  1. Ok, so I voted against and I'm 100% sure about it, but that one would make me change my mind instantly
  2. Seen that at least twice so no worries, it's not your fault Now go sleep, nothing more to do until they figure it out. <maybe then I'll be able to log in muahahahahah... erm? what? did I said it out loud?>
  3. Nothing, I would prefer saving additional ideas for expansion pack or <ugh!> DLC and focusing, or in case of "spare money scenario" even adding to already existing/achieved SG.
  4. After initial success with singing in about hour ago I've got stuck at "manage my pledge" tab and now can't even log in, so I'd say it's a traffic spike... But that's nothing but a wild guess. Sounds like the same problem those folks have: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/64738-cant-log-in-to-pillars-of-eternity-site/ We'll have to wait, and forget about sleep
  5. I wasn't notified about this update and up until now was completely oblivious about it oO Already whined about state of my finances so to keep it short: I'm loving it! All of it! Animations, music, environments etc.Well... maybe except for that magic explosion from 1:03. But to make it perfectly clear it's only one minor -tiny even- complaint fading in the ocean of awe! Now go back and check what a grouchy smurf I was most of this time and know* about that change into a frenzied fanboy Right. Now, excuse me while I go back to refreshing backer site in attempt to upgrade my tier. * - like Dak'kon level "know"
  6. Ugh... An error occurred processing your order. Please try again later. If the problem persists, please contact us. But I don't want to try again later or contact You... <huffing and stomping> I wan't to give you more money NOW! oh wait... right... I've quit my job two weeks ago... and my PC burned last Saturday... ... God damn it! <pure boiling anger> Aaa to hell with being reasonable and responsible, and screw those stupid, good for nothing savings! <refreshes order page and tries again>
  7. Pillars of Eternity huh? Like it and hope for a random encounter named likewise with a giant octopus sitting right in the middle of it. Oh and having a tea with a Bridge Keeper for an overkill ... Oh Tony... Who's gonna be a Kresselack of PE without You. damn my sidetracking
  8. Very well said. This enigmatic flavoured "information blackout" left me quite hyped. And that may pretty much lead to me having feverish, unreasonable expectations. And frankly they can't be met, because my imagination is running amok with a blatant disregard to the scope of "things possible in autumn 2013" Oh well, maybe it won't hurt that much this time
  9. Now I get it... you're an elitist and if people are indeed morons, it's not because they are writing about their concerns or hopes in regards of this or other update, but because they are trying to discuss it with you. And though I understand it's pointless and by going offtopic I am making even worse fool of myself I just can't stop laughing about that "backers" part... Where did you get that one? Seriously, I'm far from making wild assumptions or boasting about things like how early or how much I've donated for Obsidian to make PE reality, but let me tell you, that despite the fact I've recently lost my job and despite having this bad feeling about stronghold or few other things not worth mentioning here, I am still eager to send them another cash equivalent of my 40 man-hour. Plus I don't believe in coincidences, so I wouldn't be surprised if you just bashed another backer (namely Igorina, who joined in the 4th day of KS campaing). Still the best part is that it's Them, the Devs, who must endure our constant misled ideas, already answered questions, unjustified anxiety or angry-crown like attitude. It's Obsidian who must endure it all (and much more) of that, and deliver the game (no matter if with, or without some additional content) because their good name depends on it. I fail to see you in the "had to endure" picture, if only because you can go bat**** crazy in your despise of others (more or less invalid) opinions and the only thing that will happen is a possible warn or something likely irrelevant in comparison to the Obsidian's burden. But you were right with one thing. I'm off, at least until another such thought provoking and imagination capturing update. I'm sorry if anyone grew tired or gutted because of my outburst / rant.
