The Fate of Aloth
Messier-31 replied to Primislas's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Necroed! So it basically is like this: tell Aloth that he should be the new leader of the Leaden Key, because we need false gods and secrets tell Aloth that he should destroy and/or dismantle the Leaden Key, because we don't need false gods and secrets I want a third option! tell Aloth, that you don't give a single copper about gods (be it real or artificial), but become a leader of the Leaden Key anyway, because having such an important figure as my ally would be cool af, so we can totally use this for our own shabby purposes, hyar hyar -
This is the Dwarven Companion Pick-Your-Favourite-Noun-and-or-Verb Front. We interrupt this hiatus because Larian Studios posted on their facebook page a neat picture of a cool sailory/piratey dwarf companion. The fact that this character kinda fits the Deadfire setting is most saddening. Take a look how things will be looking in Original Sin 2: https://www.facebook.com/LarianStudios/posts/1467514186642108:0 EDIT: For those of you having FB issues: http://imgur.com/dqM7F1L In other news, there are no news, because of the recent lack of thematic-ish updates.

Fig update #33 https://www.fig.co/campaigns/deadfire?update=375#updates So, June 18th everyone. -
The issue with the Endless Paths is the Kickstarter campaign. They wanted to make this megadungeon based on the amount of backers, so it went on and on and on. Yeah, it was a success, but the entire place was invented before any lore/story was put there to glue it all together. There was a moment where Josh asked the concept artist about his drawing of the statue head emerging in one of the upper levels. The answer was "I don't know, but it looks cool". I think 99% of the Endless Paths of Od Nua was one big "I don't know" and the story came really late in the development process, thus it may be odd at times (odd, get it? hyar hyar). OK. This is how I (don't) get it: Od Nua was some huge figure in the Engwithan society, some called him even a king Od Nua lost his son, but no-one knows how it exactly happened ????? Trivia: the son's name is Maros - source: https://twitter.com/jesawyer/status/771475774226305024 Because of his indescribable grief Od Nua dug deep under the keep and made a huge statue depicting his son, thus trying to quench this grief by commiting to work While at it, he was hoping to somehow get his son back to him by means of pushing the Engwithan animancy even further (thus so much adra all over the place) Because of his brutal extensive research some of his 'employees' rebelled - some remained loyal The souls of his lackeys were used to create animats The doors on level 13 were sealed becasue either Od Nua was protecting himself or the rebels wanted to trap him ????? During the battle Od Nua somehow cast himself into the adra ?????, probably to avoid being ripped apart by the angry mob Survivors were somehow ????? made into fampyrs Adra-eating beetles came out of nowhere because reasons ????? The Master Below was a little wyrm that was fed with adra since always, thus it became the adra dragon - it couldn't leave the depths because it was so big and heavy - but it's influence over Caed Nua was of great magnitude because y'know dragon Close enough? Amirite? Please, help fill in the question mark blanks?

Help. I just had the weirdest thought... A huge fleet of thousands of ships vs a huge god of light - titanic ocean battle. What is this, Alliance fighting a Reaper in Mass Effect? And then when all hope seems lost, 5 watchers from all over Eora gather together: it's morphin' time! A huge Magran/Ondra zord counterattacks Eothas in a spectacular duel. Then the player takes control over the zord and fights it Mortal Kombat style, with a possible fatality at the end. ...it's on...

I made this attempt a couple of months ago according to the various sources: https://forums.obsidian.net/uploads/monthly_02_2017/post-52304-0-45324700-1486033731.png Only problem with the Living Lands being at the pole is that it's described as having both deserts and jungles (next to each other even, which isn't implausible because rainshadow deserts). The way it's described, the Living Lands sound like Papua-New Guniea dialed up to 11 with fjords and etc. According to Josh the Living Lands are like huge Iceland. https://jesawyer.tumblr.com/post/158161818391/hello-sir-a-question-regarding-a-certain-part-of

Well, thanks anyway for your participation in this discussion, mate - I sure learned a bit about all this. I asked the same question on Beamdog forums the other day and got no response whatsoever. There must be something up, though, as Polish VO for both BG1 and BG2 is fine quality. Cheers to You

Yeah, sorry about that double-post. Static/overly-edged sound? I guess that's how you call it. I use Genius 2.0 SP-HF500A wood speakers at the moment. Tried to compare the sounds with an old and nameless headset from long forgotten past (Logitech, I think), and BG1 and BG2 voices sound more comparable to eachother through it - that means a slight quality loss for BG1 for me w/ headset. The BG2 voice is still a little bit worse, but not that much of a difference.
