I really WANT to stick with NWN2. However, SoZ is right up there with Far Cry 2 in giving me quite a dissappointing feeling. I will see what happens. My intuition tells me that all of these shortcomings should have been solved by now - particularly in the engine for maximum performance with modern specs. Load times, shotty camera movements, lack of multi-core support etc. I just don't see how it can compete with whats out now. Like I said, I will stick to it with some patience. My hopes were tied to having a great single player experience which, in turn, propelled me to an immersive PW experience. Something that I enjoyed wtih NWN 1. Seems to have been left behind I fear.

Yeah, I am gonna try what Karka linked from tweakguides to see if that helps. I will let you know later on. Yeah, it just seems that certain maps are really choppy. For example, the Openpalm Bazaar is just sad. No fun even being there. What up with that? I guess I will try it with V-Sync on and Triple Bufffering this time. Putting the game on a single processer did seem to speed up the loading times. But I have the mouse scrolls (all of them) put to the slowest possible and in the Bazzaar they are still wicked fast. I imagine it is going to have to be patched over time.

Why are all three of NWN2 games - OC, MotB, SoZ so damn lacking in performance - laggy, low FPS etc. Compared to Assassins Creed and Far Cry 2 this game runs like shat. Is it the engine? Just asking. All of my games run so much better than this game and I love NWN. Furthermore, I get the feeling that the engine NWN2 runs on is quite old. Shouldn't it run like Butter? What up? I guess I will just splurge and get the enhanced version. The packaging looks great and I have heard nothing but good things about the gameplay itself.

So as of now (November) if I buy the original version of the game, can I get the patch for free? Or, do I have to buy Enhanced Version at this point?