  10. Surprisingly I care for myself which is the main reason I've decided to write whole 6 posts in this thread, which then is 1/5 of everything I wrote on this forum so yeah, I care. In comparison you've made 7 post here, with 6 directly addressing our issues... should I say that shows how much you don't care? Or maybe I shouldn't? What would I gain by participating in that ridiculous haggle? I did it, because Baldurs Gate 2 was the last instance I liked a stronghold execution, and even then only 2 maybe 3. Don't get me wrong, I'm really not surprised or offended that you don't care (I'm merely amused) because I never counted on it. All that time I was aiming somewhere else, as I strongly believe that things I hope for are in the scope of Mr Cain's imagination. And I believe that because I grew up on Fallout 1 & 2 (and later Arcanum) which gave me ****loads of consequences not only for my actions, but even for my occasional idleness. So call me spoiled brat but I believe He's the one to blame Of course alongside other fine folks that contributed to those pinnacles of western rpgs Cheers edit: those damn typos
  11. I would like to add, that in my not so humble opinion, Stronghold is no ordinary sidequest, because I cannot recall even a single "optional adventure" in any game I've played, with so varied and generous reward. Quite the opposite, and perhaps that's why so many of us see that as a grave injustice I'm afraid that neither stronghold or mega dungeon are or should be considered being your typical sidequest, especially if we'll believe that additional funds were needed to implement specifically them in the game. Yeah, we could argue if that was just a marketing, but I do not like the implications so.. You know, I'll pass. I believe it's quite possible, that despite Obsidian's best effort, both sides (those who do the Stronghold, and those who do not) will sooner or later end up with enough "gold" to buy whatever they want. And that "when" factor is hardly an advantage, not to mention reward, especially considering our (gamers) ingenuity to exploit games mechanics.
  12. So i went back to read Tim's description once again and cant say I see it the same way you do. I don't mean that your envisionment is wrong, but as far as I can tell, we simply don't know enough about Stronghold "backstory" to make valid assumptions. And that lead us to the current state of "wild speculations" I'll admit that I'm not sure how would I feel about pre-introduction Stronghold, being your out of the mill dungeon, that you are going to clear out or just did and learned it's a reward in itself. Surely that would tie all loose ends, and explain why it lacks any impact on the further exploits of my merry band of misfits or on the gameworld/story line in general. After all what the eye doesn't see, the heart doesn't grieve over right? I'm afraid it would make me feel uneasy about something missing from the general picture. Something only I would be to blame, because I did it to myself by (for example) taking part in KS campaign and reading thoroughly most of the updates. Still I can imagine, that for someone fresh to the PE it could be great to discover in his assumed second playthrough, that a specific pile of rocks he didn't care about before, could be transformed into additional, joy inducing content (or a chore, depending on ones taste). So my question is, what if it is not an abandoned ruin on the verge of civilization, hanging in a limbo, waiting for me to happen? What if there are people already living there, in poverty (or not, I'm just trying to add some drama ), relying solely on a premise of brass-balled hero who will relieve it's incompetent predecessor from his governing duties? That's where I'll be pretty disappointed to hear from the game that "not interested? ok, nothing happened, move along." Additionally while I was struggling to sound coherent, Fluffle just casually walked in and nailed my concerns whith de'Arnise keep example, so there you have it... or... something
