[v278] Characters not centered in their own circles.
Sarex replied to Hiro Protagonist II's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
Have the same issue, character circles move when panning camera left and right. -
Not that I heard, but I haven't been following the news closely.

I call it like I see it, we shall see.

Ok then, the objective xp system described in that thread is not the same to the quest xp system we have now. Better?
-
Objective xp=/=quest xp.

Did not know that. That is/was very decent of them. Kudos to OE. I agree that they were going to get some unsatisfied backers no matter what they did, but I disagree on the amount of said backers, simply because of how I received their pitch and I was following all their updates. I can only imagine how people who didn't follow the updates will feel. The exact moment I figured out what was going on was when I register on this forum and started reading dev feedback. You and I are obviously not on the same page, but I guess time will tell, the game will release soon and we shall see how it does (hopefully great).

It's like you don't read my post at all. Over 70 thousand people backed PoE, the peak users+viewers on this forum was under 2000, you do the math. It won't matter that OE was right, all that will matter is if people will feel like they got what they think was promised to them on face value in the KS. I was also not aware that you could cancel your KS pledge once the project is funded, that doesn't seem right at all. By the time the backer site was up OE must have went through more then half the money.
-
No it's not, KS is sharing a vision of the game with the people and getting them to fund that vision. They obviously didn't do a good enough job of clarifying that vision, in fact they did nothing to dissuade the people who had gotten the wrong impression. They could have easily gotten ahead of that hype train, but chose not to.

We shall see, won't we.

And the American Reclamation Corporation should get gold teeth and a big ass chain with a spinner on it.
-
I wonder how much that is going to help Obsidian when the angry pledgers start knocking. I'm sure those people will be understanding and even pledge in their next KS.
-
Against Brazil? I think it will be a close game and I doubt they will win against Spain. Anyways I was talking about Serbia vs Brazil.

Cool trailer.

I never understood why he would take such a simple thing and complicate the **** out of it. I mean I know what he was trying to achieve, but I still don't get the need for stamina/health. I could kind of get it when I thought that you would lose stamina and when you ran out of it you would lose health, but this current system where you lose health and stamina at the same time is pretty dumb. I'll play the game tomorrow (after the patch) but I doubt my opinion will change much. From the get go it seemed stupid to me to change it...

As I said before, it doesn't matter if they are technically right, it won't do them any good, they rode the "hype train", when/if it crashes they are going to go with it. They simply didn't do enough to clear the waters and that is squarely on them. Simple fact is they had a slam dunk on their hands, all they had to do was make a copy of the IE games with a new story/setting and improve some minor things that bugged people and maybe add some more features if they had the time. They instead chose to "fix" core systems of the IE game and remove some altogether. They took a gamble and if it doesn't pay off it's sadly all on them.
-
Yeah however it turns out, it's a lesson learned for them. As for Sawyer, it's not really fair to say that. It's not like the people followed the forums and his social networks, they only knew he was lead on IWD2, which continued in the vain of the IE games. I agree with Monte, it was a bad idea to put a man who doesn't like BG in charge of it's spiritual successor. I'm not saying he can't make a good game, but the fact is that he turned a slam dunk for OE in to a huge gamble.
-
I mean I do get that most of the people didn't really go in depth in to the KS pitch and probably just watched the video and read the first paragraph, but this isn't a court room and it won't help them that they were technically right. When/if those people play the game and figure out that this isn't what they payed for, it's going to hurt OE regardless. Well IF the game doesn't deliver on the promise of the spiritual successor at least they will get a lesson out of it, let's just hope it doesn't cost them too much.
-
Damn, glad I didn't watch the game between us and Brazil. Would have lost my ****.
-
I think they are very aware of that and I think that they regret immensely not being clearer during their KS. Then again they wouldn't have made as much of the KS if Josh was upfront about his feelings on BG and what he wanted to change. Time will show if they made a mistake with how they handled the KS.

A different view on the whole XP controversy
Sarex replied to archangel979's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
That is exactly what combat xp proponents want, we even proposed a compromise numerous amount of times as a solution. But yeah it's hard to find those posts when they are drowning in the sh1t that are your posts. It's only the quest xp guys that are all or nothing on this issue. -
Spain vs Brazil not even close, guess they are the leader of the pack in group A.
