. Hell, they even said it of Martin Luther King. Fierce independence can be a good thing I suppose, although most of the time Americans apply some freakish local ingrown toenail of the concepts of Liberalism and Socialism. They don't know what it actually means in the rest of the world.
  16. I wonder if we should really leave so important a decision to US Citizens, I mean, look at their track record.
  17. I think what this means is that the writing on the wall is that more games will be developed for consoles first and foremost, and then ported to PC. All things being equal that will lessen quality. As far as I can tell this is already happening with a number of games. I don't see why developers would not port to PC if the game is a success, that would be throwing away money.
  18. I didn' t say Obama was a better candidate, that's what I think, but It wasn't the point I was trying to make. I think you need people with some idea of coming up with answers themselves as opposed to being completely at the mercy of their staff. I suggest MaCaine might be too old for the job.
  19. Isn't McCaine in his 70s, I think thats a little old for the job. If he's just going to be a figurehead whats the point. That might be ageism I suppose, but I believe qualifications other than 'he's a hero' are in order.
  20. Well thats reasuring I suppose, although as with windows activation, It wouldn't be able to tell certain hardware changes from being another computer. Thats bad news if you upgrade a lot.
  21. Wrong thread, Dooh. Ahh well it's almost the same.
  22. Interesting. A remake on the Wii would be a good fit, I think. Especially with the new Plus thingie that's supposed to make the Wiimote more exact. Yeah, I tried it at a friend's house, the gameplay was crap. All hype if I remember correctly.