  13. I am accustomed with and in fact like the idea of exclusive content. On the other hand I came to think, that what is and what isn't optional content is less of a definition or developer's decision and more of a one's way of playing the game. For example I'm a completionist, maybe even an extreme one, and that makes most of the content that others call "optional" a must have for me. Watcher's Keep example is great here, as personally I can not imagine playing BG2 without completing it and feel like the only option I have there is how am I going to deal with a demogorgon. Don't get me wrong - I understand that it's only my "fault" and a developer can't do much about it. So, yes, I agree that technically "optional" is everything that's outside of core story line and which we do not have to do at all, to see credits rolling. Therefore, recognizing my own flawed (not in my opinion, but I feel like some would call it that way) way of playing I won't ask for making it even for those, who do not want to play Stronghold "sidequest" but still would like to keep all the bonuses it provides. What I would like to see, is a game world recognizing my decision. Sure, we don't know in what circumstances one's going to acquire the stronghold, but for the sake of example let's imagine it was made public. I can imagine someone powerful/wealthy enough to "give" it to me, being quite unhappy by my "don't care" attitude or maybe even straightforward refusal (many in game possibilities here)? On the other hand, this imaginary benefactor's enemies could feel quite opposite about my inappropriate behavior thus providing player possibility to gain additional side quest, random encounter, sudden shift in opposing faction's opinion about me... Heck, it wold be awesome to see the fortress I reluctantly agreed to "take" but never actually attended to, to be burned and ransacked (I've mentioned it before in this thread) and/or settled by someone else (namely bandits, homeless, someone who meanwhile got in favor of aforementioned benefactor etc). Not to mention few dialog lines recognizing how stupid (or not) it was to miss "an occasion like that" thrown in by a follower or NPC here and there. In short - make it somehow meaningful and I won't mind missing the additional content Otherwise it will feel like I am doing something I shouldn't. And I agree with Jarmo - butler or bailiff* would be a fine and quite fitting addition to the Stronghold. I can easily imagine landlords who never very much attended to the matters of their demesne* because he paid others to do it, being busy hunting, crusading, court-plotting and so on. Heck, you could even make him a meaningful character (butler that is) like Stevens from "The Remains of the Day". * - I totally googled those two words, so I hope they mean what I hope they do
  14. I agree and can't explain why I haven't tackled it myself (my bad), but still believe it's just one of the many sides of multifaceted reality dice. Still, because I know **** about economy I will not try to persuade you otherwise. Anyhow, I'd like to address hydrogyrum post. I would to, like to see the Stronghold in ruins, it's inhabitants killed (or captured) and as a direct result the reputation of PC shattered. But no "game-over, world ended, must reload" plox -"Fear not! _I_ came to the rescue!" -"Is that a joke?! Where are the REAL reinforcements?! You know even we heard about your splendid work while defending the god damn fortress, do you? So please take a second look at that rotten palisade and give me some kind of reason to believe you'll fare better this time, facing **** legion of Orlan savages!" ...yeah, I'm no writer
  15. Your first post and you've nailed it! Nonetheless those are valid concerns and even if Tim's goal is different, the overall stronghold vibe is in fact kinda one (or rather two: prestige and security) dimensional. Before I proceed though, there is a thing I have to admit: I do not care much about a stronghold, most probably because I didn't like the execution of the idea in NW2 and DA:O Awakening. Sorry. So, I have a lot of doubts about it and though I don't wish to repeat what others already told (or are doing it while I waste my time trying to sound legible) let me point three most important problems (for me that is): taxes, imprisonment and just how much obligatory all that stronghold business will be. First of all taxes - the general idea of "the better you do, more money you get" is... flat. This may be an issue of mine, but from what I can see it works in the exactly opposite way. The worse it gets (in terms of economy, safety, overall country efficiency) the more taxes one have to pay. But I get it, it may be very subjective, background driven point of view. So if you decide to keep that idealistic execution of tax collecting I promise not to go mental Secondly we have this imprisonment, and boy how many questions it rises. For example, how exactly does it work in