Dollhouse
I dunno, I kinda suspect it would have been better if it had just been 3. Too much filler across the board. The pilots and the double headers where all excellent though. 45 minute intervals seem to spell doom. It's plenty of time do do nothing, and not enough time to do something worthwhile.

The right to vote in a meritocratic society
Countries are overrated. We should live in village sized anarchist communes practicing direct democracy. The representative part of representative democracy is the problem, without it corruption, two facedness, playing to the lowest common denominator, these things just aren't as useful when you look the constituency in the face every day.

Fallout 3
Also stopping the game in the middle of combat to open the pipboy and heal yourself, repair your weapons or switch between them, have a look at the map, read some books and have tea and biscuits... it's pretty silly. They should have made weapon slots you could scroll through with with the mouse like in practically every shooter.

The Battlestar Galactica Thread
It's obviously an ill disguised mechanism to allow Gaius to be a major player again with his cadre of killer concubines. I didn't believe it though, even despite clearly showing Adama's fear of everything Cylon.

The Battlestar Galactica Thread
Some of the characters are really suffering under the weight of all this pent up plot that's landing everywhere all of a sudden. Adama arming Gaius' harem, Saul Tigh, Tyrol wanting to fix the Gallactica, and then run away at the next moment. It's made all the worse by the audience not having any idea what motivates the 'final five', the actors haven't got anywhere familiar to ground their characters.

The right to vote in a meritocratic society
They already handle that in primary schools. You can't graduate from anywhere without taking a social sciences course. I'm sure the US is the same, although you can't force people to listen.

Farewell
I'm presently doing the song and dance with the unemployment insurance office, making money doing nothing. Ain't welfare states grand. Sucky situation, I hope you manage to dig yourself out of it.

Dollhouse
It's certainly not better than a random anime.

The Expendables
How about listing a top 10 of 70s action films you like, I might check some out if I don't know em already. I dunno if French connection is an action film, it has a car chase sure, but not much in the way of bang bang.

The right to vote in a meritocratic society
That would be undemocratic obviously, the first step in the creation of an officially stamped elite caste, and who would decide what citizens were more worthy than others.

The right to vote in a meritocratic society
What does one have to do with the other, a meritocracy means the best people are promoted by virtue of their accomplishments. Are you suggesting we should dole out voting power the same way. At least part of the American meritocracy is an illusion, apply yourself, work hard, and if you try hard enough you get a slice of the American dream. It's ideology, the facts are that wealth or poverty, influence or indifference more often runs through generations. If you have a cushion of wealth to pass on to your children to buy them expensive educations they are going to do better regardless of talent.

The Expendables
I've always preferred some degree of realism or at least believability in action scenes. John Woo type stuff tends to piss me off as much as it entertains me. When the violence gets too cartoonish, it loses me. I utterly loathed Shoot 'Em Up There are a couple of exceptions to that rule, Hard Boiled, The killer, even Face Off, the latter has really cartoony action but somehow it's good anyway. He's done plenty of stinkers, but few directors know how to get an action scene to flow as well has him. My pet peeve is kung fu movies that aren't grounded in reality. Flying around like superman, running on water or parting a whole forest with one sword chop, that pisses me off no end. If you don't believe it the danger and suspense vanishes. 70s and 80s hollywood action films are almost universally bad.

The Witcher Character Builds
Last time around I ignored silver styles and built up aard and igeni instead. Also planned on building up the rest of the signs with the points I had in spare, but they turned out to be as useless as I had feared, so I stopped. Lots of points in endurance meant I could win fights without using my sword except between aard or igeni being charged up. Igeni is perhaps too good though, winning fights using only that sign got to be boring.

The Expendables
Stallone is not a good director though. and the actors aren't good enough to make up for it.

Piracy never threatened the bottom line before the proliferation of broad band connections. Now the means of sharing anything are so prevalent it's no wonder copyright holders are going ape****.

Movies you have seen recently
Ron Pearlman has been in loads of poor movies. Later on in the movie there is a shot for shot rip off of, I think it's one of the half life 1 adons, can't remember, where the protagonist is turned into a mutant.

What are you playing now?
The starter lazer cutter is the best gun in the game unless you need to take out something with a ludicrous amount of hitpoints. I recommend upgrading that, and your suit, then take a heavy gun as you begin to have spare upgrade canisters for it. Money is better spent on ammo than wading around with 8 guns you can only use poorly.

Embarrassing question
My brother used to go around talking to himself in morse code while preparing for some kind of seaman qualification, back in the days morse code was still required. 'Di daa di daa daa daa di'. Drove the rest of us crazy.
