Just made it to the children by the ruins and am loving the game. Couple of things have made me go "Hmmmm" though. With growing dread Ive realized that Im (the human player) the weak link in the combat. Everyone is way more efficient in combat if Im not controlling them. If I could, I would rename my guy (warlock) to "Street Sweeper" because he just kicks ridiculous amounts of butt. He rips off Eldrith Spears / Chains like a machine gun. I dont even have to do anything except control the rogue, open the door, and let the dwarf and warlock lay waste. A more menacing issue though is the fact I just got an in game message that my warlock is about to not be able to be a warlock anymore if my alignment shifts any more toward lawful. WTF!? Im getting lawful shifts left and right for the more mundane things. "What, you saved the kids outside the ruins?" - lawful shift. "You talk to people like a normal shmoe?" - lawful shift. Ive tried being Chaotic by always pimping for extra loot from people and for christ sake, I even jacked the refugee's for a reward. What kind of bastage jacks homless refugee's for loot? Ill tell you who, a person that doesnt get a Chaotic shift for it. So, I beseech you big brain modders for help. I just dont have it in me to start over right now and try to be more Chaotic. Can someone please help me, and by "help me" I mean "hold my hand", through the process of opening whatever file I need to open to edit my Warlocks alignment back down a few notches?

I often moderate while wearing a false moustache. Is it one of those long, thin ones that curls at the ends that you can stroke and twist menacingly? Ive always wanted one of those.

^I think he just uses his telekinesis to basically rip the head open although thats pure speculation on my part.

Alone.......Im so utterly alone..... So Im at the part where Im being sent off to Neverwinter all by my lonesome. Now that Ive had more time with the game the controls are slightly more usable. I know this is old hat to you all but I really liked seeing things in dialog like [diplomacy] or [lie] or [intimidate]. So far I I also though it was kinda interesting that my elf stepfather actually managed to aggrivate me to the point that I threatened to "beat the hells out of him" at one point, lol. Having fun so far!

I think I ran into my first minor bug last night. I just entered chapter one and saved those two kids in the house. Afterward when I try to talk to whatshername in the next room she says something and I have the lone choice of "continue". When I click that the dialog box just closes. Im able to continue but I hate leaving "quest" things unsolved (and not getting my reward. ) I think its because Im not patched to 1.02 but I was kinda going to wait for 1.03 because of all the "My f-ing game wont run AT ALL after 1.02" threads Ive read. Also, occasionally, the little kid (thief) who I picked up portrait wouldnt display and Ive had some training dialog boxes open up that were just blank.

I was wondering how HRG knew the exact date and location of his daughters murder. How does he know Sylar will do it, because the other girl with the artist is clairvoyant too? I liked this episode very much.

Ok, I have a pretty stupid question. Im totally lost on how to add the blast shapes to the Eldritch Blast. When I was playing the tutorial it said something about combining a shape to your blast and I just didnt get it. I took the spear and another one (destructive somethingorother)and they are both sitting on my warlocks quickbar. So, in battle, I just click the Eldritch Spear button and it fires. Is that the way Im supposed to be combining a shape to the blast or do you have to "assign" a shape to you blast some way?

Fun episode. That politician brother is really turning out to be a lying dirtbag. I had to roll my eyes when the kid used the phone at the end. I mean c'mon, who DOESNT have powers now?

Ok, so I finally finished the tutorial and entered chapter 1. I like the game but have to admit the controls are driving me crazy. The camera is the pits, plain and simple. I have to play with my hands crossed so my right hand is on the mouse and my left hand is on the arrow keys for the friggin 8 billion view adjustments you have to do merely walking 10 feet. Dont even get me started on indoor areas. I also dont like how your party members just wander off screen to do their thing and you cant see what the hell is going on with them until you click their portrait. I do like the battles but I have to get used to the wierd pause between swings where everyone is just kinda standing there. I like the spell animations and my Warlock seems to be kicking some decent butt. I suppose if I fool with the AI I can make my party members stop running off to fights off screen but whoever made those camera controls needs to be horse whipped. Heh, Im a pacer too. Im also a stander, meaning Id rather stand at a bar/event then sit. My pet peeves: 1) Jerks who run the yellow light. 2) People who walk slow or take up the whole isle in the grocery store. 3) Traffic and/or people that wont do at least the speed limit. 4) Never had Swedish twins.

A few of my impressions on the game: Ive been really busy so Im still playing in the tutorial. The character movement and control seem clunky as hell to me and screwing around with the camera angle every two seconds so you can see what the hell is going on is annoying. I do like the graphic and it runs like a champ with everything I could find to max out, maxed. This will probably make the majority of you clutch your chests and knash your teeth, but I also really like the "recommend" buttons on character creation. Im sure once I get the hand of 3.5 or subsequent playthroughs Ill manage it manually but its nice to have at this point because nothing suck more then realizing you just invested all that time in a level 10 turd and have to start over.

I dont even use a mouse pad. Just a wireless optical mouse right on my desk surface.

OK, heres my problem: The updater fails to work and gives me an error of "Internet is not connected or patch server is down". I know its not the former so it must be the latter. Trying to navigate directly to the download page provides a link to an FTP site that doesnt have jack on it, so I dont know whats up with that or how Im going to get the patch.

I wonder why some will update while others wont......

So, I went out last night to the local store and the had copies literally spilling off the shelf. Install went smooth and the game loads up without delay like Ive read some of you having. Due to wife aggro I only had time to whip through making a Paladin (*sigh* Im so predictable) and played a few minutes of the tutorial. Only thing there that was a little odd was an about 1 second delay between clicking on a place for my guy to walk to, and him executing the command. The updater fails to work and gives me an error of "Internet is not connected or patch server is down". I know its not the former so it must be the latter. Trying to navigate directly to the download page provides a link to an FTP site that doesnt have jack on it, so I dont know whats up with that or how Im going to get the patch. Farted around a bit with the display setting and set everything I could to maximum. No slowdowns but then again Im still in the tutorial. The "Recommended Settings" button on the "Advanced" tab doesnt seem to do anything at all as when I pushed it, nothing changed anywhere I could see.

Arent Jack, Kate and Sawyer all in the same place just that they keep Jack below ground and Sawyer and Kate topside in the zoo cages?

And considering the escaped horse is on the same island as the bears, it stands to reason that Hydra station is on the original island. Of course we know thats not true as we've seen a scene of Benjamin showing Sawyer that they are on a different island.

Now, I never played the first and dont yet have the second but I dont understand this reasoning. So, not as crap as the 5 yo one = good?