legal terms of the game world. Surely you guys understand that imprisoning NPC is a very different thing than just killing him in (presumably) self defense. To keep it short let me use an example here: do you imagine holding Isaea Roenall back in BG2? That would mean far-reaching repercussions, and I do not only think about his family (wealthy, corrupted nobles). What about Athkatla law enforcement? What about whole bloody Amn whose law one would decide to disobey just by keeping that leech Isaea to toy with in a dungeon (wait... that sounds wrong). ...and just as I wrote this, I realized there probably IS a way out! Simply, use dungeons and imprisonment as a sophisticated way to turn "bad guys" over to authorities. That way you'll keep your "jailbreak, gain leverage, learn new things from them cookie" and explain to us "how the hell is it even working". It may even stretch the jailbreak idea because said authorities may set your prisoner free (for so many reasons). Last thing is something you just can't help, because no matter how optional or not the Stronghold will be, some people (could be me included) just won't be happy. If you'll keep it low profile, they'll still play it through, because an urge to do everything possible (sidequests? loot? werewolf head hanging over fireplace? I need them!) even if they do not care about having a castle in the first place. On the other hand, badly executed it will turn into chore even if you'll make obligatory, inherent part of the story and game world. So... scratch that one! Can't keep 'em all bloody bastards happy Sorry if that sounds like a whining or nit picking, but as mentioned before, in past I've been disappointed by player's owned instance twice (not counting Bethesda's "housing" ideas) and I really hope you'll make me want to run ashamed after my first playthrough Still, all considered I must admit it makes me wonder will You pull it out, as having an interesting, meaningful and impact leaving Stronghold in your game creates demand for a lot of more or less foreseeable writing and scripting. Probably far more than I even imagine. I'll keep my fingers crossed
  16. Soulless child that gets possessed and twisted into living nightmare...? That's... that's disturbing. And HELL I love that uncomfortable feeling it evokes. It makes me even more stunned, when I imagine miserable and creepy battle taunts (like those hybrids' screams back in System Shock 2) coming from those poor little bastards. God damn, it's been a while since a game allowed me to kill an obvious underage, so even if there's going to be some non violent way for redeeming those... things(?) I still hope for a straightforward, callous solution. The exact one I'll never allow myself to pick up, without an immediate reload of the last quicksave afterwards Yup, can't do. Heck, if they'll end up as some kind of unusual and non violent NPCs (thou they definitely do not look like they will) I'll be still pleased, if only because of the unease. Wow... you guys and gals are still able to surprise me. Awesome. PS Sorry, rest of the update was interesting sure, but that one part... Because of my imagination - that's a winner.
  17. Yeah... umm... <sigh> I hate to do this, but you've asked us, so here I go: You've stayed very true to the concept art, and that I love. Still, in my probably not so humble opinion, the final in-game render is somehow lacking in the shadows department. It seems all tad to bright, and that takes a bit of mystery from that particular scene. Plus this, pretty much: ...yeah, they stick out. sorry
  18. That hermit named Portalbendarwinden, living in the wilderness outside of Nashkel. I'm amazed nobody mentioned him already. Maybe it's because 4th wall breaking joke? Oh well - more fun for me :D I suppose he wouldn't be so memorable, if not for that particular rant of your PC, in reaction for his gibberish prophecy / advice. Still, back in a day, it made me laugh so much, that I've decided to take a screenshot of our conversation and then copied it to floppy disk, because I wanted to share it with all 3 BG-playing friends of mine. And I find it amusing to this day. True story Chicken turned mage apprentice Melicamp. His short story had both humor (as always in dialogues) and drama - at least before I've learned that he can be saved and all I needed to do, was to keep reloading the quicksave. That randomness of his survival in the curse removal process, was quite refreshing and different from most of the game.
