ahh, yes that makes sense.

It might be the ****ty keymapping I suppose, but I can't reset to default, that function is likely in conflict. Either way, nothing happens when I try.

Alt Gr toggle is not avalable in the console. Can't do [] regardless of what keyboard layout I use. From what I could gather from Wikipedia it should be, it's just not. Whaterver windows is doing to produce the keys corresponding to an American setup, it's not happening inside the console.

I'll check that out, thanks.

South Park RPG
How the hell do you make a game out of it though. It sounds as doomed to fail as Driving Miss Daisy for Wii

South Park RPG
It's a bit of a shame that they don't have a contract for a big IP though. Of course more of these less intensive projects spreads the risk out a bit. It's just hard to get excited about small time stuff like this. South Park is still hilarious, with the odd dry patch of course. Compare with Simpsons which hasn't been funny for 4 or 5 years.

What you did today
Well, North Americans do sometimes write 31st of December, 2011 as 12/31/11 or 2011-12-31, so it might have been a fair question Indeed. Listen up North America: 28.06.11 = Fine 11.06.28 = Fine 06.28.11 = INSANE Or perhaps I've missed a million other examples where formatting is done out of ordinal sequence? Any sequence where month and day can be confused = insane. It goes : day, month, year. How hard is that. Don't blame the metric system either, it's just common sense. At least the guy didn't steal your bike too. It's something.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I have about 5 broken quests now and they have stopped updating, quest pointers don't show up anymore. Time to pack it in I think, if they ever patch it for the PC it's unlikely that it wil be retroactive ad I put too much time in just to just start over. Got about half way in the main quest, which was ok I guess.

What we have now is a slump, the opposite of a bubble. It stands to reason that if we stop the cycle of boom and bust for good, if such a thing were possible, now would be a bad time to do it.

Music
Prog Rock is awesome. I kinda feel that he fell off and is surviving on 'best of' compilations the last few years though.

You can enchant a total of 4 items with a total 100 point, or % archery boost - I don't know how that works exactly, not counting two damage enchantments on the bow. Enchantment is just as overpowered as in all the TES games. There is nothing discoverable that even comes close. Similarly you don't actually need any points in magica once you can enchant your gear with dual magic school boosts.

One unintended side effect of selling the austarity measures so effectively is exactly that it's making people think they are helping by not spending. It's not the blitz, being comunally miserable for queen and country is going to make things worse.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
The longer I play the more bug show up. My fence keeps asking me if I want to upgrade a POS guild armor I sold ages ago and I can't get to the sell/buy screen to unload my haul. The dark brotherhood quest line is stuck in a loop, the same 3 assassinations who mysteriously come back to life every time I get done with them. The eye texture bug is back, using the latest GFX drivers...

All this doomsaying really isn't going to help getting people spending again. A bit too late for that sentiment I know, but still.

Space Travel
Probes cn travel almost indefinitely under their own momentum if they are programmed to slingshot around the orbits of planets. Now imagine thousands of self contained explorer probe-bots able to traverse the atmosphere of planets. Using any nearby probes to relay data back to earth. We need somewhere really interesting to go before attempting a manned mission.

Or something able to survive the journey and the solar radiation exposure. I'm thinking robots., that's going to be viable before Ion drive engines.

It's not easy shoehorning Jedi lore into actual human behavior.

Demonstrations like this are part of the democratic process, it generally works best if the police are good at handling them, that includes methods used to disperse crowds, respecting civil rights and the freedom of the press etc. Water cannons are a good compromise, they get the job done, are entertaining to watch, so the demonstrators get coverage, and they don't hurt anyone beyond a few bruises.

Piracy
Regional pricing is illegal within the EU and it is sortof cheating. You distort the actual value of your product because you have discovered certain markets where you can get away with charging more. This is what leads to paralel imports in retail, and it's why those high value brands who employ it only sell through 'authorised dealers', basically outlets who agreed to put up with a whole lot of restrictive bollocks because it gives them access to the product.

The Chinese housing crisis isn't a real one. They spent enormous sums building infrastructure and housing so they could show good growth numbers to the central committee. Some of these projects in remote rural areas. So sooner or later it dawns on everybody that the projections are mostly wishful thinking and housing prices drop. This was always going to happen, so it's not a 'new' crisis.
