Im not sure if this is Urban Legend or not but Ive heard that during D-Day there were several Tiger divisions nearby that werent brought to bear due to the fact they only took orders diretly from Hitler, who was napping, and nobody wanted to wake him. You know anything about that one way or the other?

Being through boot camp and some military training they pretty much try to erase individuality and basically do a form of brainwashing that you would comply to every order given. Yet have laws that make the soldier accountable for his actions and not the commander who dictates his actions. *sigh* One time you are going to be right about something and Im going to fall out of my chair. While Im sure you feel you know all there is to know about the military what with the 6-8 weeks you invested before getting canned, my 7.5 years of active duty thouroughly disproves your "facts". 1) Blind obedience is only taught in bootcamp. This is, as you surmised, used to break down the individuals and form them into a team mentality. This is used for unit cohesion and training the person to function under stress. Once you reach your duty station, you are expected to follow all "lawful" orders, but not all order period (below). 2) Military personel are not required to follow "unlawful" orders. Meaning, if your ordered to run in and gun down the monastary full of retarded nuns, you do not have to follow it and you will suffer no reprucussion. While you may be bitter for being found unfit for duty but you dont have to make up BS and pass it off as fact.

You are crazy. Christmas is about rampant commercialization and capitalism gone crazy backed by a mix bag of Pagan and Christian religious nonsense. ...and thus, sitting on his high horse, Sand acclaimed: "I can see my house from here!" :D

We already do that, or at least we did while I was in the Navy for the first Gulf war. Not only was our pay tax free while on deployment, we also received "Imminent Danger Pay" (couple hundred extra per month) and got to send our mail out without the need for a stamp (wtf?). That's reasonable. Especially the stamp part. I always did feel that was the cherry on the top.

Hehe, Eddo usually recycles this topic about once a year. I havent read the other 69 posts but Ive said it before so Ill say it again. If you dodge your countries call to arms you are a coward, plain and simple. You will gladly suckle at the teat your country provides in peace but the minute youre needed you scamper to the hills? Goodbye, good riddance, your citizenship has been revoked.

Ive never played PS:T but, TBH, the constant cutscenes in NWN2 are killing me to death. Way too much yikkidy-yak, IMO. Meet new person 5 minutes of cutscenes while you navigate the responces Walk 20 ft Assinine bickering breaks out over how to handle a situation Repeat

Er, what? 1) How do you know it didnt effect peoples habits? Lets say hypothetically I couldnt find a bag of weed to buy because the shipment intended for Chicago was intercepted and the dealer didnt have any. I guess I wouldnt be smoking any until that status changed. 2) I wouldnt call having 9.25 Mkgs less drugs on the street a "failure". Not to mention whatever peeps were also rounded up in those cases. Why does it have to be all or nothing to be a success? Since there are still some drugs available it must be a total failure and we can give up and legalize everything? Thats akin to saying "Well, that guy got killed in the car accident while he was wearing his seatbelt. Might as well throw out that mandatory seatbelt law because its a failure."
-
And while were on the subject, lets look at this "failure" on the war on drugs. As these DEA statistics show 9,264,699.6 kgs of illegal drugs were captured in the U.S. in 2005 alone. Whats the definition of failure to everyone, less then 100% removal of all drugs? I guess in that case, all efforts at doing anything are a failure, including this pipe dream to remove organized crime.
-
I'm not saying you're daft, but come on. We have tried the War on Drugs. Nice plan. Didn't work. Carrying on with our heads in the sand is costing everyone needlessly. Im not saying you're daft, but come on. Since one thing didnt work we might as well throw up our hands in failure and open the floodgates.

^^But meanwhile, who do you think is going to foot the bill for these "free" services? Thats right, you and me, via our tax dollars. Thats part of the reason why all the Scandinavian countries have ridiculously high taxes, all these "free" social programs. If you want to spend your life in a drug induced haze, fine, but it better not be coming out of my pocket to entertain the idea it will force organized crime out. IMO, its just switching one cost (fighting crime) for another (manufacturing drugs to give away). It also basically green lights illicit drug use. If your govornment is giving it to you, it cant be criminal to use. So, party hearty on the taxpayers dime with absolutely no reprecussions! Also, arent methadone clinics already set up in every major city? They give it away and the organized crime problems are still in full force. Why so? Ive seen this in a slightly different layout, that 10% of the total population commits 90% of all crime.

I never understand the "If we give it to them, they wont have to steal it" BS argument. Well duh. If we open up free ATM machines nobody would have to steal cash to feed their families either. If we gave away Porche's, nobody would steal cars. If we gave away PS3's, nobody would get jacked in line. While many of you trumpet "I should be able to live as I want" I think you know inside thats crap. We live in societies where personal responsibilities are the foundation of orderly living, not "gimmie what I want for free or suffer the consequences".

^Thats been a major problem for me too. I tend to have a hard time being Chaotic or Evil as I play the game as "myself" and usually pick answers as I would IRL. Between that and my computer (higher middle end system) suddenly chugging to keep up with the frame rates has caused me to not play for a few weeks now. Im not bitching about da rulez, it just made me lose a little interest.

Im not sure he can block every power but certainly can block any mental assaults (Suggestion Girl), attempts at scrying (cop) and read/wipe memories. Meaning, for example, I dont think he could stop a non-mental power like flying, radiating, healing, etc...

It seems that way. Another excellent episode. So Sylar's

My god, what kind of f-ing monster do you have to be to be able to do that? Can you imagine the agony that poor child must have gone through before the merciful release of death? Too bad our death penalty choices dont include "roasted over an open fire".

Oh horror of horrors, my TiVo didnt record it last night. *sob* I hope they show them online like Lost. Which network is it again? NBC?