  19. In my opinion, already proposed (by Decado) tiding of "highlight feature" with a skill, trait or stat of given character is the best solution possible as long as it's optional, and can be turned off by purists and pixel hunters (not one of them). I also have encountered more than few situations, when I - not a character I played - didn't notice some kind of lever, chest, or other "obvious" interactive object and was forced to seek solution outside the game (internet, and in long forgotten time: video game magazines). Most probably because I use only one eye (it's not that I'm partially blind, it's my brain that learned to ignore signals from my right eye, because it's was much weaker than left since I was 3 Y.O.). To make things even worse, I hate to maximize gamma settings, because in my opinion it takes away all the atmosphere from environments, where things should be hidden in shadows and harder to spot (but again, not harder for me, but for the character I play). Besides when I want to test my own perceptiveness I play Puzzle Quest or Thief not a cRPG I also think there should be a connection between PC/party field of view and the fog of war. I'm not aiming here for view cones*, because that would mean additional funds and time spending, plus could easily turn this whole idea to a nuisance. What I propose is simple 360 degree area around every character (it's easy to imagine they are turning their heads right?), with varying range and success rates based upon character class and their perception (or whatsoever), because having eyes open is the least thing I would expect from most of my party members (definitely rouges and rangers, but maybe not those rainbow chasing priests and short sighted wizards). All this, because highlighting a jewel case, that's on the other end of map is IMO kinda lame... Quite obviously searching for traps and secrets is a completely different case, because it demands focus. Therefore it should be separated from that passive "hey guys! there's a hollow tree over there!" success rate check, even if it's based on the same perceptiveness and character class mechanism. Also it should have additional active skill, that would be paused in some cases, because I can't imagine a thorough inspection of given place at the time of skirmish or even a simple run. BUT I would like it to be go back automatically on, once that skirmish is over, if I was examining that area before things happened. I really don't appreciate busy work, and that was the case in BG, when every time my PC or a follower opened door, killed a kobold, started conversation with NPC etc I had to make him vigilant again, because whatever happened, it distracted him so much, he somehow forgot that we are in trap riddled dungeon and only seconds ago he was busy checking that suspicious floor plate for some nasty surprise! God damn it, if I'll want him to stop, I'll tell him right? (in this case I'll deactivate it). Shouldn't that be obvious? I understand that this kind of solution somehow forces player, to either create highly perceptive character, or to have at least one rouge-like class follower in his party asap. Still if world construction will allow backtracking to starting areas, that shouldn't be much of a problem, especially if those areas would provide additional low to high level quest(s) that could not have been solved at the beginning of game (giving the reason to come back and find things that we didn't noticed before). One more thing came to my mind while I was typing all this, and I feel that somehow relevant to the "objects highlighting" issue: mathematical or logical puzzles. Sometimes even riddles. I'll be honest - I hate math, and it always irritates me, when I get stuck on one of those "minigames" while I'm playing this genius I've created to compensate for my dumbness. Why? Seriously why? What is the point, to remind me, that I'm not a great scholar, brilliant hacker or a witty rouge I've spent hours to create and polish, but a simpleton who can't figure out some trivial arithmetic progression. Sure, I always try to solve them myself, but it never gives me any sens of "accomplishment", feels like a busy work, or time-filler, and in case I'll get stuck it forces me to (again) call uncle google for help. Screw my ego - searching answer all over internet breaks the flow of the game. If I remember correctly, games like Fallout and Arcanum didn't have those - they were basing thoroughly on my PC stats and skills (sometimes inventory), so every time I've encountered an obstacle of some sort it was more a test for my characters build than my impaired IQ. Sure, you need at least some brain, to apply even basic tactics but that's not the case here. That's why I beg you Obsidian - if you wish to put puzzles or some kind of math-based minigames in PE, then let there be at least an option, where I'll be able to choose something like "let's see how our well-red wizard handle this". Seriously. I'm sorry for sidetracking here and there, but it was something I liked to talk about from some time already, and I couldn't find appropriate thread until now * - even if there would be something similar implemented in PE, it would be overkill to utilize it for triviality like interactive objects highlighting
