  1. Reply from 1970 Those above soldiers who wouldn't show their faces haven't haD their legs blown off and weren't drafted. Important distinction. I don't see where the moral outrage comes from when nothing has been done yet. If there is any moral outrage, shouldn't it be because so many people have died and nothing has been done ?
  2. When you join the military you are expected to do what the commander in chief tells you. It's not really a place for surplus political activism or an overactive conscience.
  3. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/09/02/hardware-shipbreakers-is-now-homeworld-shipbreakers/#comment-1339192 I really hope we get to go up in the air 360 RTS rather than building buildings and racing around with little tanks. Engine looks meh, but I still felt an undeniable small gasp of HW awesome. Wasn't this supposed to be web or tablet only. I hope they scapped that idea.
  4. No matter, countries can still intervene in another country if there is human rights abuses without the UN Security Council voting to support it. They won't be breaking international laws, its called the Doctrine of Humanitarian Intervention and I feel its valid in the case of Syria http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humanitarian_intervention It's looks like invasion without declaring of war. Maybe you forget, but WW2 begin from such thing's. The world has kinda moved away from formal declarations of war since WW2. A declaration doesn't quite have the ommph of panzers rolling into Poland, and after all it accomplishes the same thing. Hitler had his bases covered. He burned down his own border posts and scattered corpses in Polish uniforms intending to show them to the world press. No one cared by that point though.
  5. The outside of what. Are you on the inside ?
  6. I definitely prefer muscles that look like they came from hard work as opposed to machines, and of course at some point they start to supplant femininity completely. A lot of people who work out don't know when to stop. Getting bigger becomes an obsession. That particular musculus maximus is pretty amazing though.
  7. I suspect he will always be in giant forearms type movies.
  8. Yes, now I want to hear the song.
  9. There isn't likely to be a consensus on intervention based on the use of WMD. You know seeing as how the US lied about that the last time around.
  10. Sarcasm? The Obama admin hasn't stopped bombing. There's been more drones strikes under Obama than Bush. That's going to continue no matter who wins the next election, unless the country actually wakes up and votes in a 3rd party candidate, but that's not happening anytime soon. Drone strikes are basically assassinations. Air campagins to achieve a political goal are something else and have been a favorite tool for the US over the years.
  11. Just jumping in the middle here to say that I absolutely loathe timed buffs. 3 minuite + to this and that attack/resistance. They are a pain, especially if you are forced to deal with them. Sometimes abilities are structured like timed buffs. This would be a bad thing.
  12. Allan Rickman is more accurately known as Hans Grüber. At least to people who don't have an ounce of interest in children's books.
  13. It had completely passed me by that the US is going to revert to its tried and tested bombing diplomacy. Given what's at stake though I don't see how the Syrian leadership would be able to concede very much.
  14. Theres a dorm in that building block, don't know what faculty but it's super nice compared to the rest.
  15. Yeah, it's going to suck though. Affleck doesn't have a badass gene in his body.
  16. Watching all seasons of Archer.
  17. I used to have Burke from Aliens (Paul Reiser) so I could have this awesome quote that is my sig. Changed the avatar to Kikuchiyo from Seven Samurai (Toshiro Mifune) so now it makes no sense, but it's still awesomer than thou.
  18. Activism is part and parcel of democracy. It's something you are just going to have to put up with. If however a concerted pro GLT (did I get all the correct letters ?) campaign is seen to originate overseas I predict it will fail. People don't like being told what to think by knowitalls from another country.
  19. Master and Commander. I must have watched it 5 times. Wooden warships are awesome. Why aren't there more movies with wooden warships.
  20. I realise that transgender people have the same rights as anyone else. Personally though I think surgery is an extreme step. If I were 'trapped' in this body or the other it seems far more doable to simply adjust to living as a man or a woman whatever the case may be than to undergo surgery and hormone treatments which is still dangerous and may wind up quite a bit off the mark one was aiming for. It seems to me that they are not only people who feel trapped in the wrong gender, but also people who place an extreme emphasis on identification with a particular gender. The grass is always greener on the other side, that kind of thing. This is something that we can adress as a society, making sure that people can live comfortably in their own skin without having to deal with a lot of gender based bias.
  21. Isn't A levels what you need to apply to university. Not everyone does that right off school you know. Life gets in the way and such.
  22. I think that horse is gay. I mean look at it.
  23. Got flashed by a truckload about two months ago. I was so startled I couldn't think of a comeback, and then they had driven off honking the horn screaming like lunatics. Like any good Danish tradition it involves large quantities of alchohol and lots of pent up stress. Goes on for weeks while they hold parties at each classmate's house.
