  1. I meant any veteran with a brain. Skyrim=Sandbox=Narrative Anyone who played BGs for the nth time just skips the narative, does that mean he is not playing the game?
  2. I didn't say that, I said that the backers will be disappointed with a game that fails to deliver what was promised. Combat xp is just one aspect of that, there are many others too and people are pointing them out. As for calling you a troll, well I have no others words for a person who puts words in my mouth. Discuss what I said, not what you think I meant, because you are failing at that miserably. You got xp for doing a quest in a no lethal way, most of the times even more so then you would for doing it in a lethal way, ie. you were getting xp the game power curve was designed for. So there were no penalties there at all. The problem with you people is that you care too much how other people play the game. As for your last statement, are you saying that you can decide how to play the game for your self and it is determent but what other people tell you to do? I thought you guys wanted to roleplay? What does combat xp have to do with you roleplaying how you want?
  3. I'm afraid you're in a minority here, like the world 0.01% rich population minority.
  4. I still to this day can't fathom how warhamer is failing as a game franchise....
  5. Ah well that is another problem entirely, Josh has an aversion to this forum and responds once in a blue moon, which is strange because he is active on other forums and social media. That critique has also been given, and his answer was that he couldn't access this site from his home computer (believe it or not). That was over a year ago... Though now that I read your post again, I may have misunderstood you.
  6. Possible =/= actual. Critique was given, if there is an explanation that invalidates that critique then ignore it and move on. We can only critique what we see and know. You do realize that the forum is not only for...hmmm let me put this in a nice way...patting the devs on the back and saying good work? Critique is much more useful then, "omg Obz you rock!".
  7. That analogy doesn't work on any level. Also quest=/=game. You can ask any of the IE games veterans on this forum.
  8. And this is how I know that you have read what I wrote in this thread, but nvm I'll say it again. The issue is when you explore and are forced to fight trash mobs you get no character progression. That means that you have been playing the game for hours and have nothing to show for it. Sure there is bestiary xp, but that is only on first kill and even that will probably be miniscule xp when looking at how much you need to level up. It's all about character progression, it should be smooth no matter how you play the game.
  9. Haven't played League of Legends since November, got back in to it a couple of days ago and found out that I'm **** now.
  10. What nice people we are getting on this forum.
  11. 1) I feel that you are a troll, how the **** would you why/if I didn't back the game. Where have I stated either? Stop putting words in my mouth. 2) Good for you 3) How are you penalized? Because you got less xp then the guy who exploited the game? You get exactly the amount of xp the game has been designed for you to get. I speak for myself also, but unlike you I have been in these threads (xp discussion) since the beginning and know what both side have said. How will combat xp stop that?
  12. LoL, this isn't about us getting our way, this is about making the game good and it not failing miserably when it comes out and pissing off everyone who backed expecting a game similar to IE games. If it turns out that we were wrong then good for him and shame on us, but if it turns out bad, well, then at least we said something and we know we did everything we could to make the game better.
  13. Who the **** are you to decide who gets to play the game and how? Also what are we suppose to say to people for whom kill xp disincentives them from doing quests in a non lethal way?
  14. Sarex replied to Sarex's topic in Way Off-Topic
    Yep.
  15. That has been their solution to everything so far in PoE.
  16. Copypasta: "It has to be witnessed and logged by another soldier, generally the sniper's spotter."
  17. Nope, American hero, though many thought he was an outrageous liar.
  18. As a matter of fact I thought it was pretty light on the "hur dur Murica is da best", the focus was more on the life of a solider, I just wasn't that taken in by the movie. Guess it makes a difference when it's your solider.
  19. Meh, it was an ok movie, nothing impressive though.
  20. Dude, are you for real. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/68932-combat-xp-what-just-happened/ There are even more iteration of this topic in the BB forum but this was all I could find with a cursory search. Even the most diehard fans of the quest xp system didn't like it in the bb. I have been part of these discussions since before the beta. Point in case: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/67140-experience-point-system-in-the-beta-and-onwards/ and all the threads before it.
  21. I know some people don't care much for the bottom bar, but the inventory screen is the prettiest for me in all the IE games.
  22. Read carefully what I said: "Ask anyone who played the beta in the beginning, their original version of the xp system was pretty bad." Also read that big post before. Removing combat xp, removed a style of gameplay for us players.