  20. I'm not a big fan of translations, as games are one of very few possibilities to keep my English alive and kicking. But there is more to it, and I going to elaborate. Frankly most translations in games I've seen (or heard in case of dubbing) were inferior to original material. Having said that, I must admit that dual language translations are the best option possible, but only if I'm allowed to choose, because there are titles that force me to read Polish subtitles while listening English actors and that, I do not find appealing. But let me get back to my carping I'm a demanding customer, and today's condition of Polish game dubbing / translation industry gives me much to complain. The golden age of Polish game localization that silentsnake is referring to is long gone. Sure back then we were not afraid to hire some great actors, talented theatrical and major movie stars, often oldtimers with actual degrees in professional acting education (of which at least 4 already died in case of aforementioned BG2). Those people were more than able to mesmerize us even in the most stupid plots, or poorly written dialogues. The unquestioned king of that age was CD Project (yup, same company that gave birth to CD Project Red) whose localization were of no match for competitors - after all it was them, who published every Infinity Engine title in Poland. Unfortunately those days faded away (not only because of money) and today we have a plague of celebrities and starlets whose acting skills are so poor that I feel completely discouraged from buying given game and therefore paying them, bloody amateurs, for a lazy job they did. Let mu use DA:O as an example here. I've got my copy from UK, because I simply couldn't stand what they did to Alistair (very uneven acting of professional actor Jacek Kopczynski) and Morrigan (she was literally butchered in comparison to superb performance of Claudia Black). Not to mention other characters like Arl Rendon Howe (Tim "irreplaceable" Curry) or Teyrn Loghain (Simon Templeman, whos voice is pure definition of... epicness, I don't know :D but I'm in awe every time he speaks). Sure we get few good enough actors like aforementioned Kopczynski or Jacek "Witcher" Rozenek, but unfortunately most of them are overused to the point it breaks my immersion when I hear them for umpteenth time, in a row (i.e. Kopczynski case). Worth mentioning is Piotr Fronczewski (that voice! same league as Templeman) whose occasional appearance, is kind of consolation prize for anyone who's fed up with quality of Polish localizations - just check those links if You don't believe me: "You must gather your party before venturing forth" and here prologue to Act I from BG2. Unfortunately, one great voice can't solve problems of the whole industry. Therefore I won't go for "Polish is most important" even though I understand, what impact the lack of localized version could have on sales of PE here in Poland. Sure, because of restrictions of fun funding PE won't probably have any of those great AAA actors, but that doesn't change my mind upon the matter of translations. And now I'll wait for that ridiculous wave of "how dare you!? you are not a patriot! are you ashamed of being Pole commie?! gtfo, nobody asked you!" PMs that I always get, after I publicly state that I'm (at least atm) against Polish translations because they suck, and are not worth my money PS Here's a special treat for those, who read my rant thoroughly, here's appearance comparison between Jan Jansen and Jan Kobuszewski who gave him voice in Polish version. Turnip FTW!
  21. Today's huge update from InXile proves to me, that Wasteland 2 (despite lack of often updates, that for some seems crucial for evaluation whether or not a specific project development is well) is one of the best if not THE best managed KS game I've backed, and the info it provides is nothing short of great and reassuring. My favorite part would be that, which covers random encounters. I can honestly say, that I didn't expected such complexity and "awareness of player's decision/builds" from this game. Right now I'm even more hyped than I was back then, at the time of KS campaign. As for current state of PE, for me it seems very well managed, keeping me sound about it's development and shape of the end product, though I find it kinda weird, that it's the fan base, not Obsidian itself, that provides me with additional information like various interviews or "reveal" events that keeps happening almost monthly. Couldn't we get at least some major ones from official channels? But aside from that I, as few before me, must mention 2 issues I have with PE in overall. Most importantly: backer site. Sure I understand every single argument explaining why we should keep our expectations low here (not promised in the ks campaign, one man project* etc and so on). But I'm a man that takes promises very seriously, and it's almost 4 months since I (and I assume few others) got answer from Obsidian saying "our backer portal should be going live in the next few weeks" (yes I can read, and I understand what "should" means). After checking calendar I can tell you, that in these particular case few weeks equals 23. Even not mentioning updates that promised basically same thing, it makes one such as me slightly uneasy. But that fades in comparison of information blackout about backer site issue from