  1. Uh, that seems pretty reasonable. I doubt that is their only evidence, but I don't think I know any woman that carries around a bunch of condoms. Of course maybe I'm just not meeting the right girls The first concern should be public heath, there are enough special interest groups seeking to curtail condom distribution already. If this does indeed keep prostitutes from carrying condoms for fear of getting searched that is a much more serious matter than selling sex. Official policy is encouraging behavior which increases the spread of AIDS. One has no choice but to be smart about this and think about the bigger picture.
  2. It's all entertainment business. I'm sure the greater part of the consumers out there would find Eco a bit long winded compared to Brown.
  3. I used to do something similar while playing the BG series. If even one character in my party died during a battle I would reload and try again until everyone made it through. I must have fought the Firkragg and Staff of the Magi fights dozens of times before everyone lived. That makes perfect sense. Unless you are not talking about party members who were permadead.
  4. Eastenders is a TV series about the East End. It went on forever, wasn't very good, but was supposedly realistic, or true to its subject or whatever.
  5. A story for a CRPG usually has too many restraints placed on it to be any good if viewed out of its specific context. It's never going to compete with any kind of 'proper' literature. I don't know why anyone would expect that.
  6. Who are we talkting about now, really...
  7. Might be disk fragmentation I suppose. I'd say my load times are 15-20 seconds.
  8. A mate that loves doing the washing up. I just had to cancel a dinner get-together because my mate's kitchen was so foul he couldn't get it presentable in time.
  9. Load times are so horrendous you don't want to risk entering a new area by mistake. That said a little X on your map would have been just as fine, no need to clutter the HUD with it.
  10. ohh and nukes are as good as worms since they have a capture time of 1
  11. it took me a while to realize something obvious. There is no limit to how many takeovers you can do at the same time other than what paths are open. Same goes for fortify. So the minute the alarm triggers you should attempt every open path at the same time, and then fortify whatever nodes are not captured. it requires some fast mouse clicking, but you get used to it.
  12. Traders. Or you could just hope to remain undetected, abort if you are detected right away. You can get through all hacks in the game with capture 5 and hacking stealth 3.
  13. Feels like encroaching deadline pressure in that last mission, which was probably what it was.
  14. I would have liked to have seen lock picking, melee and another city hub. That would have made it as good as the first one. Well apart from the fact that the plot wasn't as interesting, but plots are overrated anyway. It's how you get there.
  15. Well that was all before micro transaction dlcs and reliable broadband connections. A dlc type pioneered in part by Morrowind on the xbox.
  16. Well, there was only one choice which decided what kind of Chapter 2 you were going to get, and I was rather annoyed when I got to Foltest's camp that a lot of content was blocked. I would have liked to have known that I was making that choice when I gave the sqoyatel (sp) leader his sword. It didn't feel like I was shaping the story, more like being forced down a binary choice same as Witcher 1. Maybe it was the fact that they spent too much time evening things out so there were no wrong choices and no right ones either. Sure the humans persecuted the non humans, but the elves were just as murderous and, who knows, probably had done the same if they had been in the majority. So we are just left with two racist camps one of which is going to hate you, the other call you their champion. The end result was that it got hard to care about any 'cause' and this made the forced choice between them a nuisance. Consider just how much work is going to have to be put into TW3 just to fit in all the paths in TW1 and TW2 and have them be slightly significant I wouldn't worry about that, Geralt has recurring amnesia.
  17. I did get annoyed at all those logos. Does every tech used and company involved gotta have their own splash screen...
  18. Go play Witcher 2. Actually I rather hope they don't take it any further. Don't want to see Geralt redecorate the room with ejaculate.
  19. See, I negated that entire thing and got him with the typhoon. I can't believe everyone didn't see the a mile off.
  20. There was a kill-switch for Anna Navarra ?. I never knew that.
  21. Ah but I am. I love an RPG that contorts on the player's actions. I will replay a game years later and once again be impressed with it. ** What I find that I don't like much is a game whose developer decides that every location needs to be shown off to the player in one go. Its not so terrible for an area to be re-used with differing events, but IMO some areas should never be found by some PCs. ***Put more plainly... I'd be fine with entire cities not being mentioned if it went against the PCs attitudes, luck, or ethics. Consider Tortuga in Pirates of the Caribbean... I prefer freedom. If you want to get on with the main story you can do that, if you want to stop and smell the flowers and do side quests you can do that, but none of the content of the game is blocked on the first play-through. The division between humans and non humans felt as forced as it was in the first game and it would have been better left alone, although this time around they were a little better at not forcing words down your throat that you didn't even remotely agree with.
  22. So you will be running around most of the time with basic augs and weapons temporarily confiscated because otherwise getting the difficulty right would be too hard. That's about as rare as plot induced amnesia. Still, not the most important consideration.
  23. That s'posed to be a joke or sumthin'
