  1. I'm all star warred out personally. I'll wait for reactions I guess.
  2. If by that you mean 'in order for you to get the point'. I don't care about the point, I was interested in recalling a movie. If you meant that you needed to photoshop in a facepalm to get the point, then by all means. No one's stopping you. Actors, movie trivia. it's one of my many faults and I spend entirely too much effort on it.
  3. That movie where some bank robbers try and cross a mountain pass to make their getaway ?
  4. Why don't we try legalization for say four years and learn from that experience. (This is in a dream world where politicians can make unpopular long term decisions)
  5. Humans are really cheap by comparison, I guess that's why Japan doesn't have a Mecha army yet.
  6. Stop with the name calling. Anyway just because computers have been able to beat the best human chess players for a while now, that doesn't make them intelligent. AIs all lack the social aspect which requires knowledge of human nature and empathy. That requires being human, or perhaps the memory banks of a human being, but since we can't transfer consciousness just yet it's all academic.
  7. Have you seen the one piece curving CRT alienware prototype. Eye-finity go home. That's what I want. Can't find the link though.
  8. The slave collar thing worked in game-play. It could be pretty unnerving running from hot spot to hot spot trying to find and shut off the radio, but they just massively over used it, making it eventually feel more like cheap filler to extend play time.
  9. Well of course. we are building artificial intelligence from the ground up. We wouldn't be doing that if it was autonomously learning.
  10. The actual HD video formats are 1280x720 and 1920x1080, the latter for blu ray, which is the one you want, but probably not found on most laptops. Since it doesn't list the resolution that's probably to hide that it isn't that. Like presenting pre installed trial software that they get paid to put there as value.
  11. Actually most things other than the tank moved at the speed of the horse in WW2 and that was while it was going well for the Germans. Wir haben keine spritz herr genral.
  12. Well you are Euro sceptics for the most part and insist on unilateral action on occasion. Eastern Europe wants land locked allies it can count on against Russia. The old sphere of interest thinking is still very much a reality and Russia has been known to roll out the tanks once in a while, knowing that no one dares get involved.
  13. It's good, but still pretty broken. Combat is very well done.
  14. I hope this game becomes one of those you marathon because you can't help yourself. Not entirely sure it will deliver though.
  15. I kinda doubt that anything like that would have happened without the EU. Peaceful cooperation was one of the driving forces behind its creation though. The idea is quite visionary. The reality a giant bureaucracy.
  16. The first thing you see during startup is the type and model of the motherboard. Press break so it doesn't dissapear in an instant. You might want to peek in the bios as well. No guarantee you will find it there though, and there is a serial number on the board itself but that's a pain to get to. Only go this route if everything else fails. Various thrid party benchmarking programs will also identify the chipset on your motherboard and (maybe) the correct version number.
  17. I remember a recent discussion where we decided that invading Russia, specifically the gas and oil rich regions of the Kaukasus could be a solution. As long as the war didn't last too long, the period of intense mobilisation would help the job maket immesurably. With Gasprom's resources at our disposal the economic recovery would be on the fast track. We should leave in any event if we hadn't reached our objectives by winter. History, bad karma and all that.
  18. I wouldn't mind getting rid of the Syrian leadership, I'm sure neither would the Syrian people. Turkey doesn't have a very strong human rights record though, I'm not sure having them campaign around the middle east is that advisable.
  19. Way to screw up a kid, possibly for god.
  20. I don't know if it's preferable, but it's much better than quiet seething animosity. There are families who have evolved that into an intricate art form.
  21. The experts all say it's a stupid idea. We should subsidize healthy food instead. Right now it's cheaper to get full on junk food. That isn't going to change unless the fat tax gets ludicrously high, and no one wants food prices to get any higher. We are already in the top 5 in Europe in cost of living.
