  1. How else would it be financed? Thats why countries with socialist programs pay upwards of 60% taxes. Point a) Americans spends as much tax money per capita on healthcare as the 'socialist' (lol) democracies (mainly Scandinavia) anyway,so moot point. Point b) Australia spends less tax money per capita on healthcare than America and has roughly the same taxation level, so again, moot point. Ill be honest here, I dont understand your point. Regardless of what happens in Scandinavia and Australia (lol), a UHS implementation in the US will result in a dramatic increase in my taxes to pay for it.
  2. How else would it be financed? Thats why countries with socialist programs pay upwards of 60% taxes. Maybe Im just a selfish SOB but I loathe the idea of my hard work paying for someone elses stuff. Where half or better of the monies I earned to take care of MY family are taken away from me without choice to pay for some other schlub? No thanks.
  3. MC, I know you have a vested interest and I dont mean this to belittle the situation you went through but again, why is that my problem? I can link you to hundreds of sad cases and while I agree they are sad that doesnt mean I want to take away from my family to raise your family (not you). Yay, nice cheap shot. 1) Who cant afford school K-12? Its free. 2) You do pay for fire departments in your State/city taxes. 3) The same Social Security you pay into with the expectation of getting your money back when you retire? 4) Both. Not only can we not affors to pay for 300+ million people I dont feel I should be forced to.
  4. *sigh* This is just another pile of deadbeats Ill have to flip the bill for. Repeat after me, its not my responsibility to raise your sorry ass. As an aside, I do find the mentality of different countries interesting. Those of you born and raised in that type of environment eat it up like candy and are always the first to find reason why you should support others. Very touching. I wonder if its a byproduct of two world wars.
  5. Made Champion of Undercity at the Argent Tournament and slew the Black Night for the "Its just a flesh wound" achievement, which made me lol. In two more days Ill have enough to buy a kickass new epic dagger from the Undercity quartermaster.
  6. ^In between encountering "Brutal Errors" I think I sqouse in a request to join.
  7. Hmm, sounds BG-ish with its global reputation.
  8. Weve all heard the "dur, we ran out of zots" party line. I dunno man, it just seems like more and more is being sacrificed on the altar of making money. Im not just talking about little stuff either, how does an OS wiping uninstaller ever make it out the door? Seriously, not one person uninstalled the game before it shipped? C'mon.
  9. Heh, isnt that par for the course now? NWN, NWN2, Oblivion, FO3, Gothis, etc, etc.... Its almost a business model now, lol. Just chug it out the door and let the customers fix it. The part that totally blew my mind was when somehow the fixes in NWN never made it over to NWN2 because they got an "early build". If only they would have had the ability to go to the vault and download stuff.
  10. Yes, several of us play WoW. Heres a thread on WotLK (linked you to the last page, 20). IMO, WotLK far surpasses Burning Crusade.
  11. *sigh* 0-3 today, AGAIN. Korqeldroma, 00raiser and KittyBangBang all took turns working me over. Oh, and "Pugnacious" doesnt do jack.
  12. I suppose if I were a defendant I would prefer the jury system. At least then the prosecution has to convince a majority, and in some cases unanimously, before I could be convicted. And while I agree that there are stupid people out there having recently served on a jury in a civil matter has shown me if nothing else, jurors generally try to be fair.
  13. Wow, I had completely forgotten about that until you just mentioned it. "Page 34, second paragraph, 17th word..." Good times.

Are you the instructor or a student? Whats "NB" mean? I get that its the same as "PS" (post script) but what do the letters stand for? As for your topic (), I assume they are all Danes too so maybe some talk about local news? Or your interest in computer games?
  15. This says 150 peeps.
  16. How can you not have juries? That's just asking for trouble. Namely corruption and authoritarianism. Most court cases in North America aren't before a jury either. And juries have their own problems that come with them too. Eh? The Constitution itself provides as a fundemental right a jury trial to the accused should they wish it. Unless you specifically meant Canada as "North America", I dont know what you guys are up to up there.
  17. Ah, the good ole days where copy protection could be circumvented with a piece of tape.
  18. they were singled out simply because of who they were. they weren't even part of the fight. taks As were millions and millions of other civilians. More civilians died than combatants by a long margin. Again, what makes them special? Is it soley the "racial" part of it? I know for a fact the Japanese looked at the Chinese as little more than animals, would killing 20 million of them as the Japanese did qualify as racism?
  19. most weren't just following orders, however, though i'm sure there were some that did not want to do what they had to do. there's a difference, too, in executing POWs without cause other than the fact that they were jewish. taks Yeah, theres no quantifying what was known or not known. What was for pleasure (?) or just following orders. I also think it was a much different time back then where the world was far less concerned with saving everyone and it was more important to get the job done regardless of enemy loss of life. The fire bombing of Tokyo? Purely used for fear and to demoralize the enemy and hundreds of thousands of civilians died, more then both atomic bombs combined! What makes the jews so different? Because 6 million died? Look at this chart. 20m Chinese dead, 23m Russians, 7m Nazis.
  20. I know youre trying to be facetious but I kinda agree with that. I never saw the point of hunting down some 85 year old man who was only following orders (See: the Enola Gay example). I wonder where the line was drawn, killing 10 jews? 100? 1000? Its probably very easy to find some US soldier that wiped out dozens of enemy or a sub commander that sent 500 souls to Davey Jones locker. Guess it sucks being on the losing side.
  21. Hmm, so much for all of you that somehow magically know that torture doesnt work.
  22. I wonder how well this will sell. After the tens of you who want the same exact game, except "as it should have been", blow your wads how many others will actually pay for it after such a short time of FO3's release. I would have loved to been a fly on the wall during that meeting; "Check it out, how about WE do Fallout too?" "Huh? It was just done a year ago." "Yeah, but this time we'll do it "right" to cater to a ridiculously small demographic." "SOLD!!!"

Looks like Sylar is slowly going insane. He's a bit OP now imo, apparently
  24. Hopefully someone has harvested plenty of his DNA.
