Dear Awesome Fluffle, Thank you for this encouregement. Consider this my counterpoint: Call it an aesthetic reason No. 1, because I have this unexplainable bad feeling when I see so many badges cooped up next to each other. Some of you have six already, wow! Apparently pledging through Kickstarter and Fig was meant to give additional ones for some reason. Call it an aesthetic reason No. 2, because I find the BIB badge to be "meh". It's pretty dark and I still get an illusion of BLB, because of that dot so close to the letter "I". So you might say I don't like the design so much. I don't feel the need to be perceived as a member of the BIB crew just by looking at my account. I am happy to be a part of the crew either way. I know it, you know it, I already feel good about myself. Talking about being perceived as a member: What about the people who have the badge, but didn't contribute to the pirate crew? I'm not sure if there are such people, but it is very possible, because these two things (badge, crew) are not explicitly connected to each other. Reason known as "8 bucks for some pixelz?". It's true, even if it's not that much. I probably could do it before the slackertime ends BUT then I think about all of the above... Don't get me wrong. You did an excellent job with this badge/crew thing. You remember at the start of the BIB campaign when we were thinking is it worth the trouble, is this a flash in the pan? Well, it worked. Not only we delivered the crew but an item - who would've thought? 5.750 dollars an then some! As for me, I just want the crew/item more than the badge. Tell you what, I'll give it some time to digest but the scales can be pretty easy to outweight in this case.

Not even half as good as you, mate. Let's say I pay more attention to the lore than to mechanics. Most of these builds and micromanagement are like magic to me, because the older I get, less time I have for playing, so less time to get used to all the details. I sometimes even play in Story Time mode because of this, for crying out loud As I said, I was knocking on the wrong door, looking for the weapon+shield talent in the offensive pool while it was defensive all along. Call it me being scatterbrained. BUT reading you guys here sometimes really can make a difference, I already plan on respecing a character or two

Tactics
Messier-31 replied to ilhdr's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Tactics? Agreed. Maybe right-clicking on that ability makes it toggle the autocast for fights. -
@Ninja, I think we're really far from having no sense. I never felt it that way in my playthroughs, until it was brought up here, on the forums. Obsidians approach lorewise has sense in the world they created, because of this whole soul reasons (apparently). As long as there is a diversity between characters with different stats this is not a big issue to me, or a issue at all. EDIT @Pizza, I think you confuse health with endurance - you can't magically restore health, only endurance. Thus no healing magic.

Thing about the undead. Pillars lore states clearly a scientific explenation for the undead. Basically it all started with Pandgram, the animancer who was experimenting with capturing souls and binding them to the dead corpses. And what is even more interesting, all these types of undead (fampyr, dargul, gul, revenant, skeleton) are just the next stages of body decomposition. Every next stage is delayed by feeding, so basically every undead you encounter once was at a higher stage of being undead. It actually is the same creature it once was before. Fampyr (vampire vibes here) is the most recently undead, and the most consious. It's not your typical vampire though, as there is no fear of light and they clearly can't change into a bat or some other spooky misty object. Because he will eventually become a gul, or even a skeleton, this leaves us with a small undead pool of creatures in the setting. I would love to see more, like a lich or a zombie, but I think this is already somewhat covered by the abovementioned scientific explanation. There actually might be no room for more undead in Pillars.

Well, orcs and goblins are also well established fantasy norms, and yet you don't have them in PoE (which is a shame if you ask me). In fact, how about a subjective list of well established fantasy cliche norms not present in PoE? classes relying on a single attribute (e.g. INT for wizards) vancian casting traps and lockpicking only for rogues halflings orcs and golbins demons (and other entities from hell) eternal animosity between dwarves and elves dwarves can't be druids or wizards healing magic different pantheon for different races/cultures portals leading to distant places etc. As I said before - don't expect every system has to duplicate one another. You want to drink one type of coke forever? Try tea sometimes.

This pretty much sums it up. In DnD, when you look at the stat spread of a character you can imagine what they are like. In Pillars, when you look at the stat spread you can see micro modifiers to other stats. D&D: You're a wizard 'Arry, so you *must* have high INT, or else you will suck bigtime. PoE: You're a wizard 'Arry, so you *may* have high INT, but don't be so hard on yourself. Don't get me wrong, I just think not every system has to duplicate one another. Frankly, I respect them both.

I was thinking the same thing recently. There are no fiend / demon / devil entities in the game world (for now). I wonder will the devs pick that up sooner or later. Eora is not Forgotten Realms, where you can easily open a portal to other planes of existence, but still this is an interesting issue. Same here. It's not a grand tale or anything, but one of my favourite moments in the Twin Elms was meeting Sîdha and Rîhenwn. I'm sure that there might be some of this you want IF we reach the $4.75 slacker backer stretchgoal (seamonsters and fishing).

Just a remidner: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/92192-tyranny-33-and-50-off-coupon-giveaway-thread/ In the abovementioned thread there are a lot of people giving/taking the coupons. The thread is in the Obsidian Community general forum "Computer and Console", so there might be a bigger audience for these coupons, as only a fraction of all users read the Deadfire forums. Cheers.

Howyadoin? So creatures, right? The image you can see below comes for the PoE wiki (http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Creature) and is up to date, which by the way is 2017-04-18 as of today (CEST). Eoten and Imps First of all I wanted to ask you, did anyone ever encountered an eoten or an imp? Eoten are generally two headed ogres, and imps are probably generic imps. I sure don't remember any of these two guys. Was there at least some of these two mentioned in a book or whatever? What is the source for this information? "Eotens feature in the most grotesque of folk tales. Once merely the most aggressive and unstable of ogres, Eotens have since developed into massive monstrosities that are both larger and far less intelligent than their cousins. Eotens have two heads, one notable smaller than the other, and when the larger of these is incapacitated, the smaller retains just enough brute cunning to keep an Eoten fighting." Naga As we know the naga will be a part of the Deadfire creature table. Some think that they are a yuan-ti ripoff from Dungeons & Dragons, but this is actually the other way round. Some probably even remember nagas from the Warcraft franchise, they were kinda huge back in the day. I sure am very happy to see these snakefolk present! Are there any other specific creatures you would like to see? Because I am kinda sorry for them orcs and goblins (greenskin). Yes, I know they are overused material blah blah, but I think that the Eora setting would be much better if there was a race of some wilder creatures somewhere in between xaurips and ogres in the pool. Laguefath are fun, but I think PoE lacks a race of some brutish warrior race wreaking havoc in the country and in the minds of folk. What do you think? Here, have some sweet sailory music as a token of appreciation

Factions comparison
Messier-31 replied to Nail's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Wow, this actually figures. I disliked Kana, so I'm thinking about other factions. The way I see it Achilles will be friends will Maia Rua and/or blue-guy Tekehu, while Pallegina and/or Serafen might get pissed at you at some point. And there'll be opposite companion reactions in my case.
