  1. You call them back not bothering to dial your answering machine. Who uses those anymore. If they want something important they will text you.
  2. Animals. *giggle* Barkeep ? Seems like a good fit.
  3. I'm not sure I see a connection between the prank call and the death. Who would kill themselves over a bunch of waste of space royals.
  4. They were part of Hitler's Atlantic Wall. The fortifications in copenhagen are much older than that. There were plans to remove them but I guess people had gotten used to them, so now they're protected.
  5. The military stepped in and threw out the elected muslim brotherhood president, who by the way was also getting busy displacing if not eliminating his political enemies. Is that about right. Maybe a military crackdown can pave the way for more conventional campaigning. Seems like a lot of people are anxious to exploit a state of unrest. Not saying that's what will happen.
  6. Well, thet would have to sak the police for them back wouldn't they.
  7. Since we are posting wierd guns http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girandoni_Air_Rifle .46 caliber ball.
  8. It's a bit of a stretch calling this obstruction. What exactly are the rules on the police demanding use of your property for a potentially lengthy surveliance.
  9. As long as durability bonuses and penalties are small and there is a large middle state where the weapons are functional so you don't have to worry about condition for a long time I don't care. Fallout 3 and FONW would be a really bad model to follow. Those games were partly about scrounging around for parts to increase survivability. While we are at it you should also be able to break your weapon on a critical miss (very rare) I think that would help move item durability from a nuissance to an accepted representation of what heavy usage of a single weapon would entail.
  10. I'm diggin it. It looks Disneyesque but without all the attendant suckage.
  11. Which is just individual collision detection and mimicking the movements of the flock to gain security in numbers.
  12. They looked like they could leap tall buildings in a single bound. Like night of the living dead remake zombies on PCP.
  13. Is there any explanation for the zombie super powers. Except to increase the sense of urgency.
  14. Evil Dead 2 is Evil Dead 1 made with more money. The remake suffers from a bad lack of Bruce Cambel, but I guess you don't get to reboot your own movie.
  15. There is a long history of rolling back individual rights in response to percieved threats. The problem of course is when or how it ever gets decided that the threat is over.
  16. My theory is that the narative drive of big blockbusters is getting increasingly frantic, they are simply afraid to slow down because they are afraid people will lose interest. They are also written by comittee, making sweeping changes to the final cut following test screenings. The end result usually hinges on those very expensive actors because the story is a mess by then.
  17. Knowing is better than not. Other than that I don't imagine it will change much. It's a relief really, that secret societies of the size and scope of the NSA can't count on the loyalty of everyone they employ. I have noticed this predispotition to focus on wikileaks or the leaker rather than the material before. I don't really understand why leaking is something that fills you with ire. It has been going on for as long as politics, it's very much part of the game.
  18. You poor thing. I'm sure your shapely gay attracting booty must be a real cross to bear.
  19. They'll catch up to you in Blessed Europe soon enough. Actually I was thinking more like Thailand. With all the ladyboys they have become a testing ground for acceptance of sexuality and gender in society as a whole and they appear to have taken the lead in some areas despite having a very conservative establishment. Adoptions for gay couples is still a recurring debate here.
  20. Baby steps, but you guys still lag behind badly
  21. Now this is my kind of nationalism.
  22. It doesn't matter if each of those claims are well documented or not. It is how the article was written and presented. You can just as easily with clever writing make it look like Reagan single-handedly, and without any aid ended the cold war. Or Gorbachev for that matter. So we are going to forego arguments that don't suit our predisposition. Interestingly enough our predisposition is what it was all about in case you missed it.
  23. By the way can anyone tell me why STEAM wants to re install every game on my E: disk about once every week. It downloads nothing but spends 10mins of furious HDD activity 'installing'. It never happens on my C: drive.