Obsidian side, which is the second aforementioned "problem" I have with PE development (and we can argue if this falls into category all day). I would like to point out, that (obviously) lack of information leads to imagination of those uniformed going wild. For example I was let to believe (aforementioned email) that "backer site" will allow me to upgrade up to collectors edition, which I was unable to secure, back in a day. But with the passing weeks I'm more and more worried that I won't get this chance and from here I would like to point out to those, who are not concerned about the matter, that (at least in my case) "backer site" is a crucial way for blue collars, to secure their dream(s) and in the process grant additional funds for development of given title. Sure, one can say that we have banks for that, so my point is invalid, but given the choice, I would gladly avoid taking the loan and as an example InXile gave me that opportunity. Plus on a side note: according to Brian Fargo their "back catalog sale" is one of the three prime reasons continuous development of W2 is secured so I really can't see why Obsidian seems so hesitant about reaping the benefits. Don't get me wrong, I'm far from whining or spitting hate. Far from that, and if my worries turns out to be justified, I'll handle it without going mental, because I'm a quite reasonable guy, even if it sounds different from what I've just wrote I'm just tad impatient and slowly but steadily more and more worried, that there is more to the "problem of backer site" than meets the eye and that some promises were nothing more, than vague marketing I should be aware off (remember that thread about dropping stretch goals after Double Fine problems came up?). * - Larian made one man responsible for creating pledge management, and he did it in a month despite having other responsibilities, so... PS I can't find who said that, but I totally agree with opinion he / her posted in this forum, that Obsidian well... failed... however harsh it sounds, when they didn't used the hype and interest spike caused by update #49 to launch backer site. Benefits were there, within reach. Hopefully they will come up with something just as jaw dropping again and this time, with some fulfillment / tier upgrade system up and running. I'll keep my fingers crossed
  22. Ok, here comes another one I've came up, after the thorough look of my "gamebrary". Doctor Marc Miller, head of hydroponics on the Von Braum (System Shock 2 for those who don't remember) who -for me at least- turned out to be far more memorable than Melanie Bronson, chief of security. And just let me tell you, that Bronson seems to be one of the most memorable side characters for quite a few people I've discussed about SS2. But lets go back to good 'ol doc Miller. My "sentiment" for him may have a lot with the disgust of mine for characters hurting (or preying upon) women and/or mother figures. Still, I can't explain with my broken English how much terrified or should I say terrorized I felt, when I learned his story for the first time. And the "ghost" scene between him and one of his victims -Erin Bloome- only sealed the deal. The not so heroic pleas for life from late nurse only added to the impact he's story arc had over me. On the interesting side note: his voice acting wasn't as great as one would expect after reading my praises. So just to sum it up, let me quote chief nurse Angela Loesser, when she found out what he did to 16 of her staff: "That son of a bitch. That_son_of_a_bitch!" There is another one, and I recall it made me quite numb (at least for a moment before another attack). Hybrid-turned security guard Turnbull who turns out to be carrying audio log she kept recording while parasite took over. Disturbing as hell, especially when you listened it just seconds after adrenaline rush caused by her sudden attack (scripted). I find myself honestly grateful that I've played the game back in the day, when it was fresh and groundbreaking (and when I had no internet so no one was able to spoil it for me ). PS I've added some links for those more interested about, or (gasp!) oblivious to SS2 story. And if you'd like to relive the experience of System Shock audio logs here's another handfull link.
  23. My God... That! That, multiple times! After all, internet didn't nicknamed her "First Bitchizen Lynette" without a reason. I literally hated her and I can easily recall that overwhelming mischievous joy I've felt, after I struck a deal between Gecko and Vault City behind her back, with the help from Councillor McClure. And then after completing this particular quest, going to her office and telling her just about HOW I "solved" the Ghoul/Gecko problem, for no other reason as pissing her off! There were no additional xp gain, no change in story (doesn't change ending for VC and Gecko, so obviously she swallowed her pride, the only apparent change was in her behavior towards PC). SOOO satisfying. In fact I think there were bunch of more or less minor NPCs that were simply great in both F1 and F2, but just to emphasize the greatness of Lynette design I wont mention any of them :D
  24. I hope paypal isn't issue withholding creation of fulfillment site. I can't help but worry about it, since I've read that article about "Skullgirls" in April, or May.
