Fun episode. That politician brother is really turning out to be a lying dirtbag. I had to roll my eyes when the kid used the phone at the end. I mean c'mon, who DOESNT have powers now?

Ok, so I finally finished the tutorial and entered chapter 1. I like the game but have to admit the controls are driving me crazy. The camera is the pits, plain and simple. I have to play with my hands crossed so my right hand is on the mouse and my left hand is on the arrow keys for the friggin 8 billion view adjustments you have to do merely walking 10 feet. Dont even get me started on indoor areas. I also dont like how your party members just wander off screen to do their thing and you cant see what the hell is going on with them until you click their portrait. I do like the battles but I have to get used to the wierd pause between swings where everyone is just kinda standing there. I like the spell animations and my Warlock seems to be kicking some decent butt. I suppose if I fool with the AI I can make my party members stop running off to fights off screen but whoever made those camera controls needs to be horse whipped. Heh, Im a pacer too. Im also a stander, meaning Id rather stand at a bar/event then sit. My pet peeves: 1) Jerks who run the yellow light. 2) People who walk slow or take up the whole isle in the grocery store. 3) Traffic and/or people that wont do at least the speed limit. 4) Never had Swedish twins.

A few of my impressions on the game: Ive been really busy so Im still playing in the tutorial. The character movement and control seem clunky as hell to me and screwing around with the camera angle every two seconds so you can see what the hell is going on is annoying. I do like the graphic and it runs like a champ with everything I could find to max out, maxed. This will probably make the majority of you clutch your chests and knash your teeth, but I also really like the "recommend" buttons on character creation. Im sure once I get the hand of 3.5 or subsequent playthroughs Ill manage it manually but its nice to have at this point because nothing suck more then realizing you just invested all that time in a level 10 turd and have to start over.

My problem was solved! If any of you are having the same patch update problem as me, go here. You will find patch links for English, French, Italian and German.

I dont even use a mouse pad. Just a wireless optical mouse right on my desk surface.

How did you come to that conclusion with a statement like this right in the snippet Walshingham provided?

OK, heres my problem: The updater fails to work and gives me an error of "Internet is not connected or patch server is down". I know its not the former so it must be the latter. Trying to navigate directly to the download page provides a link to an FTP site that doesnt have jack on it, so I dont know whats up with that or how Im going to get the patch.

I wonder why some will update while others wont......

So, I went out last night to the local store and the had copies literally spilling off the shelf. Install went smooth and the game loads up without delay like Ive read some of you having. Due to wife aggro I only had time to whip through making a Paladin (*sigh* Im so predictable) and played a few minutes of the tutorial. Only thing there that was a little odd was an about 1 second delay between clicking on a place for my guy to walk to, and him executing the command. The updater fails to work and gives me an error of "Internet is not connected or patch server is down". I know its not the former so it must be the latter. Farted around a bit with the display setting and set everything I could to maximum. No slowdowns but then again Im still in the tutorial. The "Recommended Settings" button on the "Advanced" tab doesnt seem to do anything at all as when I pushed it, nothing changed anywhere I could see.

Arent Jack, Kate and Sawyer all in the same place just that they keep Jack below ground and Sawyer and Kate topside in the zoo cages?

And considering the escaped horse is on the same island as the bears, it stands to reason that Hydra station is on the original island. Of course we know thats not true as we've seen a scene of Benjamin showing Sawyer that they are on a different island.

Same here. One of the things I really liked about BGII was that you could get awesome gear but you have to fight pretty hard to get it (Firkraag for the Holy Avenger, the lich protecting the Staff of the Magi). Im getting more and more pumped for this game, maybe Ill wander over to the store after work and pick up a copy today.

Yeah, but "good" for them doesnt mean "good" inside?? Im not sure. Doesnt it seem the black smoke can manifest itself as anything you want? I mean, obviously it took the guise of his brother to lure him to that location and I believe it was probably the smoke monster back in season one when Jack saw his dead pappy walking around.

Ok, so looking at page 38 of the manual, it states that the requirements for a Divine Champion are: HPpL: 10 BaB: 7 Feats: Weapon Focus That sounds pretty easy to have from the very beginning. Can I be a Divine Champion right at character creation?

^I appreciate you explaining things to me. Here is my question from the other thread: Can someone please explain to me prestige classes? So I was leafing through the manual and reading up on the available prestige classes and all it states is the minimum requirement to attain said class. The classes state you get this or that at X level and some of them are really low, like level 2-3. So, do you get to jump right into a prestige class as long as you meet the requirements regardless of level? What level do you need to be to start taking presige classes? How can you receive some prestige perk at level 2 or 3? Meaning, say you have to be level 10 to start a prestige class, does your level drop to level one of the prestige class? Me so confused.

Thanks jorian, I always forget stuff like that is in Wiki. Maybe they can answer my prestige class questions from the "impressions" thread too.
