So whats your take on 'the boy threw up', can you appreciate where I'm coming from by viewing 'threw up' as the verb and not bothering one bit about the preposition.

The point I was trying to make is that 'up' is certainly a preposition, but thinking in groups of meaning, as when you assign syntax within a clause, 'threw up' constitutes one, and further analysis does nothing to improve ones understanding, in fact the opposite is the case. In the grammar I learned long ago one could call it a prepositional clause or a verb clause post modified by a preposition, but a descriptive language like grammatical analysis often forces conclusions that are irrelevant.

'threw up' is one syntactic unit, not two. The preposition only reveals itself at the morphological level. I'd say it was an exception, which is all good. Exceptions are what makes us remember the rules as much as the rules themselves.

How do you beat the battle with the herald of Zehir. I mean the thing is invulnerable, even if you could stay alive long enough to focus on it, it regenerates. Best effort so far has been to clear them out with the exception of one Yuan ti priest, and the herald. I cast 3 gate spells from scrolls, and all that did was slow them down a bit. Well one could reasonably argue that 'Islam' constitutes the sum total of practices and dogma. The Alevi would disagree. That was interesting, I knew very little about the Alevi. I should qualify that the Muslim women only wear the headscarf and such when they go to the mosque. Really, I thought that was only the case with very few reformed Islamic countries such as Turkey. In any case you cannot be an Islamic woman and escape ostracisation if you do not wear it. I can't say anything about what it's like having to face that kind of pressure, the experience is beyond me. Most women seem to focus on the discrimination they experience from the outside, which is an expected dynamic. That doesn't mean that there isn't something inherently discriminatory at the core.
