Well one could reasonably argue that 'Islam' constitutes the sum total of practices and dogma. The Alevi would disagree. That was interesting, I knew very little about the Alevi. I should qualify that the Muslim women only wear the headscarf and such when they go to the mosque. Really, I thought that was only the case with very few reformed Islamic countries such as Turkey. In any case you cannot be an Islamic woman and escape ostracisation if you do not wear it. I can't say anything about what it's like having to face that kind of pressure, the experience is beyond me. Most women seem to focus on the discrimination they experience from the outside, which is an expected dynamic. That doesn't mean that there isn't something inherently discriminatory at the core.

I'm the guy who lobbied for over a year to have a Firefox spell check bug (which I reported) fixed so that "dialogue" would be a recognized spelling of that word. I'm almost always going to argue that getting language and accent right (even if it's intentionally wrong) is worth the effort. I don't get it, how else would you spell 'dialogue'.

The Catholic church is on record advocating against contraception in the middle of a pandemic, they also actively argue against the safety of condoms. Technically it's true that they do not provide perfect protection, but that's just muddying the waters. It's all there is. 'Abstinence', give me a break. Their ideology costs lives, unquestionably.
