  1. The musketfire comes and go goes and half the battles end in crashes. Not to mention massive lag on the campaign map once you have a lot of regions and a lot of trade routes. Every time you click on your capital or on any ships in the same theater there is a 4 second lag. They said they fixed the boarding bug that would cause a crash, and I just had to reboot because my computer froze when I ordered a ship to board. I'm going to shelf this for the time being.
  2. Either way you can't go completely wrong with triad Kung-Fu ladyboys. Trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvqtBPzMeM8...=response_watch
  3. Chocolate, it's like a Thai version of Karate Kid, pretty good although a bit slow in some places. Lots of homage to Ong Bak, which is fine I guess, although Chocolate is a better movie. Ong Bak 1 and 2 are absolutely horrid with the exception of the fights, which are absolutely brilliant. This has ok martial arts and better acting.
  4. I recommend trying out the hardest campaign difficulty and playing a mainland nation. I'm playing as France and had no choice but to invade England after they declared war and blocked the channel, it's been 10 or so turns back and forth with every battle mattering. I now hold Scotland and the British navy has been sufficiently reduced to allow reinforcements and trade income some turns as well. Two of the minor nations around Italy have taken advantage and are on the attack, only one stack left to hold them off in Italy, if I lost it they are going to raid all my buildings in France and I'll go bankrupt.
  5. Unless what happens in past island doesn't affect what happens in future island. Parallel planes and whatnot.
  6. They aren't engaged in a resistance movement, they are engaged in a civil war with the other half of Ireland to determine whether or not they are going to resist.
  7. Taken is a pretty straight forward action flick, He basically 'Jack Bauer's the hell out of the slavers who stole his daughter. Would have been better with a more realistic approach, but then so would 24.
  8. The soundmixing somehow got worse. It's like a couple of channels are missing. Don't think the musket sounds were that good to begin with, also I was trying out the Austrians and after the patch I lost the ability to recruit Grenziers, which are like the creme de la creme of light infantry. This game has a lot of promise, but I think it would have been better if they had limited it more. Or separated the theaters like they did in their last release. One unique campaign for crusades, one for Americas, one for the Teutons, etc. Still annoying is the lag on fleet movement. Just clicking on one of my ports instigates a 4-5 second pause sometimes.
  9. Yeah it's one of my Favorites. Tossup between that and Sen to Chihiro no Kamukakushi

    NBC's Kings

I think the term is spoofing, not masking. Anyway it involves a small app, can't remember the name, that fools websites into thinking you are from wherever instead of Denmark.

    NBC's Kings

You could get around that by masking your IP. Generally, downloading TV shows off the internet is not something I feel the least bit guilty about. It's miles apart from pirating games or applications.
  12. Howl no ugoku shiro, Howl's Moving Castle. Classical Japanese animation, not anime. Very charming. I can recommend.
  13. Yeah, I think they seriously overrated the back story's use for a whole movie. The others are pretty good.
  14. In Denmark you can apply for favorable startup loans and tax benefits, unfortunately most of us feel too comfortable being salary slaves. Up to about a decade ago the government would even write you a check to get your business going. No money for those kinds of shenanigans in today's economy.
  15. Shat. ****. Interesting, you can overcome the filter with grammar. Incidentally you should worry about what this place is doing to your language. Yes I'm looking at you Walsh. Little stars do not belong in written language. Losing my father to cancer was a really rough time for me, keep your chin up.
  16. Better colour representation as well as contrast. LCD's can't match their lower ranges (blackness levels) I've got one too, the damn thing refuses to break so I can get a flatscreen.
  17. I slept right through my alarm clock and missed a meeting with a professor at uni which took ages to set up. I'm going to be angry at the world for the rest of today at least. Why does one always think it's possible to close one's eyes 'just for a few minutes' when dead tired.
  18. I think the litmus test is whether a film works on it's own premise. Whether it 'closes in on itself' to form something unique and uncompromising. If that makes any sense. Sci Fi movies almost automatically look dated a decade after their release simply because expectations and technology changes. Blade runner gets around that by its superb cinematography. It's a beautiful film. It's not fantastic acting by everyone all the time that does it, it's this inexplicable something I tried to characterize above which is also what constitutes a great work of art. And of course the movie should never be compared with the book, I mean of course that is going to happen, but it is in my view a fundamental mistake to regard the generic movie and book as anything other than distant relations touching on some of the same themes. This is also why I can stand watching LoTR for instance. A movie can't possibly compete with what notions you create in your own mind as you read the book.
  19. Is this where they supply the game and graphics processing and you only supply the input.
  20. Best part of planet terror. The Machete preview was in Planet terror, Death Proof is the one with Kurt Russel as a psycho stunt driver. Machete
  21. I really hate the way the AI sends one unit to attack and a whole stack as reserve, you can only see one enemy deployment zone, so the rest could come from anywhere, including spawning right in the middle of your massed artillery. Even worse when you have an insignificant force attacked and your stack with all your best units in reserve are fed piecemeal to the enemy with no hope of setting up a defensive position. Really poor change from the old reinforce from the rear system. You can't do anything to avoid this kind of massacre. Your army will join even if it had no movement points at the end of the turn. A simple yes/no to reinforcements would have been nice.
  22. On the topic of sentimental favorites I'll throw some in, Down by Law and Ghost Dog by Jim Jarmusch. Also Woody Allen. He made practically the same movie 40 times while he was married to Mia Farrow but they're pretty funny most of them anyway. I like the way his neurotic dialogues drive the scenes.
  23. I understand where Enoch is coming from. I however, loved Rutger's speech in the end, almost bringing a mantear out of me From memory 'I've watched sea beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate, attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I take it back, that's not cement. The soundtrack is awesomely merged there as well.
  24. So, what the hell did you write in the caption.
  25. Why is pissed censored. That doesn't make any sense. It might be the past perfect of piss, but that's incidental the most common usages. Gorillas are awesome.
