  1. Russia’s expansionist actions in Ukraine pose a real threat for Sweden, and one that could be repeated in the Baltic states, said Peter Hultqvist, chairman of the Parliamentary Defense Committee (PDC). Umm. No, not really. There is no historical claim or contested land that Russia could invade to 'protect' local Russians.
  2. I only hope it's a really nerdy one as opposed to some kind of point and click RTS affair.
  3. What people ?. I haven't noticed anyone denying the far right presence in the interim government.
  4. One thing I've learned about RT from the Ukraine crisis is that it's like the other Fox News. Their attempts at keeping a straight face while always sticking to the script is laughable. Still, Ukrainian nationalists who want to provoke an armed conflict are the obvious suspects.
  5. Nevermind, I downloaded the wrong version.
  6. It was originally a mod for EU, the beta version is the EW-compatible (and expanded featurewise) version - the description isn't updated for the beta. Were you able to get the mod to work with mechs and supersoldiers. If I start a regular game the new features are there, but no meld. If I start an EW game there are no new features. Wasn't sure if the patch rollback was relevant anymore, I mean you NEED that for the new content don't you ?.
  7. Doesn't say if it works with Enemy within. The Exalt missions are kinda annoying, but I would'nt want to do without the mechs and supesoldiers. EDIT : actually it says it doesn't in the first sentence of the description.
  8. I generally avoid people with clipboards and a seeking expression. If it's too late try to look crazy, maybe even a hint of dangerous. My respect for the US military just upticked. Reading the other posts, if it comes down to which is more important - day or month - and you think month, then your deadlines are pretty ****ing slack. Month/Day/Year is insane. Why deliberately confuse people like that.
  9. I wish there was more xcom. I must have played the reboot 4 times now. Only complaint is that it gets both stagnant and too easy in the late stages of the campaign.
  10. I imagine a Russian flag would be just the thing to avoid being beaten to a pulp by balaklava clad gunmen. The city of Balaklava is literally just around the corner, but I was refering to the headgear.
  11. Black Jew Obama...
  12. My memory might be a little rusty, but didn't NATO conduct high risk low altitude runs to try and avoid civilian casualties, seeing as how that would be counter productive to what they were trying to do. I don't support bomber diplomacy on general principle, but those efforts were made.
  13. Okay but do you honesty think people wouldn't buy a major RPG just because there was mandatory but well written Romance? Are people that opposed to the idea of Romance which would only be a small part of the RPG experience anyway? In a word, yes. In more words, it doesn't matter how well a romance is written, it's impossible to make a character that appeals to everyone. A mandatory romance assumes everyone will react the same way to a given character, which is nothing but pure folly. I have quit games outright after being presented by an unpalatable forced decision or characterisation. With foreknowledge I would not have purchased the game at all, but it's hard to discover the nature of said events without spoiling the game. Foreknowledge that romances are mandatory, on the other hand, will be easy, and consign the game to the do-not-play list. P.S. Oh god, imagine ME2 had a forced Miranda romance. That's the worst example I can think of, of a case where the developers completely misanticipated the player reaction to their headline character. It's important that the choices the devs make for you don't feel like annoying editorial interference. Those are the things that can make me quit on a game on general principle as well. Mandatory romance is a terrible idea.
  14. It doesn't actually have tombs, more like tiny caves with a puzzle. The jumping puzzles are so so. In true Ascreed style it ads new gameplay elements and then promplty forgets about them, survival and hunting for instance. You do that for one map, then it's onto something else. All the staged bossfights are annoying trial and error experiences that are too far removed from normal gameplay. It's stuffed full of QTEs, you will barely be able to walk 5 steps without mashing some button or other. Despite all these shortcommings it is well worth a single playthrough if you can get it on sale. The only thing that attracted me to the tomb raider series was the jumping/climbing puzzles combined with exploration. That aspect is mostly gone, but the combat is much better. So yeah, good for a playthrough. It's not overly long so you don't get tired of it.
  15. It's a bit telling that they couldn't get the grammar right.
  16. in japan its illegal to dance in public places after ten pm.
  17. I'm baffled by the fact that it's illegal to cross the street except on the crossings when there is a green light in the US. How do you ever get anywhere in time. In Copenhagen they seem to have solved the problem of illegal peeing by removing suitable bushes and trees. So now all the drunks piss in our doorways.
  18. True enough, but if we insist on playing by the rules and leverage sanctions and diplomacy against those who refuse. It's something I guess. Serbians were guilty of war crimes, but the bombing campaign was leveled against infrastructure and communications. Serbian civilians were affected. Not as bad as putting people in mass graves, but not a good solution either. Western forces should have had the stones to occupy the whole former Ugoslavia and make sure things played out fair. Hindsight being perfect and everything.
  19. Besides, they aren't being asked about independence from Uktaine, that will happen regardless as has already been pointed out. Holding a referendum now with tensions high is also irresponsible. There is no pressing need except for a phony one created by Russia. Remember the fake exodus story. The Russian forgein minister recently stated that the crisis was 'manufactured' by the west. Clearly it is the other way around with Russia creating the situation in which they can snatch Crimea from a country weakened by internal strife.
  20. SVGA to SVideo converter plugged into a 5 pin to USB keyboard converter. I think no.
  21. Doesn't matter if he is wrong as long as he is strong. Me Tarzan, you Jane.
