  1. Well I wouldn't have wasted time critiquing if I didn't think there was a lot of potential there, only some of which was realised.
  2. I don't think there was a perfect way to wrap up all that baggage. They did reasonably well, not falling into the trap of trying to explain everything. Some elements did feel a little cheesy though. Driving the fleet into the sun, Starbuck going 'poof'.
  3. One big Deus Ex Machina that the entire fleet would agree to throw away technology and go native just like that. Didn't sit right with me at all.
  4. The cinematography was groundbreaking at the time. Hasn't got much in the way of humans actually acting though.

If you had only stopped to write a formula, alas, the mathematical theory of everything is lost to the ages.
  6. It really does boggle the mind that they didn't 'cheat' and script some enemy fleet landings knowing that the AI couldn't do it alone. It worked fine with the old engine, Vikings and Saxons landing in England etc.

I am reminded of Achilles and the tortoise. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeno%27s_para...nd_the_tortoise Not having taken any math past high school I don't understand why one would chose to focus on Achilles reaching a number of imaginary and exponentially shorter gaps between himself and the tortoise in the first place. That was always the paradox to me.
  8. It's what you might call a confused metaphor.
  9. Your own farts, or your own strawmen, they always smell sweeter don't they.
  10. Such as? And no not trying to be a smart arse, indeed asking. Random google, Cheetah+genetics. But changing human attitudes toward cheetahs is only part of the battle to save Earth's fastest land mammal. The big cat also has genetic problems
  11. I have been playing as the Indians and have thrown all western colonizing forces out and united the country, now Afghanistan and Kashmir are rebelling at the same time, sound familiar... I am about to lose patience in dealing with a land purchase proposal every single turn from at least 5 powers though. I'm tempted to declare war on them all just to shut them up. The army is fun to play with, although it takes too long to get the elephant musketeers and the big cannons and siege mortars that somewhat make up for the lack of long range infantry. Dedicated melee units with swords like Sikh warriors can make a huge difference kept behind the lines ready to pounce once the enemy engages with bayonets. The general's bodyguard is a small unit of Elephant musketeers, so providing you have the funds you can spawn up to the maximum number of generals and bolster a weak army with elephant tanks wherever needed.
  12. 'Sy Fy' sounds like someone transcribed 'Sci Fi' without knowing the phonetic symbols. It also sounds stupid, no matter what their focus groups said.
  13. Agents would be queuing up to sign their actors up for Bangladeshi flood awareness charities.
  14. Didn't know here, don't care. Now if I had prior knowledge that someone here knew the person in question on a personal basis that would be another matter. As it stands 'eulogy threads' for TV acquaintances, gimme a break. Write something about what her work meant to you instead.
  15. " I refuse to use the word 'blog' because it sounds like something that lives in the bottom of a riverbed and communicates through farts" Gold.
  16. I'm going to restart as the Russians, England is too easy now to bother finishing. I think Very hard/hard is the way to go, especially since you are the only one capable of sending troops on a ship.
  17. My god i'd go insane if I had to live with my sister. Any one of them.
  18. Bored the hell out of me, so did Slumdog Millionaire. What can I say, I'm a shallow person.
  19. actually the cheetah is believed to have survived having a gene pool of less than 1000 individuals. It still has a few quirks as a result of inbreeding.
  20. Because Hera is one of the many plot hooks left dangling with 2 episodes to go, the writers needed to tie things together, no matter how poorly they fit. Adama's agenda has always been the survival of the fleet, and here he goes sending half of his pilots on a suicide mission to rescue one girl, who for all he knows Cabal has already gotten what he wanted from. No, it most definitely does not make sense.
  21. It's because they copy pasted the Orc(z) from Fantasy Battle without thinking.
  22. Well it's obvious at this point that Gallactica is going on a suicide mission, ramming the station or something, and Adama goes down with his ship, how could he not.
  23. Tropic thunder was hilarious, up to about half way where deal with the rebels and there's too much 'simple jack', and it generally gets tedious. Kirk Lazerous, WTF....
